This is one of the absolute best Honda tutorials i have ever seen. Video photography is superb- full brightness and clarity; sound is clear and crisp- no annoying sound track covering up the clear and precise instructions. Only suggestion is not to use the Phillips head screwdriver which tends to expand the roll pin. You may have a pin which is easy to drive out but in my experience the bitch pin earned its name because it doesn't just tap out, and you don't want to beat on the linkage etc. Best way is to use a C clamp and 12mm bolt pressing the pin into a socket into which the pin is pressed. Other than that your video is superb. I recently rebuilt the D series 5 speed, which went well, but I also replaced the clutch twice since first one was defective. Now something went bad in that area and i think it is the pilot bearing or throwout bearing. Thanks for your beautiful tutorial!

It's a REALLY common issue in the s2000 community. The transmission is difficult to fit in the tunnel and onto the block so people use the threads to close the gap, but the dowels aren't in yet and get crushed.

How much was the manual transmission & where did you get it from?
Would be the same for 2000 Honda EX's 5 speed?

!!! This does not work on a 2001 Civic LX Coupe. The subframe has to be removed, just warning you all out there. Alternatively, you could take the trans out the top. Or possibly remove engine mounts and scooch that engine around to make more room, idk. Any other tricks?

Hey I don't know where in Central Texas you are, but I'm in Copperas Cove and I have a 92 CB7 sedan with an F20B DOHC 5speed swap I picked up. It is an absolute wiring nightmare, MRE cases are jealous of how ratf***ed the wiring in this thing is.
I could really use a hand from someone who has an idea of what they're doing since I'm losing my mind and patience with the damned thing!

I think you can honestly only remove the passenger's side axel when removing the transmission. Another thing I would suggest is removing or at least loosening the axel nuts while the car is on the ground. Much easier especially if it has never had them out before!

Do you know if you can rebuild an A000 transmission into a B000 with a rebuild kit. And if so do you know of any good kits

    • @HellHoundOne
      @HellHoundOne 3 ปีที่แล้ว

You can not turn into a b000. A b000 has 40mm bearings and a000 35 mm bearings. However there are transmission calculators online that you can use like zeal auto works and show what you happens when you do gear swaps. IF you really wanted to, swap final drive, this is a drop in affair. However the cost of said final drive, it is easier to just by an ex si trans b000 and with out the work.
Whatever you do, stay with parts for same year ranges. 92-95 96-00 as they changed over the years. Gear stacks are swappable shift forks are different.

Is there a particular order to removing/installing transmission? For example can you remove the mount first then transmission bolts into the engine or vice versa or doesn’t matter

Hey, I need help please. I loosened my lower ball joint nut and now whenever I try to tighten it, the whole bolt just spins. And if you look at the top of the ball joint there isn't a head on that bolt it's inside that housing. Apparently the trick is to jam the nut by prying one of the arms with a pry bar bit I can't seem to find a good angle to pry on the arms at all please help

Yes you need to apply pressure then tighten the nut and make sure the ball joint stud doesn’t spin. Cause it won’t be tight. This happened to me. I would suggest buying a new ball joint. I tried to do a u-turn and next thing you know my whole tire is sideways and my fender was ruined!!

@@vadski3469 just as you said when you try to tighten the nut the stud ( bolt ) spins. It’s not tightening it’s just spinning. I know it’s confusing but it happened to me and bad accident can happen. I suggest changing it 100%. Or you hold the stud with vice grips then tighten the nut

Getting a re ring kit for engine gonna have the head shaved just in case it's warped because it did over heat. I was going to do ls rods and GX pistons but money is an issue.

    Well thought out:
    1st- tools neeeded 4 job
2nd- did NOT rush thru the process
Last- test replacement, let viewers know what
we SHOULD expect if done correctly
