sir one thing I was to ask you that why health professionals have different opinion about transmission of rabies, some say saliva is infectious even outside the host and some say it become non infectious outside the host. I have came across a well known pediatrician who has also written some book on rabies and I read his answers on quora about rabies and he places very different opinion on rabies that make people much fearful and paranoid about rabies transmission. So sir I want to ask you what to do in such situations because we can not have different opinion on medical facts and how to prevent misinformation spreading in the name of awareness. I think if by mistake someone come to your channel all his doubts will be cleared and I am lucky to be a part of your youtube chanel.

my dear Yash, there is no confusion regarding rabies at all.
rabies virus remain alive only in NERVOUS TISSUES.
from brain it travels down to salivary gland through nerves. it gets secreted in saliva and transferred to bite sites.again at the bite site it gets attached to the nerves and travels towards brain.this is the natural cycle.
so throughout the cycle it multiplies in nervous tissues only.
now coming to your question, once it gets outside the body where no nervous tissue is there it dies within couple of seconds.

Hi sir,
Two people(Neighbours) were bitten by a stray dog at the same time(Early in the morning)...I mean to say they both were bitten without much time gap and they both took the same medicine i.e., Anti-Rabies vaccination nearby Govt hospital.All the vaccines are also completed but unfortunately one of the both has died within 3 days of taking the last vaccine due to rabies. I have a query sir,
1. Will there be any problem to the second person in future?
2. How the rabies varies from person to person....does it depend on immunity?

Neighbour dog ne scratches kiya tha 2 tarik par us time maine kuch vaccine nahi liya. usi same dog ne ek teeth gardi 5 tarik par tab jake maine vaccine liya wo vi 5 tarik ke 26.27 hour delay hua first dose k liye. I also complted my vaccine according to schedule. 0. 3 And 7 from government hospital. This incident is about 2.5 years ago. Sir can you please tell , i accidentally touched upper part of nose of a street dog which is very friendly. Then i somehow touched my eyes and teeths . This was 1.5 months ago . Sir, I had completed 4 doses of intradermal rabies vaccine 6 months ago. Last week, I got a test done for rabies virus antibodies known as Rabies Virus Antibody (M). It think it measured IgM antibodies. The report showed a reading of 0.32 EU/ml whereas I think the minimum antibody levels for providing protection should be 0.5 IU/ml as recommended by WHO.

Will the same antibody test (IgM) show a reading of 0.0 EU/ml in non- vaccinated individuals or a non-zero reading will always show up even in non-vaccinated individuals? Please reply sir.

Last rabies booster rabivax s vaccine I took on day 5th instead of day 3. Does it provide immunity for three months? I am 40 yrs old healthy male also I tested my rabies antibodies titre after 14 days and it is 4.0 EU/ML. In last 12 months I had taken almost 15 rabies vaccine. one is whole course and two booster every three months

Usko ek neighbour normal dog ne teeth se scratches kiya tha. us time usne kohi arv nahi li. Fir se usi dog ne 4.5 din baad ek teeth gardi thoda sa. Us bite ke 26.27 hour baad usne arv ki 1 st dose liya. Aur usne arv ka aur 2 doses as per schedule complete kiya. At that time he just took 0.3 and 7 from gov. Hospital. This incident is almost 2.5 years ago. kya wo safe hai ab usko future koi problem to nahi hoga.

Sir please response it’s very important for me : I have completed 5 doses of rabies vaccine 06 june on gluteal area and realised that it’s not recommended and i restart another fresh dose on deltoid. After completing 4th dose i got deep scratch on my face ( left cheek) today by a cat and my 5th dose on 13 august. Now the question : agar main 2 booster doses following 0 and 3 ( 07 august and 10 august ) lagao aur 13 august ko 5th dose complete karo toh kiya ye accah hai mere liye ?

first - ARV should not be given for next 90 days.
second - ARV should be given irrespective of the time gap.
WHO - in 2018 proposed 3months concept.
