Your live edge slab table is my favorite design element in your van. The entire design is amazing and I love the "cabin feel" wood choices you made. You definitely have a truly cozy little cabin on wheels. Awesome build!
I hv a nice slab w live edges my late husband made when we were first married 45 yrs ago. It was a coffee table w a stump base. Well many yrs of using it I finally decided to do something different w it. Now I know what. Her woodpiece is gorgrous.gorgeous.. So I'm gonna do something similar n pass it on to our daughter.
As a father to two daughters (25-19) I can't even express how ridiculously adorable you are. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that I'm a hard core (real hard core) prepper and survivalist of 35 years and so are both my girls now. And, oh oh oh, we're next door in Minnesota. I used to own a vacation home in Balsam Lake, Wis as well. Keep up being you. Be safe and always think of what could go wrong so you can prepare ahead. But, also enjoy the peace and quiet from all the crazies in this world. 🙂💪
I'm 83 and have a great deal of respect for this lady, I'm still going too and have a build in mind myself. I want to sell my custom house that I built and get wheels that I can move around on this 4000 square mile Island, visit friends enjoy the sun every day, be able to spend time anywhere I want, when ever I want. I'm in a wheelchair and miss being able to get out when I want to no matter the weather ( enjoy the tropical rain ) , be able to get to the top of Mauna Kea again. I'm in real good health after 3 strokes that all came within 72 hours real close together . You go girl and I'll add you to my watch list.😎 Aloha Nui Loa !
what a precious little doggo 😫❤️❤️❤️🫠 i love her ears and her pretty white coat, and thats nice to have a dog buddy with you for anytime youre flying solo
Lost me briefly when she said she spent over 17k on it, but that she was on a budget. Then quickly gained my respect and admiration when I watched only a few moments further. What an amazing woman and human.. Thank you for all you do for the world, Linnea!! You are truly an inspiration ♥️🙏🏽
Now the more I’m watching it, the more I’m realizing how absolutely genius it is that you spent the bulk of the money up front on the van itself, then did everything else resourcefully and on a budget. That’s so wise!! I apologize for jumping to conclusions initially, I have about 5k to spend on a van and I’m trying to do it effectively and efficiently and I got countless tips from you. Also, you are beautiful! 🙏🏽
Just because someone lives on a different budget than yours does not mean that they are not budgeting! A millionaire could have a budget on their million dollar house. It’s still a budget.
I’ve just discovered this channel. I agree 100% on building your own home/van/shelter. There’s something magical about being able “see through walls”. You know what is there because you built it. And to sit back and say: “I built that” has such a primal echo. Now to work through the 127 other vlogs to see how Linnea & Akela got to where they are.
your biggest asset is your ability to keep viewers glue to your long videos, long spills of just talking and rambling, I never watch videos these long, I have a very short attention spam, but with you, I can sit here and listen to you for ever, I very much enjoy your videos, your smiles, and your stories, God Bless.
Good on you for all your improvements! The reason your flue builds up crud is in the time it takes to heat the flue when you first restart the stove. To mitigate that, make a starter by putting sawdust in a coffee can and add kerosene to moisten the sawdust well. Use a couple of tablespoons under your kindling. This causes a really hot startup and will greatly decrease the amount of buildup! That's a great tip from Ariel on the FyeNyth channel. She's amazing.
Perfectly imperfect! and beautiful. I love your build, your bravery, and your attitude toward life. It's fantastic that you did all of this yourself. Stay cozy and safe this winter!
Now imagine the same setup but this time a 500lbs woman who wants to move into a new mobile park home. She needs help rolling off the bed and shows a piss bucket that's filled with wrappings. Would you call her brave and beautiful?
Linnea - I really admire all the personal work and personal touch you have put into making your home "your home." I started watching your channel because I was entranced with everything you do in your life, as a young woman who knows what she wants and how she wants to live (and, I loved the video you did with your mom). You are smart, strong, beautiful, and nothing holds you back. Thank you for having this You Tube channel. I hope other women gain strength from watching - and will live their lives according to how they want. I agree with others here - and say thanks for sharing.
i dunno what exactly you got for your dog but im gonna do some shameless advertising- a place i used to work in NH makes a rescue/carry harness for dogs and their hiking/backpacking humans called Pack-A-Paw, and it packs up real small and then opens up to be a simple sort of harness jacket for your dog that you can strap to yourself like a backpack to easily cary your dog if they get hurt and cant move during your outdoor activities
You ARE A HUGE INSPIRATION for all young women…..women in general! You have also done such an amazing job with your build but we all know it couldn’t have been done without the help of the amazing Akela😜❤️ Seriously though, you really have done an amazing job. Haha, I know this is a random question but what kind of coat is that you are wearing? I’ve been wanting to ask for, like, EVER🤣
Haha! Thank you so much, I really do appreciate it! My coat is from Mountain Hardware, and it is the Ghost Whisperer. I have had mine for many years so their model might be a tad different! I love it though :)
@@Linneaandakela thank you so much!! I just found one in that color🙌🏻 and I’m going to order it tomorrow. Haha, I am so stoked to get it. Do they fit true to size?
Just found your channel…What a delight. You are so well spoken in your enthusiasm of your life’s journey. I love that the word gratitude comes easily to you tongue.💝. I’m almost 80 yrs. old… there’s very few things left in life that boggle these old brain cells, but you have done it! 😉. I’m astounded at all the things that you needed to learn to build your cozy home on wheels. Your family must be very, very proud of you. Hopefully, YOU (!) are very, very proud of you. Can’t wait to watch your other videos & learn more about your interests & your adventures.
Great build and you have a wonderful life, love your dog she is your great company, you have a beaut fire place and Van. Take care stay safe and God Bless you.💯😊🙏
Linnea, I am absolutely amazed by what you have created for yourself. You, Akela, your van and lifestyle, your personality and your freedom are very special. I wish you many more adventures and the very best!
What a beautiful build! You are so talented and did a beautiful job. You remind me of how I was when I was young. I was able to do anything. Unfortunately I've been very ill for many years and have developed several chronic illnesses that has made it impossible to do the things I used to. I've always taken excellent care of myself and these illnesses just came out of nowhere. Enjoy this time and embrace it. You never knew when your health could be taken from you along with your independence. Your baby is absolutely beautiful! Be safe and enjoy living this life that so many people wish they could do! You're amazing!

I can’t get over how amazing your van built is! I believe that you can do anything! I wish that I had been like you when I was young, you’re incredible. May God bless you and keep you in His loving care 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
You are amazing, I am sat here looking at a beautiful young lady who is so totally self sufficient, talented and independent. Well done to you, stay safe and keep enjoying your wonderful life. Arela is stunning, we have two German shepherds they are amazing family members. New followers here.
Wow! I love the cabin feel of your van build. And wow! I'm impressed with your fortitude and courage to take on learning everything you can to sustain this awesome life style. You are a manifestor just like me. I just wish I was young enough to attempt it, too. My mind is strong and my body is 76! I still manifest lots of other things, thou! Blessings on your journey, Linnea!! ❤😍🖖
This girl and her dog are just wonderful. I wish me and my dog could met these two one day. She’s smart , independent, resourceful, and she ain’t bad lookin either!!!! 10/10 😊
I am so glad I came across your channel today. You are an amazing young lady and I am very impressed by what you have done to update your Van. I hope other young ladies watch this and get inspired to learn and do their own van builds. You can do anything you set your mind to. Looking forward to your next video.
Gurl! We are kindred spirits! I love your authenticity and style. I often thought I was the only girl who lived doing all the DIY stuff, but I’m so proud of you and the excitement and pride you take in your build!! My pup Freyja goes everywhere with me in my truck camper. Life is a beautiful adventure!!
Had to rewatch your videos , I so love your life style! I will be 75 at the end of December. You keep up your travels, and yes the videos as well! Thank you my dear friend ❤
Love watching the evolution. Expanding one's comfort zone is one of the keys to a happy life. Another is being OK with failing and viewing it as a learning experience. Keep growing and teaching. We'll be here! You're an inspiration!
I adore your home on wheels🥰 My favorite part is the fact that it does look like a cozy log cabin. You have wonderful ideas! I have seen the compost potty too. Akela is adorable(sorry if misspelled) I have the same DeWalt bag and drill☺️
You are inspiring. You are so much like my daughter that lives in Alaska, has her own fishing boat and it’s huge and goes out to sea a few months at a time with her his. My grandchildren have been raised on that boat. She spend her land time at their cabin and hunting for their meats. Nothing stops her from doing it ground up. So much like you. I admire this in you both. She has not let her having a family slow her down. They are living a great life.
Linnea, thank you for making this video. You are one of the more unique van dwellers, and your van is a reflection of you. I love your commitment, and the fact that you and Chris are spending the winter off grid completely.
I am 61 years old and admire you and your life plan with all my heart. I wish I was 30 years younger and healthy again to live a similar life. It's only at the end that you realize what you did wrong! I send you my warmest regards and all the luck in the world for your further life. From Germany - Frank
Linnea you have done a wonderful job on the van , I feel your an inspiration for others that if you want something bad enough and willing to learn you can most definitely create what you want , Id be very comfortable living in your van.
Thank you Linnea! I too am old enough to be your grandfather (71) and am about to begin following in your footsteps with my own build. I am so impressed with your ingenuity, perseverance, and self-reliance!! I entered you in my "mind map" for the build with highest ratings under both methodology and inspiration! Only wish I still had my German Shepherd for company! Akela brings back bittersweet memories. Your parents should be so proud of you!!
What a great share and encouragement for someone inexperienced to learn that they can do something this huge! Thanks for sharing all your hard-learned tips and for proving that things can be done better.
Thank you for sharing ! I am an old man of sixty & watching what you have accomplished has blessed me immensely .. I too am building my home on wheels perhaps with the same frame of mind ..lol Meaning my design is for my own pleasure & use in mind .. it's barely a one person size lol the tiny 4x4 Suzuki Samurai is custom put together with my own hands just right for Cheech & I, he's a tiny chihuahua ... Most of my life I lived where I could enjoy the out doors .. There's nothing more pleasant to my nose sense than the smell of a wood fire & coffee / & bacon cooking in the air & feeling the cool brisk mountain morning ... the quietness of my surroundings allows me to feel secure & content ... soaking up by taking in my surroundings .. always being alert to movement & sounds that aren't natural to the sounds nature produces ... some folks don't like such quietness & stillness .. I love the wild undisturbed quietness nature has to offer ... it's more difficult to escape from those who have no clue how they intrude on someones solitude .. that's okay .. that's why our home has wheels ... lol Thanks for sharing !
I must subscribe. When I 1st came across your channel, I thought your van built was not designed for long-term living. After you redesigned it with a toilet, and wood stove, and knowing that you actually built your van yourself.... I must say I am a fan and appreciation your ability to survive and enjoy off-grid living. Great job!
Hi, just come across your channel showing your alterations, what an inspiration you are, so clever to teach yourself everything and then build it yourself, that is so good. I really enjoyed listening to you explain everything, also how caring you are to make sure Akela was comfortable too, with coats and boots, you don't see that very often 😊 Well done with everything you have done so far. 😊 👍
Linnea, you are such an amazing human to keep yourself going on the road with all your knowledge but building your own home must be so such a feeling of accomplishment. I sure wouldn’t know where to start. I’m really proud of you !!! 🌞🕯🤟🏽
Somehow stumbled on your video. Kudos to you for building your own van and all the upgrades you did. Love the wood stove! And I love the van's rustic homey vibe. Great job! Also enjoyed how you presented it and am impressed by all you have done and who you are. Safe travels!
I could watch this on repeat even though I've been around since the build. It just makes me so happy to see you happy and fills my head with all these amazing ideas when my dream of living in a van comes true.
I love your content! The personality you share, the excellent documenting skills you have as well as putting it together in a way that flows and keeps us interested, they're all things I keep coming back for. I came across your channel about a year ago and have always admired your approach to life. You can do anything! Thanks for another awesome vid, Linnea ❤️
You are an a amazing woman! I’m a 70 yr old granny. If I could go back in time 50 years, I would follow in your foot steps. Again, you are amazing!!! ❤️☘️
I love the upgrades! And I 100% agree, building your van yourself is such a great experience. We built our van ourselves and at the end we only had the electrical hook ups and plumbing left. We were so burnt out and wanted someone to do it for us but the quotes were ridiculously high and we couldn’t afford it. I am glad we pushed through and did it ourselves because if something is broken now, we can fix it!
Wow! I recently retired and went down the van build rabbit hole 3 years ago. I am so impressed with you, your skills and courage. I am fortunate that my van is being built by an amazing person. I have watched so many solo female (with dogs) TH-cam and all sorts of other things. I became a harvest host about a year ago and have met so many amazing people. No one as young or self sufficient as you! If you make it to California there is space in my driveway. And maybe we will meet on the road. All the best to you and Akela.
Everything looks great! I love the wood stove. Smart idea to have one tbh and I love how you can use the table in different areas of the van. Great job!
Congratulations LInnea, you are a true inspiration, and I just love the fact of you sharing the gratitude you have for even the simplest of benefits. I just signed up to subscribe to your channel, and am really excited to start a build. Thank you.
I so love the cabin-feel of your build, and the fact that you did it all yourself. I think you are so right about the advantages of understanding how everything was put together because it's DIY. I also think the aesthetic is so real and cozy. I get bored when a build is or looks pre-fab - so bland! It's clear to see that you are living authentically according to your interests and values. It's very inspiring.
I also get bored seeing van builds that look like they popped out from IKEA, no personality all streamlined and sterile. Hers she did herself and even the practical dog bed and live edge was creative.
I'm a 34 year old woman and I could never build out a van myself. Massive respect to your dedication and skills!!!! You are woman and girl I hear you ROAR!!!! 👏🏻💪🏻😘
The concept with swivel chair and prep/dinner table rocks!❤ Thanks. That also opens up the living area in a way When you don't have it closed off there.
I have struggled with social anxiety for years. It has gotten worse the older I get. I spend half of my time in the backcountry and never feel anxiety in the middle of nowhere alone. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am certain it will help people. I feel better knowing I am not alone. ❤
This young lady is the smartest person I've seen on TH-cam in a long ... long ... L O N G time. This is someone young people should look up to. Great job!
My wife & i enjoyed your video, and commend you on your creativity and abilities :) We lived full time just over 2 years on our custom-build 2017 Promaster 159 RB. It has simple "systems" also. She & I came up with a custom support arm that swings out a 1-gallon RotoPax & Spigot for "running water" that is filled (like your system) from under-sink jerry cans and a foot pump. The sink empties into a 2gal RotoPax that stealthily fits into a standard shopping-padded food-cooler bag when i want to empty it into a public restroom. I did go full-on-bling with the counters and had a 6' street-side, and 3' slider-door-area Stainless Steel counter top(s). Simple is the new Elegant :)
Any position you can put yourself in to not be dependent on traditional ideals is the best. For example I always had enough food but, would run out of water so would need to go in to find it. with the simple addition of a lifestraw water filtration bag, I have been able to stay out WAY LONGER. And I have been able to help others with water needs too which makes me feel even better. Food procurement will be my goal for 2024. Hunting, Fishing, processing, and foraging. Super excited about it.
I don't live in a van but I also use dog beds as floor cushions, becuz they're so comfy! (they are well made and have good durability). Kudos to you for the home you've built (and renovated) yourself, not a lot of people can do that and it's so cool! Stay safe and healthy! ❤🤍
YOU ARE A BAD ASS! I am soooo impressed with you and everything you've done here - what an inspiration to this 50 something with no experience who will be starting in a small SUV for camping trips soon. I'm easing into it. I love your Shepherd, too! One of my concerns is traveling with dogs and the fans answered some of my biggest questions - thank you!
"The Ghost of the Angel" is a true story and one of my original songs! I hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed the ideas that you gave me in this video of your van build. Thank you, Linnea!
You are the most well rounded young woman I have ever listened to! You’re an inspiration and to hear/see/feel your gratefulness for all that be makes this old lady hopeful for the future of humanity❤ Never lose yourself, you are amazing! What a lucky guy your bf is! Stay free!
The last shot with you wiping crumbs off of the slide out surface makes the whole video for me 🤗 Your willingness to show up exactly as you are has inspired me more than I can say through one of the most life changing years I have yet to adventure through. Thank you for your authenticity 🤍🙏

Minnesota here too, she must of had some great parenting.
She's adorable and beautiful,to me she is the antithesis of a true American
How you built and organized your van is absolutely genius! The fact that you did it yourself is over the top!
what a precious little doggo 😫❤️❤️❤️🫠 i love her ears and her pretty white coat, and thats nice to have a dog buddy with you for anytime youre flying solo
I like seeing all the different setups. A lot of this stuff is personal preference. To each their own. I like to have power and no power options.
I love how Akela is so content and peaceful looking when she's sleeping. I also think you are so so so resourceful!
I am in love with Akela🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏god bless you both on your journey 💞
Thank you so much!
Kerosene in a coffee can is dangerous. I know someone who accidentally burned down their family home that way. How do you keep it safe?
Glad 2 see a toilet in there.
I look up to you so much. You’re so much younger than me and yet you’re so much stronger, braver and wiser.
I agree with others here - and say thanks for sharing.
couldn't agree more
I LOVE that you did it all by yourself and just taught yourself as you went. LOVE the van. I also love how outdoorsy you are. Living my dream life.
i dunno what exactly you got for your dog but im gonna do some shameless advertising- a place i used to work in NH makes a rescue/carry harness for dogs and their hiking/backpacking humans called Pack-A-Paw, and it packs up real small and then opens up to be a simple sort of harness jacket for your dog that you can strap to yourself like a backpack to easily cary your dog if they get hurt and cant move during your outdoor activities
Iam impressed!!! Your a beautiful soul! Thanks ❤
100% agree! Thank you for inspiring us!
I totally agree! BTW I had a mountain hardware jacket that I loved!
One Van Lifer suggested pine chips for the toilet said they're awesome and smells great. 😊
You're amazing!
me too had huge draft horses trimmed them myself redid my porch got on roof could lift 100 pound bales of hay stack them. my hay guy couldnt believe my biceps lol was growing food had chickens but unexpectedly had bad stroke took left side fighting for life back i refuse to live in reg residential neighborhood
That's cool and it sounds ever so comforting let's hear the hardships you know reality
Great job with your van build Linnea
You have come a long way! Very impressed. Prayers for your happiness, joy, peace, health, and much more!
Your energy is amazing
I love your personality and your build. Definitely following you and Chris on your journeys. Thanks for sharing with us!
Iv built a bunch of rigs. Definitely respect your design ideas and building skills. Nice job all around!
Love watching the evolution. Expanding one's comfort zone is one of the keys to a happy life. Another is being OK with failing and viewing it as a learning experience. Keep growing and teaching. We'll be here! You're an inspiration!
Brilliant!!! Love your commentary at the end about the DIY perspective. You are an unusual human. Thank you for making me smile. Have a wonderful day.
I adore your home on wheels🥰
My favorite part is the fact that it does look like a cozy log cabin.
You have wonderful ideas!
I have seen the compost potty too.
Akela is adorable(sorry if misspelled)
I have the same DeWalt bag and drill☺️
You are inspiring. You are so much like my daughter that lives in Alaska, has her own fishing boat and it’s huge and goes out to sea a few months at a time with her his. My grandchildren have been raised on that boat. She spend her land time at their cabin and hunting for their meats. Nothing stops her from doing it ground up. So much like you. I admire this in you both.
She has not let her having a family slow her down. They are living a great life.
ya’ll live such an amazing life. thank u for letting us be a part of it
Great video Linnea and Akela
Hey girl!I'm so proud of I just realized I've been following you 3 yrs. You're such an inspiration
That is the smartest, simplest, most effective van desk I’ve ever seen!! Such a great idea.
Linnea, thank you for making this video. You are one of the more unique van dwellers, and your van is a reflection of you. I love your commitment, and the fact that you and Chris are spending the winter off grid completely.
Coffee while you watch a sunset! That's hardcore man, respect
Massive props for your DIY build & rebuild! Love your van's authentic design & your down to earth philosophy. Very inspirational!!!
Great job!
Your build is awesome! Also Akela looks like such a sweetie! I just wanna snuggle with her!
Such a lovely young lady....She has a great outlook on life, hard work, living in the outdoors, enjoying nature, ethical harvesting..
Linnea, you are such an amazing human to keep yourself going on the road with all your knowledge but building your own home must be so such a feeling of accomplishment. I sure wouldn’t know where to start. I’m really proud of you !!! 🌞🕯🤟🏽
your build and the fact that you did it all yourself is beyond impressive
Somehow stumbled on your video. Kudos to you for building your own van and all the upgrades you did. Love the wood stove! And I love the van's rustic homey vibe. Great job! Also enjoyed how you presented it and am impressed by all you have done and who you are. Safe travels!
Finally a real life affordable van build… Simple, clean, rustic, and minimalist; job well done.
Great job!
@kaltrinaDemiri hola 👋
This is THE first conversion that shows what it is like…YOU are awesome! God Bless You! YOU are Beautiful!!!! Thank you! ❤❤❤
Congratulations LInnea, you are a true inspiration, and I just love the fact of you sharing the gratitude you have for even the simplest of benefits. I just signed up to subscribe to your channel, and am really excited to start a build. Thank you.
love the way your wood burner blasts out the heat and you easily tell by the fact your wearing a coat and hat right next to it,happy days...
Her door is wide open but go ahead…
I so love the cabin-feel of your build, and the fact that you did it all yourself. I think you are so right about the advantages of understanding how everything was put together because it's DIY. I also think the aesthetic is so real and cozy. I get bored when a build is or looks pre-fab - so bland! It's clear to see that you are living authentically according to your interests and values. It's very inspiring.
I also get bored seeing van builds that look like they popped out from IKEA, no personality all streamlined and sterile. Hers she did herself and even the practical dog bed and live edge was creative.
I’m very impressed. Not many people would have the skills and determination to do this.
I love the lil wood stove! Super cozy! Yours is my favorite van build because it has the wood cabin vibe! (And Akela so cute in the background:))
@GenXGranny hola 👋
I'm a 34 year old woman and I could never build out a van myself. Massive respect to your dedication and skills!!!! You are woman and girl I hear you ROAR!!!! 👏🏻💪🏻😘
The concept with swivel chair and prep/dinner table rocks!❤
Thanks. That also opens up the living area in a way When you don't have it closed off there.
So well done. I love your home and how well you understand how it all works as youve build it out yourself.
Great job!
Yes! This is so close to the van build I'm working on! Less electrical bs and a fireplace!!!
How exciting! Get it!!
That is amazing what you did with the inside of the van! Especially the wood stove. Wow
You are the best presenter ever. Straight to the point. Energetic but not pushy. Thank you for this.
"The Ghost of the Angel" is a true story and one of my original songs! I hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed the ideas that you gave me in this video of your van build. Thank you, Linnea!
You are the most well rounded young woman I have ever listened to! You’re an inspiration and
to hear/see/feel your gratefulness for all that be makes this old lady hopeful for the future of humanity❤ Never lose yourself, you are amazing! What a lucky guy your bf is! Stay free!
As an old cast iron woodstove fan it will conduct & radiate nearly 50% more heat than steel. God Bless You Young Lady 🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸🦅👨🏼🌾
The last shot with you wiping crumbs off of the slide out surface makes the whole video for me 🤗 Your willingness to show up exactly as you are has inspired me more than I can say through one of the most life changing years I have yet to adventure through. Thank you for your authenticity 🤍🙏
