- In this match KHB rushed with a mothership of all things and really shows off some skill defending with minimal troops before the mothership is ready. Sorry for not showing Artosis' full view, I plan on uploading more videos and having to pan the camera myself adds a lot to the processing time. Regardless you get KHB's view the whole time for better understanding of his superior tactics.

Lucky Mothership Pop. Very well timed, in fact. 'Spell' Usage really well done by KBH here. SC2 strategies are going to make stuff like Sair-DT, SK-Terran and SD-Push things of the past. =D

@Xancha128 that's because during the replay he clicks on one of Artosis's units / buildings, making it so that he can hear the audio from Artosis's side of the game
@14austyboi if you look, bottom center displays the selected unit. above that u can see that he had numberlocked the units.
Damn, this looks sick. Initially it looked like regular SC, but when that mothership came out... wow. I hope my new Laptop will be able to support this.
@gmanthebeast1 hey, one question..i just downloaded SC2 beta? its now updating to v0.2.0.1..so,when its ready..i can log in my battlenet account right? Before this update,i tried to log in..but it says " invalid version"..so the Update was the answer? Where do i get the Beta keys pls help =)
@IrishDutchman he used an ability called "wormhole transit" which allows the player to teleport his mother ship to any of the player's pylons. it was removed later in the beta for some reason.
Hats off man. Brilliant strat. Haha, the whole front of your base/defense was just a ruse to slow him down, awesome. If he'd been 30 seconds quicker getting to your base things might have ended differently.

i love in the beginning the knife fights with the probes and scv's.
The pathfinding AIs and all the shortcuts makes up for the lower payload, so I have to agree with you, it feels very similar, if not faster.
@waterskippers didn't see anyone answer your question, but yes, it comes with a map editor. haven't used it myself yet though.
that is epic. I love how the mothership popped out at the most crucial time.

There are a lot of reasons. The pro's usually are fighting continually from tier 1 up to tier 3. This means a lot of the time they just do not have the opportunity to get it, sometimes it can only be practically accessible if you mothership rush and that comes with its obvious risks. The pros do not like to take big risks or else they would lose a lot, they like standard and stable and practical builds. But occassionally they will pull out rarely used tricks like the mothership.

1. Gateway
2. Cybernetics Core
3. Stargate
4. Fleet Beacon
5. Start building Mothership from Nexus.
With a few pylons and units sprinkled about in between.
I love it. Epic fighting -> tranquil quiet base -> Epic fighting.

the "what" at 6:13 had my laughing for like 5 minutes straight. Crazy timing on that mothership, he must have been so confused when all the probes went invisible.
Decently balanced. Everything is more counter-based, and the inner-balancing of time/cost/efficiency is quite good as well. It still has some rough edges, but it's in testing. I'd say it's making good progress.
@MrLinder usually a terran would get a ghost up and about 8-10 vikings to deal with the Mothership and any other straggling air units that the toss player is most likely to have. The ghost has the ability to deplete all the mothership's shield i believe and the vikings can just out range and out maneuver the mothership

@desorienter In the beta the motership had a teleport ability, which allowed it to teleport to any friendly structure. I dont remember the other abilities, the only one that stayed the same was the black hole one.
@farc300 yes you can play Sc on medium settings. or low settings, but you can def play it.

@AlmoshT yes, it is, you can request a beta key with your battlenet-account and people will be selected according to gaming rig, I believe.

@HiggsPat Actually, the tactic worked pretty well... And I remember in SC1 building supply depots/pilons and Barracks/photon cannons+forge in front of the base to prevent early rushes/recons... It is a long used tactic in the first one and in the SC2 will still be used...

@HiggsPat Backing up what Joao2Pedro said, I believe that the game was designed so that players could opt to erect barricades at narrow chokepoints to help protect against early rushers (especially against Zerglings), but no matter how well your base is defended, you still need to expand, or risk being outclassed in terms of production. If you still have a problem with this, then go and play Command & Conquer 3, where base entrances are usually too wide to be barricaded.

@timmy0330 It's Mass Recall... and while I agree that it's usually pretty useless, it can be awesome in certain situations. I've gone Mothership Rush with the most recent patch and if you bring along a Warp Prism, the energy field + Mass Recall basically gives you instant reinforcements whenever you need them.

@noobrages He doesn't build a new one--back then the Mothership had an ability that allowed you to instantly warp it into an area that had Pylon power (if I recall correctly). You can see him use it earlier on to get on the other side of the Marauders in his own base. He uses it at about 6:20.
@chtzeppelin the protoss guy didn't bother making much of an army though, because he was teching up to get a mothership. the races all look pretty balanced to me

It's much more noob friendly this time around. Also, there are plenty of little improvements in terms of convenience as well, such as being able to select a TON of units and also "tab" through different units' skills. The most badass unit upgrade in my opinion is the battlecruiser. That shit owns now.
I thought it will be like the rest of the strategy games these days... But daaamn! they've kept almost the same movement speed as in Starcraft 1.... Awsome!

I like how it looks so faithful to the original game, but got a huge facelift. I haven't gotten to play this yet, but I like how Blizzard tries so hard not to screw up a good series...

Well of course it depends on the build order and situation. Many protoss players get void rays so you are going to want fleet beacon anyway.

I have played Warcraft 1,2,&3 and Starcraft. This definitely looks promising. One thing i didn't really notice was heroes. Will there be leveling heroes like in Warcraft 3? That would be schweet
@cjgone2 i think artosis jokingly told huk to do it, and when huk did it artosis couldn't believe he actually did it. worked out well for huk as well. artosis was it complete awe, said something along the lines of "it's one thing in a ladder game, it's another in a tournament" - i could be thinking of another game, but i think it was that huk game :)

@Junior6919 Definitely. Starcraft is easily one of the best, if not the best, RTS games out there. people still play the old 98 Starcraft 1.
lol. True about the "supply depots" thing. It better say "You must construct additional pylons" in the final game :)

No, Gamestop/EBgames and Amazon recently introduced a free beta key deal if you pre-ordered SC2 (any edition). Also, Blizzard has given away 300 beta keys per day for at least the last week on their StarCraft Facebook page (in the form of trivia questions). That's how I got my beta key - facebook.
