My 37 year old son, deceased in July of 2021, was a Neil Young afficianado and played his music on guitar very nicely. Most unfortunately, now that he is gone I am learning Neil Young songs. This song, Harvest Moon in particular, makes me weep, especially those three opening chords and the harmonics ... such sweet music that reminds me of my boy.
You are Brave - leaning into the Music as you are. Perhaps not now but if you continue to travel this Path as you are doing - you will find yourself at a Still Point - where these Songs no longer feel raw but bring you strength from the Connection of each other's Hearts. I wish you well our Guitar Friend - keep playing. Kindly, JBC NYC
I know this is 2 years old but I’m just now seeing it. My wife and I saw Neil at the Gorge on our anniversary. It was in September and there was a full moon that evening. It was magical. This is our “song”! Thanks for the lesson.

Great. You are the only one I have come across who has explained the "D" to "A" progression. You explained it slowly and now I get it. Not only have you explained it well, but you are a pleasant to watch, which helps.
Hello Angela, you are playing the song that my eldest daughter slept with when she was a baby in 1993 (30 today), I am almost 66 years old, (I am also a guitarist) and listening to you I have beautiful memories of those times when my wife was still alive. She died, she left in 2009 something very sad. I lived through the 60s/70s and enjoyed the music of those times. I love hearing you sing and play. I have seen your band and you are really very beautiful and talented, I congratulate you. I am also a guitarist. Well I say goodbye I do not want to bother you anymore I just wanted you to know that I recently found you on TH-cam and I was captivated and you know what? I am writing to you from Buenos Aires Federal Capital; Argentina, the country where I was born. It was nice meeting you. I send you a big hug and a kiss and take good care of yourself. It was nice meeting you.
I love every single one of your lessons. I’ve been performing for decades and yet you are incredibly helpful to me. You gently point out things that I missed before. I can never learn enough. I appreciate you so much!
A beautiful and talented young lady, finally I understand and can play the d to a to b bit of the song. As a 70 yr old beginner your videos and approach to the songs you teach are positively inspirational. Bless you. Lots of love and best wishes from Gary S/E England. ❤

Thanks Angela for another great lesson. I love playing this song on my Taylor 814ce plugged into my new Fishman Loudbox mini amplifier. I was screwing up the harmonics because I was pressing too hard on the frets and sounds much better now after your great lesson!

Hey I've just recently found you. I loved it when you said how much you love teaching. Playing someone elses song is easy to play,it's teaching that is the challenge, I taught class rooms for many years in Nashville, area. About 15 Students at a time. My favorite venues have been closed for along time. I'm 65 yrs.old. yeah and still going strong. I don't teach the class rooms anymore. My favorite area in teaching is Special Needs Children.
