    John, I’ve ridden street bikes since 1974 and thinking of adding a Vespa to the garage. The new ones are too expensive for me. Do you have any experience on a newish 150 as far as having enough power as not to get you killed on the street? I was even thinking about an older manual two-stroke if I could even find one. Im in Southern California and a Vespa would be for around town or for a trip up the Pacific coast on the two lane road. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you . Joe

      You're going to need 200cc's to do 70 and not get knocked down on hills. Perhaps a Mallosi kit on a 150cc taken to 180cc's would be adequate. The guys at Scooter West/Vespa Motorsports in San Diego can tell you.
