"The lightest putter in the world" sounds like a great marketing tag for about 3 seconds until you think about it. Putting is almost entirely an exercise in weight distribution. Your goal can't be to remove that variable completely when creating a viable product.

Right, you'd think they would have done all the weight saving so then they could add perimeter weighting to make it more stable/forgiving and bring it up to a typical weight

    • @EverettJohnson-js2zw

Exactly. Based on the physics of the golf swing, putter stroke etc, why would they think making it lighter at the head is a good idea?

Add to that that the average golfer will have longer putts that will need some weight behind them. To me it will force the user to have to hit the ball much harder, causing the introduction of more mistakes with stroke and/or off center hits

As a design engineer I can say that this is 100% the result of user error. I love Rick, but he completely destroyed that thing. He cross threaded it and jammed it in there with the allan key. POM otherwise known as Delrin is an amazing plastic and I use it all the time with threads, it's very strong. I think Rick breaking the product and blaming bad engineering is a really bad look. In fairness to Rick, it's very easy to cross-thread stuff like this so a warning should be included with the product but this is really just user error. They didn't even mention in the video anything about warranty or anything, maybe if this happened to you they would send you a free replacement but that wasn't discussed which is sloppy for a review channel this big. I think the putter is stupid, but Rick really just threw it under the bus because he broke it.

Taking all the weight away, is counter productive, unless you then add the weight as far to the back and sides as possible, as they do with the 10k drivers, making it more stable. Whoever engineered this, forgot some of the principles in making good putters.

I love your videos on these club reviews, but for putters I'd love to see you go on a practice green and take some long putts. Like, what if the strength of these putters are for 30+ foot putts? Would be interesting to see, though these look like garbage lol

I'm okay with competitively priced products failing reviews as at least they're trying to compete but falling short, but products priced stupidly high with clickbait headlines to sell failing just feels better. Horrid price and a horrid product.

They really missed an opportunity to leverage the materials: heel-and-toe oriented tungsten or even just stainless steel weight pods or screws could've really done something toward superlative MOI instead of "lightest putter ever".

I’ve always preferred a little bit of weight to my putters. Just a personal thing for myself of course, but I have heard other guys say the same thing. They prefer some heft to the head of the putter. I don’t see the advantage of a lightweight putter, especially a super light weight putter that weighs less than the credit card I’ll have to use to buy it.
Titanium and a huge price does not equal a better score.

without perimeter weighting, you have to put normal style. You can’t use the claw grip. You need to keep your right arm straight thru contact cant do that with the claw. Rely on the shoulders

you should after doing your studio reviews, take whatever is being tested and test it on 3 holes to get real world results. the results will either confirm or change it. artificial putting surfaces can't come close to the real thing. it would also be better to have the course pro or fellow youtubers and current tour guest use them and get their results.

I have no idea why a company would want to make and promote "The Lightest Putter Ever Made." I put lead tape on my putter to add weight to feel more stability, especially in windy conditions. A light putter is just plain stupid. IMO.

  • @richardmanion6132
    @richardmanion6132 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

I wouldn't hold it against the putter that you missed a bunch of them. Several of them wobbled left to right, some actually hopped off the matt, and many were heading in but turned a foot left in the last 3 feet of travel. You matt needs calibrated and conditioned.

    They missed an opportunity...
Why wouldn't they just forge a solid piece of titanium or just use the POM "plastic" head so its super light then just parimeter weight the hell out of it at the factory with tungsten to bring it upto a normal weight and make it extremely stable...
You could even weight different areas differently so you get more closing or opening of the face during the swing. Think draw or fade bias...
