I’ll bet that’s delicious. Blesses me hearing you thank the Lord for the persimmons and the old folklore re: winter gonna be harsh if the seed shows a spoon, etc...fascinating. TY for posting.

When I was little we had a wild persimmon tree and we’d dare each other to eat a green one😂. If you know you know! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤣😝🤤What I learned from you tho is the frost sweetens them up! Love your channel! ❤Leslie Florence Alabama

My Daddy said Mamaw ( his mama) made the best persimmon pudding. I wish I had tried it before she went to Heaven. Daddy had to cut his tree down and it was usually loaded. Ours never has had any. I’m going to ask him to let a shoot come up from his stump enough to get some cuttings from it. I will definitely try the bread you made.

Oh wow my mouth is watering! Here in the Netherlands we can only get (imported of course) the cultivated kaki's or sharonfruits as they are called here. I just love the taste so much I write down on my calender each year what the first time is I see them in the store so I know the next year when to look out for them. Having a tree in my garden full of those goodies... OHH Pure heaven!! As this video is posted a year ago; I wonder did you have a harsh winter? I just love these old wisdoms.

I should have made some of this while we were at the cabin. The trees were the fullest up there that I have ever seen them! The seeds we checked also had spoons this year.

I wonder if it’s a sign for winter, full trees and spoons in seeds 🥶

Thanks. This year the persimmon tree went into overdrive. Bought a food mill. And going to try your recipe this weekend in the Dutch oven outside.

Going to check the seeds too. So far it has been pretty mild.

Mom used to make persimmon jam after a good frost. I always thought it tasted like dates.

Going to use nutmeg instead of cloves. My mother loved cloves too. But they never did much for me.

They grow wild in this area but I believe trees can be purchased online and I have seen them at Lowes Hardware a few times. They are so so delicious!
