Chore day in the north woods! These are some of our favorite days. Everything from gathering water, to cutting wood, to making bread in the dutch oven all feels extra special at the end of the day. We are truly loving this.

Our goal is to inspire individuals to chase their dreams... to break from societal limitations and live the life they truly desire.

I watch you in complete admiration.
My body doesn't allow me to be as active as you which is why I live in a house. But because of you and a couple of other inspirational people on youtube, I'd really like to try part time van life at some point.
Dunno why people watch if they don't understand.. dunno why they feel the need to comment like that too!
Tbh I'm envious of the life you've built for yourself and wish I'd had the courage to follow the whispers earlier. I'm working on it though!
Thank you so much for sharing your life, challenges, wins and losses with us.
Watching your channel feels like a warm fuzzy blanket on a chilly night 💖

I think it’s amazing doing what you two are doing. I’m 67 and I took my two big dogs from southern AZ to the panhandle of Florida/Alabama. What fun I had. I’m not in a van, I’m in a class C Winnebago but that too comes with it’s own set of challenges. Thank you. Such fun

I love this way of life I’m older 67 back in the day when I was 17 I lived in the woods in one room cabin with no electricity, no running water lift pretty much like you. Are you know chopping a hole in the ice and to bring water in and had an awesome woodstove in there with reservoirs on each side so you filled it up with water and as you cook door, whatever you end up with warm water to do baths or laundry, or whatever best time of my life best time of my life
Now that I’m 67 my goal is to convert a van or some similar vehicle pretty much the way you have I want to be able to live off grid in it none of that fancy stuff for me so that’s what I’m working on hopefully by next year I’ll have it done and ready to go. Woo hoo I’m excited.😃 you are a great inspiration for exactly what I’m looking to do❤️

The funny thing about doing daily tasks the "hard way", is that its a far more rewarding way to live. When life is too convenient, you're missing out on the deep soul fulfillment that comes from putting extra work and effort into a task.

Hey. Lazy morning. Been harvesting my gardens, canning and freezing and this morning, 🤗 it’s chilly and I need to start planning for the coming winter. I’m watching these videos to see if I can borrow some of your ideas 😊🙏 hope you don’t mind. This is to update the 2 comments a year ago. I came back up to my camper April 26th 2023… and haven’t left - made it through the winter 🙏 GOD be thanked - it was the winter to do it because our lease was up May 2024 so I had that to go to if it got bad here. My son now lives in Nova Scotia ( only place that allowed him to rent with 3 huskys) sooo, I’ve no place to go BUT HERE this coming year
And still- there’s no way I want to live any other way. Only thing different is I added more water containers 👍

There are ppl who yearn for a challenge and ppl who just don't. It's as simple as that. Idk if it's something in our DNA or what, but I've learned that you can rationalize your reasons till you're blue in the face and ppl still won't get it. And that's fine. At the end of the day it's about you and your life and what makes you happy.🙏🏼

That shot of Akela at 13:30 was the cutest ever!! Cute little nose tucked in the pillow! Linnea, don't give yourself a hard time for forgetting the bread, you had a ton of stuff going on. And that the dough rose after a week in the fridge shows just what a good baker you are. I'd love to see more of your method and/or look at your recipe. I've been baking sourdough most every week for a few years now, and there's nothing like it. That you're doing it in a fire dutch oven situation is amazing. I'd love to do what you two are doing out there, nothing like teamwork and friendship in a relationship!

No hustle and bustle, only stressful when you make it that way, being self sufficient. I’m really excited to try canning as well and before seeing you guys do it I never would have thought of it! Last Summer we left AZ after 27 years and are now spending the Summer months on our 3.5 acre property in Northern MI. We built a huge metal garage for our "stuff" and our cars while we are traveling this Winter in our 170 extended Sprinter. Some people think it's great and some think we are crazy! I was one of the latter I must say at first, but now it' so freeing and a challenge for me. I grew up with parents who didn't exactly enjoy roughing it. LOL I totally understand how you and Chris are loving your time up there! I am getting so much inspiration on things we can do on our journey from watching you two. Thanks for taking us along! 🤩

I think you 2 have the right idea. Many of us forget how MANY modern conveniences we actually take for granted. I would love to have the opportunity to do something like this. Unfortunately I have a job that requires me to be IN the office. You 2 are very fortunate to be able to do your work via the Internet.
Love your videos....and the Apple Crumble looked AMAZINGLY delish🥰👍☕️

I’ve lived your way and even more primitive for many years of my life. I’ve also been in apartments and suburban homes… what most don’t understand is the sheer exhilaration of effort, and how it invigorates the body and enlivens the soul. The ions in the woodland and waterside atmosphere are actually different and highly beneficial. It’s why most people feel better in nature, and particularly around water. I’m enjoying watching the🎉 blessings of your challenges🥰 Keep reaching… for when you become sedentary, you signal the brain to prepare to leave this realm. The rhythms of breathing in/breathing out… effort then rest, then repeat are the magical stuff of vibrant life. Sweet blessings to you and your little clan🙏🏻✨

Just an FYI. There's 4 big storms that will hit the west coast in the next 10 days. Hopefully you have what you need to endure the winter. I wish you the best!

Some people just don't get it, you 2 are truly blessed, you are blessing others showing how hard work can be fun, it's a mind set, if I was young I would totally do this. Bless you both, give the pups a scratch for me. Patti O.

Loved seeing it all! Working for yourself and working for others is a world of difference. The burnt bread will never yell at you and say it's gonna take that from your salary or keep you after hours in revenge. yes, you will not eat fresh bread, but that's just action and consequence. and just as you said, it doesn't have to be awful. the fact that you get to be boss-free, office-free, customer-free, 9to5-free in return is worth ALL OF THAT for me. And psychologically speaking, I'm not even sure you could burn out from homesteading work, but it all has a sense, a time and an end. And you do so YOU will drink, so YOU will eat, so YOU will keep warm. that's one hell of a motivator, too. ^^

I love seeing you thrive out there. I wouldn't think of it as hard work. Imagine getting though the winter there 150 years ago. Great job guys. Love this chapter.
