I have a question though: How to categorise the bites? Also, is immunoglobulin required in case of re-exposure after a long time (let's say after 10 years) ?
Category I - touching or feeding animals, animal licks on intact skin
Category II - nibbling of uncovered skin, minor scratches or abrasions without bleeding
Category III - single or multiple transdermal bites or scratches, contamination of mucous membrane or broken skin with saliva from animal licks, exposures due to direct contact with bats
RIG can be given after 5 years of re-exposure ….

symptoms seen were excessive vomiting of clear yellow color , weakness , lethargy , inelastic skin , two seizures and fast heartbeat was noticed few minutes before death .
what do you think about it ?
only on the basis of history, it's difficult to judge. clinical examination is required.
however, as per the symptoms described by you rabies can't be excluded

sir why is Intradermal vaccine given ( 0,3,7,28 ) ?
and not ( 0,3,7,14 ) ?
because antibody response comes to a maximum with day 28
Respected Sir, if a person has any unnoticed exposure to rabies(before taking preexposure rabies vaccination) and after somedays he took preexposure vaccine and completed the doses of preexposure vaccination. And he is alive after 1 month of preexposure. Then is he considered as safe from rabies even from the past incident? Sorry if disturbed you sir.
1. unnoticed dog bite doesn’t seem logical here.
2. Dogbite has got only two possibilities. YES or NO. There is nothing called probably. if probably comes, it has to be considered YES.
3. now, considering the dog bite to be YES, the doses which you have taken is incomplete.
4. incubation period of rabies varies from 1 week to 1 year.
CONCLUSION - if dogbite is there, pre-exposure prophylaxis is not sufficient, if dogbite is not there, then you are safe

Sir, please give me advice. My dog is four years old and regularly vaccinated and quite healthyand normal. Last month or so, he was suffering from respiratory problem & continuously vommiting. I thought perhaps small bone got stuck up on his upper palate. So I opened his mouth to inspect it but there was nothing. I injected some oral cough syrup deep into his mouth with my fingers. Afterwards, I noticed that a small boil (छाला) on my palm has got broken & ruptured. Maybe while I was administering medicine to him. Am I in a serious danger of catching rabies through him? Do I need vaccination? Please guide.

I tensed becoz that type of pink skin i have after shoe blister..then the dog lick it.after that incident when i spray sanitizer on it the skin was not burning.
pink skin wound doesn’t burn because it’s epithelialised.
in those cases, rabies virus can’t spread ……

Sir I want to ask a question. There was a rabid dog which people killed and then me and my friend dig a hole to put it there. My friend carried that dog with a Y shaped stick and put it in the hole and broke the part of the stick with which it carried the dog and also put that part of stick in the hole with the remainder part of that stick. Then we started to put soil on the dog with sticks and suddenly my friend hit my finger with the remaining part of that stick accidentally i felt the hit but no blood was drawn. It has been 2 years since the incident happened, I didn't get any vaccine at that time but I am worried now, should I get start the vaccine now? Please answer me sir it would be very helpful

3 months ago, a stray dog licked my finger, I was in a doubt that I had a small uncover skin in my finger. I have started my vaccination after 5 days of the incident.
Doctor recommended 3 doses of rabid vaccine.
The schedule was 13th oct, 16th oct, 19th oct. I have taken 16th date vaccine on 17th and 19th date vaccine on the same time.
It's been approx 3 months.
Now am in doubt should I have to restart the vaccination?

You should have observed the dog for 10 days.
The case where the dog remained alive for 10 days, three doses would have been sufficient.
Or else you should have taken complete course of ARV

there is no need to restart. There is no need to take any extra vaccine. Just take your remaining doses as per schedule.

Sir मेने 4 doses of रेबीज वैक्सिनेशन start किया था। Sir मेने देखा था की मुझे last dose में एक नर्स ने vaccine दिया था और उन्होंने बिना Diluent मिलाए ही दे दिया । Sir ओर वो नर्स ने मुझे 4th dose ही लगाया था और बाकी सब अलग sir ने लगाए थे और उस नर्स ने कितना ml लेना है रेबीज vaccine देने वाले Sir को पूछा, Sir क्या उस नर्स ने सही से वैक्सीन नहीं दिया? Sir क्या हर 4 doses में Diluent mix करके लगाना पड़ता है sir please help me 😭🙏

Sir i just got bitten by a rabid dog (confirmed through my observation, as the dog was drooling alot), the bite was on my foot through my shoes, so no blood just two minor abrasion with little red marks.
I got vaccinated within 30 mins of the bite, with abhayrab intramuscular vaccine on my right deltoid.
Sir tomorrow is my day 3, im worried right now that, since the wound was not at all deep i required RIG or not?
Another doubt is that im in real worry about the measurement of the dosage by the practitioner sir. Plz guide me how do i confirm the proper dosage as its very imp as you informed sir, and shall i take it in my right arm or left?

as per your history it seems to be category two bite so HRIG is not required in your case.
You should get IM doses on alternate shoulder.

if the bite falls under category 3, then HRIG is required.
since your previous 3 doses were incomplete so this time HRIG can be taken safely if indicated along with ARV …..

Afterwards, I noticed that a small boil (छाला) on my palm has got broken & ruptured. Maybe while I was administering medicine to him. Am I in a serious danger of catching rabies through him? Do I need vaccination? Please guide.
