Ya reckon the 6000 Stella is too big? I’m thinking about making my first Stella purchase but thinking maybe the 5000 with the higher gearing for faster retrieve for stick baits and slugs. Thoughts?
Hey mate, definitely depends on your target species and what rod and line you want to put on it. The 5000-6000 share same body sizes just different spool sizes. I like to put PE3 line on the 6000 if I was to have a 5000 you'd put PE2.5 line on it. I find the 6000 a good all round for medium-large species off the rocks.I also have a 5000 Twinpower FD with PE2 line i like to use it to catch bonnies, tailor, smaller kings and salmon. Hope that helps!
@@FishingwithMarkiMark yeah sweet. Might look into the 6000 then. I find throwing lures around 60grams Snaps the 30 lb braid line when casting sometimes (goodbye lure) so I reckon I need to bump up the braid to a 60-80. Do you have this problem on lighter line?
@@mrsbradpittiful I throw 60-80 Gram lures all day with my shimano 6k and 30lb line, but it breaks at 55lb. Have to find yourself a nice quality braid, with a higher breaking strain. Also its not uncommon to run into a bad batch of braid every now and again

Thanks man glad you enjoyed! I tie my leader onto a the swivel with a uni knot then tie it off to the split ring which is attached to the lure :)
