I watched like 8 videos claiming to show the difference between glossy and matte finishes and this one is definitely the best because you brought the same photo in both finishes and edited the video well enough to clearly show the difference. Well done! If I may suggest, mention in the video title that you are showing the difference using the same photo. I think that will bring more traffic. I think there a lot of people like me who are confused about the difference in finishes.
Good suggestion, changed the title. TH-cam automatically pushes the big channels first. To get more exposure I need more subscribers. I mainly do tech reviews, there are a lot of tech reviewers. Not many that spend as much personal income lol.
Thank you so much for making this video. It was exactly what I was looking for, being able to see the same photo side by side is amazing. As a friendly tip I think you’d get significantly more views if you put glossy vs non glossy comparison in the title. I imagine I’m not the only one who was looking for that specifically
@@sparketech Yeah. It becomes pretty obvious when they fake gush over an AI art piece for 5 minutes without going over anything technical. Lol. Thank you for being real.

!!JUST A WARNING FOR EVERYONE!!: Displates are great but the mounting stickers could be better. If your room stays cool throughout the year you should be fine, but if rooms get above 80'F they will slowly fall off. Good alternatives are screw in magnets. Besides that I love Displates!
Your video is one of the few that actually shows the 3D magnet (at the time of this comment at least). I was curious to see what the artwork with the 3D magnet(s) would look like on a wall. So thank you for the detailed assembly and review! I also understand and agree with your sentiment about the 3D magnets offsetting the artwork from the wall making it a little more secure (as it looks like the artwork has a slight concave shape where the middle pops out away from the wall more than the edges). I think I'll be getting the 3D magnets, as I also like its offset effect. Thanks!
Looks like they took your advice about adding a tab for accessories. Thanks for the video. Wanted to see how the gloss looked compared to the matte and also how the 3d Magnets looked.
Normally I go for the matte without frame too. Seems like most people do, because with a frame the design is a bit smaller and and it tends to lead focus away. I actually just bought 5 (discount of course) of them! I already had 3 (2 small, 1 big), but since I have my lay-out planned I went for different styles I can combine. I know someone who switches them from time to time, something quite smart to do for Displate posters, because they're *easily* replaceable. I have a style focussed on iconic stylized movie, serie, Anime and game characters and I have a style that shows calmness, creativity and boldness as one mood board (kinda hard to explain though, show don't tell X) But when it comes to quality and pricing, I really recommend saving your favorites and waiting for the right moment. I think we all know Displate can get pricy, but they are well aware of that. I think Displate is quite active on that, they also know how to get too much ads on TH-cam. The limited edition I haven't tried. When I looked up the pricing, I don't know if it's worth it. They double the price (compared without discount) and the frame is the same. Despite design sometimes should be really honorable (I do like the dedication on detail from the designer), I think it's too much, that works more as an wow factor. It is resellable, but that doesn't mean €124 (Europe) is honorable. Still, they get sold too fast and for too any people, so I don't think my voice matters that much for it.. I think some people are too rich :'D
On the one end the company does not get all the money, the designer gets a part of the funds and some affiliates that make income also get a kick back. I prefer the gloss despite the extra cost, I started with all matte. Check out my newer videos and my background now and all the lights and cloud look, the paintings really pop.
@@michaelhawkins7389 watch for the sales is my best advice they often have a buy more save more sale. It can get expensive especially when you add gloss, larger sizes, 3D magnets. Art in general value tends to be subjective, go to an art museum 🤕
@@michaelhawkins7389 Better example if I purchase from a big box store I have a small hook and nail and are generally low quality abstact and cheap in build and image detail. Some would rather that kind of art which is fine. The cool thing is the custom built of your choosing with a list far larger than any regular store and sent out basically anywhere with detailed images. No holes in the wall, custom the way you want has some real value. I normally never buy art, last piece of art was cheap from Walmart the wood frame was easy to scuff, the main part was metal and relatively plain saying "Home Made" and can not be custom sized or glossy or matt... Some art museums / gallary's that may be more likely called sell their art but are usually in the 10s of thounds plus, generally selling one of a kind items.
I just hammer a small nail (more like a strong tack) through the centre of each magnet. Might be risky for renters. But I've seen too many comments online about the magnets (the adhesive) failing.

I would prefer all my magnets were 3D magnets since they stick far better. What I don't get is why they didn't allow the normal magnets to be upgraded to 3D but had to be purchased separately.
The 3D magnets stick better no matter the size. But the plates can have a bit of curve that makes it not completely flat and can overtime push off the wall. I've had at least 2 of my displates fall off of the wall including a small one. The only picture without 3D magnets now is a large one held up by about 5 or 6 regular magnets. A large picture that fell off the wall actually damaged the drywall

@@skyflow_kreative_imaging You might have misunderstood... the picture was pushing against the wall despite the regular magnets since the height wasn't enough to keep the image from touching the wall. Not all my paintings had that issue. My 3D magnets hold the image off the wall further and stick much better. But multiple pictures with the regular included magnets did come off the wall overtime till I increased the number of magnets. The small paintings should have at least 2 magnets believe includes 1. The large paintings should have 3 magnets and includes 2. My large image zero issues with 2 3D magnets.

Ok, I may be in the minority, but I am seeing A LOT of the image being darkened out in the glossy. I realize the glossy sheen is really nice but it seems very dark and detail is lost. While the matte is more dull, it also seems to show more art. I kind of prefer the matte. Am I missing something? Good video by the way.
