Great work! Love checking out your videos! I'm in the middle of an '01 EM2 resto mod myself, next step is manual swap. Your videos have been very helpful and I look forward to more videos
Hey man i recently relaced motor in an em2 changed clutch as well but im having problems going into gear while car running .. is it possible that i could have trans in a gear and linkage not matching shifter ...
What part of Iowa are you guys in.. I live in Waterloo. I'm about to start my civic manual conversion.. any help would be greatly appreciated.. I've never done anything like this. So hopefully it goes smoothly
Been watching all these civic swap videos. Recently purchased a 2001 civic ex sedan with the auto. Hoping to swap to manual but the wiring harness is daunting
Did you get the engine brace at Harbor Freight or from Amazon. I know you linked Amazon but I want to be sure before I order from them. Amazon shows in their picture of the product of the engine brace you linked to, that they are just bolts with the handle welded directly on a standard nut on the top side for the adjuster up/down handle whereas Harbor Freight and the engine brace you show in your video @ 1:47 has a much bigger and beefier (nut/handle) on the top side. The adjuster on the top side seems much sturdier on yours and the one at HF from the picture. The pictures on Amazon scare me that the up/down adjuster handle is simply welded to a standard nut and I would rather get the beefier one from HF if that is the case but if the Engine Brace you got was from Amazon then the picture they have must be wrong. I hope I made sense. Thank you!
New subscriber I’m 8 months late but I needed to see this. I have a question, what size transmission belhousing bolts did you use to connect the transmission to the engine?
They're 17mm bolts. I don't know the length or thread pitch. You should be able to use the automatic transmission bolts. We ended up using the bolts from the manual transmission from when we pulled it out of the parts car.
No way? So automatic transmission bolts should be the same exact bolts? I have an automatic trans on the engine but I’m swapping out to a manual transmission into a vtec motor. That should fit? How about the flywheel bolts
I'm not 100% sure since its been a while since we completed it, but I'd assume the bellhousing to engine bolts should be the same. We used the manual ones, but I think the autos were the same. You'll have to test that out, or do some more research. As for the flywheel bolts, we used the manual trans ones. Its probably best to get new flywheel bolts anyway.

I'll be joining ya when my LX's transmission goes out, she's only at 148k miles but I just got a feeling.

Here is the Amazon pic of what I am talking about.... images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/519c43ZqkxL._SX569_.jpg
Yes, the one I used is from Harbor Freight.
Thanks for responding back, I went ahead and went with the HF one and cancelled the Amazon one I had ordered. Appreciate the info!!!
where do you find all of the bolt torque specs?
Cool 👍🏼, were you able yo reuse the automatic subframe? Or had to get a manual version?
Had to use a manual subframe
Why did you swap sub frame. Does the rear mount not line up?

Those brakes don't fit with steel pan only aluminum pan
I like your haircut.
Thanks!
