Marki Mark great video and like most of us we have a slow day fishing now and again. When I use to bait fish I found using berley helped to bring the fish to me. I used chicken pellets mixed with cat food and water , roll it up in a ball put it in the freezer the night before . When you get to the fishing spot throw it out and cast towards the berley. Maybe give that a go .
Thanks for the kind words mate & tips. I Was berleying so many cubed pillies however just floating to the bottom absolutely nothing. I've used kitten food and oats before. Tight-lines mate and I'll give it a go. I do have some epic footage coming up though, still getting through the late winter footage :)
Once again, great video. Found as well that the waters are a bit still at the moment, spent a whole week in Forster and caught 2 undersized bream. Not what I was looking for but nevertheless we caught something. Hoping to go out around Sydney again this weekend. Great vid mate.
Thanks for the kind words. I've noticed its just starting to heat up now, as the warmer waters are starting to creep in. I've landed some good fish and lost some hoodlums. Got a bucket load of content, just need to edit them properly. BIG things to come :) Thanks for the support mate & hope you get some good hookups on your next session. Tight-lines!
Hey mate, no sinkers just unweighted with bait. That way you can feel the fish biting, drifts slower snd more natural down the water column and you can hookset fish. Can also tell when your bait is finished :)
Late Autumn and easy winter is when hair tail breed especially in the Hawkesbury River. Take a trip to the Coal and Candle Creek on a cold winter's morning and throw out a Pilly on ganged hooks and you won't be disappointed. Becareful of the teeth on a hairtail
even ive been having really slow days man its been bad for content although ive been getting something to show for it i love fishig botany its my main content
Good stuff man, don't worry perseverance will pay off. Mind you i've got a backlog of content and big things coming! :) Keep up the great work mate. Yewww.
Fishin' with Marki Mark can i have ure email or another contact ive also contacted Windsor bait and tackle on an issue that i want to bring up to fisheries regarding the treatment of our waterways if u dont want me to email u the pics all g but i would love support from influential fisherman
Yeah man sure thing, my details are in the video description and about page. It's great that your taking a proactive approach on the matter. Keep it up!
Woo Chang Definitely has their pros and cons! Pretty handy if you wanna change soft plastics, hooks or squid jigs on the fly and fish won’t mind them if they are busting up as they are going a reaction bite and it doesn’t interfere with the action of the lure. If your going for something large go straight from leader to hook or if the fish are particular leader shy on the day or the type of species your after are timid! I haven’t had one fail on me on medium sized fish, but wouldn’t use it if your kingfishing unless your using something a bit more robust like mustad ultra point fastatch clip! Hope that helps mate and tight lines.
@@FishingwithMarkiMark Thanks for the advice. Will definately try it as Im always changing hooks to jigheads for sp and/or squid jig. I usually leave a snap swivel and clip the sp jighead on and squid jig vice versa but never thought about putting a hook on it!! Why I didn't think about that earlier. 😊 Also when you fish without a sinker do you leave the bail open ? How about your drag? Ps. Loving the vids. Deserves alot more subs!
Woo Chang Thanks for the kind words my dude! Umm all depends on the location and what I’m fishing for! If I’m using circle and the location has a rod holder I’ll leave it medium drag so that the hook sets! If the place has nonrod holders and I’m going for kingfish i leave the bail open and watch my line and close bail on tight drag to set the hook and ready to fight! If it’s really windy loose drag because the line comes off the spool! It just depends on the fish I’m going for the hooks im using and the location! Hope that makes sense :) cheers!
@@FishingwithMarkiMark no worries mate. Makes perfect sense. I'm from Melb and heading up to Merimbula in couple weeks with the fam. Will give the snap swivel hook and weightless rig a go. Cheers 😁👍
Depends what your chasing mate, poddy mullet are good for flathead! Larger mullet you can butterfly for crabs. I think you can catch the odd jewfish on a butterflied mullet and if you catch one yellowtail size you can catch the odd Kingy too :) Hope that helps.
Tell me about it great hooks, however I've changed again from Gamakatsu to Hayabusa and BKK as I've found that Gama's bent to easily unfortunately, not enough carbon :(
I tie my pilchard cubes with a very thin (hair thin) stretchable nylon. I wrap the nylon around the bait onto my hook. I find this method works really well as the fish can't steal the bait as easy. Not too much nylon around the bait and hook as this will turn the fish off the bite
Nice edit man just subscribed. If u dont minded check out my channel that would be great. Cheers Hooks are very important. Particularly when the fish are a bit spooked
That title is the best hook lol
Hahahaha thanks man, catchy hey! :D see what i did there, catchy.. haha!
Good fishing marki and good videos
Thanks for the kind words bud, all the best & tight-lines yewww!!

Thanks for the kind words Carissa, definitely was a tough day however! :(
Yo i will never forget port botany it was my FAVORITE fishing place until we found out the water was polluted thier 😭😭😭😭😢😢😢
Yes unfortunately a lot of pollutants from the industrial runoffs :( but not too bad for the pelagic fish.

Nice one mate...
I didn't see any sinkers btw...do you used a sinker? Or just bait?
👌

@@FishingwithMarkiMark thanks for the advice mate... cheers
I usually don’t fish in the winter very slow for me
adam murphy It sure is slower than summer but you still gotta fish all year round :) its Trevally and John Dory Season!

Why do you have your drag so loose? You should try to do it tigher it helps with the hook set.👍🏼👍🏼
Haha your right :P Definitely, they were such small fish I just wanted to draw out the fight, similar to Ajing style of fishing.
Very Cool Congratulations Fisherman!
Stay with God and good *Fishing!* 👍🎣🐠😎
Thanks for the kind words. Tight-Lines :)
I also fished at the second place
One day you should try lure fishing.
garfield silva Definitely! I have more videos coming up of throwing lures on some top water action. So good! Stay tuned and Tight-lines! :)

No worries mate, goodluck :) !
is the first place lane cove
Nahh mate, south of Sydney!
First time seeing a snap swiveled hook. They work ok? Might have to give it a crack. Guess it's good for quick change up on diff hooks.

Woo Chang someone told me once about this set up, if the fish is super hungry then you are in luck or it’s no good..
What do u think about mullet bait ?

I used gamakatsu hooks. They stay sharp. 😁

Botany Bay!
