  • In this video, Dave will take you through a tour of all the things he likes about his new to him 2021 Tesla Model S Long Range Refresh. After recently buying a 2018 Tesla Model S 100D, Dave decided that he wanted to upgrade to the newest Model S; and this is it... He traded the 100D in on this car at Carmax in New Haven CT 2 weeks ago. This is not a driving or charging review, but more of a features analysis with a bit of fun baked in to keep things light and airy. Watch Dave as he reveals all the things he loves about his new car after driving it everyday for the last 2 weeks.

Out of Spec Dave is my favorite new channel. Appreciate your down to earth approach and ability to speak to an internally young, but whose generation possibly didn’t come with an alphabet label.

Great video, thanks for the counterpoint to your last one. Looking forward to the next video about charging your new MS. I just ordered the CCS adapter myself, definitely worth it if you’re doing any road trips

It is so awesome to see you Dave having a great time with your new car, I really enjoy your presentations and find myself looking for your new videos as my top priority. I am so thrilled to be a part of the ever growing EV community, I love them all and can’t wait to see what’s next. I’ve had my EV-6 AWD for four months and can’t wait to go to the grocery store, ( hated it before the EV-6) I forget things so I have to drive back for a return trip that’s how much I love driving an EV, I’m just worried about getting a speeding ticket I can’t not drive it fast.

Thanks for the video, Dave. I guess what I'd really like to see is a comparison between the Model 3P and the Model S LR, because I haven't decided which of those I'll upgrade to next. I'm currently on a March 2021 Model 3P. Maybe I'd find that the Model S LR is too big.

New channel, "Out of Spec Bailey"; a channel to educate children on EVs! Cathy could voice it.

You mention the ride being rough, Tsportline is selling those 20’s with a much smaller than OEM sidewall and lower total height than the OEM 19’s and 21’s. The overall height is 4.5 percent smaller than a 19" or 21" the OEM design sizes. The sidewall is the same thickness as the OEM 21" while being a smaller diameter wheel and 22.2 percent thinner sidewall than the 19’s. It’s not really a good setup and I’m not sure why they would sell such an incompatible size when there are compatible size 20’s available.

the tires issues is what held me on buying the S. I wonder if the 20's would be fine

Great video, are you experiencing any clicking noise from the front suspension when going over ramps or speed bumps? This was the main issue with my Refreshed S

The yolk in this car is what kills it for me. You talk about how you have to get used to it. Why should you have to get used to driving a car at this stage in your life? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it and the yolk is Change for change sake. Now people are saying that the material on the yoke is disintegrating. That’s unacceptable for a car people dropped over $100k on.

There are third party round steering wheels, but I don't know if I'd choose that or not.
