13:05 is an absolute yank left (the path is horrendous) and then blames the putter for not being forgiving on off center hits. With a path like that, it’s going to go left no matter where on the face you hit it

Just goes to show that a putter is a very personal choice as I totally disagree with Rick regarding the DF3.
I love my DF3 and have so much confidence with it. I find the face very stable and does not twist as it does in Ricks assessment. However, during my LAB fitting, I found the heavier head a lot more stable than the standard head..maybe that's the difference?
As always though Rick, love the videos, and thanks for reigniting my love of the game over the years.

As usual, Rick's ego gets in the way. He was best with the DF3 but clearly the counterbalance works for him. He should put a counterbalanced DF3 in the bag but he won't because he's more concerned with looking cool.

Slightly strange to suggest that the LAB twists loads on off centre hits when it is designed to do the exact opposite. In your previous review you holed 12 in a row with the LAB but then gave up on it after playing 2 holes out on the course? Ive just got a LAB myself and i would argue that im holing some putts now that were not centre hits and definitely would have missed with my previous putter. It takes some getting used to, especially just letting the putter head do its thing instead of trying to manipulate the face, and distance control takes some bedding in but for me personally I'm hitting my intended start line way more often now.

    • @canyonaro
      @canyonaro 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

@@morten3465I play a LAB Mezz and I partially agree with his comment about off-center hits. You get so used to the perfect balance that the torque from an off-center hit is more noticeable. That doesn't mean the putt is worse though - all of these putters have very high MOI.
Also he has the TPT shaft in it, which is extremely communicative. I play the Accra shaft, which has a smoother feel.

I'm sure this works well for a more straight-back straight-through swing for someone with a lot of back bend, but as someone who stands more upright when putting which gives more of an arc to the stroke, I NEED the feel & feedback of a putter that actively wants to open & close as the pendulum swings otherwise I have no sense of where the face is at any given point in the stroke. It's not a flawed concept but it's also not a silver bullet that can fix anyone's putting.

Interestingly enough, I started this summer with the Evenroll X that you are trying out, and anything 10 feet and under was great. Where I was having trouble is with longer putts and distance control, but only on the X putter and not their more standard putter. Switched to the LAB putter, and the distance control was much better. Good friend of mine had the same issue with the Evenroll X and went to LAB with better results on longer putts, just like I did.

It’s weird a lot of your putts go straight down the laser line to the hole, but then they squiggle off to the left and right. I don’t think that’s the putter’s fault. I think it’s something with the green where it’s not perfectly flat if you’re aiming for the middle of the hole and straight down that green laser line.

To an extent yes, but if you are using an old blade or something, a modern mallet putter WILL make you a more consistent putter, the tech is really that good today.

@@craciunator99 replacing a 40 year old blade putter will make a difference, sure. You dont need to spend 400, you need to practice.

Your putting grip does not work well with the zero torque putter designs. The right hand tries to guide it too much. I had to switch to the lefty grip with my df 2.1 and it made a world of difference

His right had does nothing. He uses the two finger grip. All it does is guide.

I do think Rick is on to something. One of the reasons I use a toe hang putter is I tend to strike toe-wards and I can feel + see it helping me on those.

Interesting demo Rick! I appreciate the innovation taking place in golf equipment recently especially what is happening with short game products. Making the game easier for all levels of players is a good thing. Kudos to Evenroll and Lab for the work they are doing to provide options to golfers.

Another gimmick that has made it through the hurdles to market. Lab.
Once it has caught on, pour the money into marketing reeking the benefits. It’s just placebo. It will wear off. Skill prevails. Find something that feels good and stick with it through hell and high water.😊

Guys, the shaft MUST go into the head. Anything with a weird hosel is not going to perform. The shaft MUST go into the head like Lab golf. Otherwise it’s just a regular putter.

Zzzzzz....sorry but frustrated by the topic. With clubs, in this case a putter, many beliefs or statements are made. Often, these statements are made with no data to support them. Another gimmick designed to make money off of golfers, who struggle with putting, who don't want to pay their dues and do the necessary work to improve upon their stoke, learning to read greens and speed control. Sorry there are no shortcuts to being a good putter. In the end I don't think any of it holds up to any scrutiny. Ultimately, what matters is the degree of confidence that the golfer has in their putter. With all love and respect. Aiken. South Carolina
