I’ve been using this routine for 7 days and my hyperpigmentation is almost completely gone. @SAM, what @MEOW said, I can highly vouch for! I suffer from large pores, uneven texture, and rosacea. Since I have incorporated Niacinamide in my routine, I have noticed that it is doing what it says it does. I highly encourage you to try it.
Very helpful video, thanks guys. But one thing I want to add, I think you missed one very popular DIY remedy for hyperpigmentation, that is Rice Water . Thank you for addressing hyperpigmentation in this episode. I have been suffering from PIH for so long and I only recently attempted to get rid of it since I’m trying to limit my use of makeup to cover up my blemishes. This video was very informative on the multiple ingredients that can be used to help fade my acne scars (which I know now not to pick). I know you haven’t tried Obagi’s long enough to make a review, but do you think The Ordinary’s product would work as well? Niacinamide helped me with open pores and reducing scars and oiliness . but took quite 2/3weeks which was okay. I’ll continue to use this. Our skin differs from person to person. Maybe you should try something else and hope that works for you
Tarin Hossain Yeah it sucks because the majority have raved about this product and it gave me high hopes that I’ll finally see some progress; however, I’m back to square one.
You’re informative videos are so amazingly helpful. I am so addicted to watching them over and over. Love, love, love them! Do you have a video that tells me more about the both of you; how you two met, what got you both started in skincare and how long you both have been researching skincare. I would enjoy knowing more about the two of you. Thank you!
Ladies I miss the premiere. Thank you so much for talking about hyperpigmentation. As a dark skin woman (which I love being)it is so hard to get rid of. The science behind it was so important to know. ❤️❤️❤️
I watched another video on hyperpigmentation and acne scarring that you posted a while ago and ended up getting an at home microderm tool. I've used it twice now, once per week for two weeks, paired with an AHA & BHA mask from the Ordinary and I'm already seeing amazing results. I've been trying to clear my skin up for a year and a half now. The hyperpigmentation and acne scarring is SO frustrating because I wash my face religiously and FINALLY I think I am on the path to clear skin. Thank you!!!
I absolutely love the fact that they are both absolutely beautiful but also have problems with their skin still. Makes them so relatable and you just trust what they are saying!
ive been using apple cider vinegar basically everyday for almost a year (or even more idk ahah its been quite some time) and i love it. it helps with brightening, the scars seem to fade, less bumps, less acne aswell, was honestly a miracle for me and i have sensitive skin so i use it as a toner btw ahah before my night time routine
Try not to feel bad about it, your skin already is doing an amazing job resurfacing itself naturally, some things just take a little more time and it's okay! I definitely go through the same experiences, so you're not alone! As long as you can find some gentle products that can also help speed up the process, like gentle AHAs, that would be really good for it! You got this! 😊- fel
Thank you for your incredible video and hard work! It makes learing about skin and science fun and easy unlike scrolling through tons and tons of articles. It's really helped me understand my esthetician classes! Thanks again and much love to you both lovely ladies ❤
Not according to Asian beauty standards. Skin fairness is a highly prized sign of beauty so, people are ultra-sensitive in Asia with regards to skin colour. The lighter, the better, according to their standards...
tinkerbell716 I know she’s dark by Asian beauty standards, but they live in New York City. At this point to refer to themselves as opposite ends of the spectrum is just pretending darker people don’t exist or don’t watch them.
Hey! So I was browsing through the comments and wanted to let you know about pimple patches (hydrocolloid bandages basically) which help suck out all the gunk from a popped pimple. For me they help stop me from picking at the pimple and leaving a scar. If you get a chance, you should try them! You can find them on amazon.
Erin Wang Yes! I use the pimple patch bandages from CosRX and my pimples have gotten smaller overnight. Its also so satisfying to see the gunk its drawn out
@@erinwang5752 They actually don't "suck the gunk out", but they help create a moist envoirnment for the pimple to heal and kill the bacteria. If you run out of the patches, vaseline will work fine as well and you can wipe the pimple in the morning to remove the puss!
Just noticed a kinda reddish spot between my brows... Right after pregnancy. It's been there for a while, I can see it on pictures dating from a few months now! Didn't have any after my first pregnancy but now after my son it's just siting there. This video is a God sent. Thank you ❤️
I've been using the PCA Pigment Gel (HQ free) for 3 weeks, and it's the fastest working and most effective corrector I've ever used. It's $62 for 1 oz, but you only use it in the affected areas, so it's totally worth it! It contains kojic, lactic, and azelaic acids.
@@rebeccalively690 Idk, sorry! Check out Dr. Dray's video on hyperpigmentation. That's where I found the PCA gel, and I do remember her addressing melasma in the video as well!

Girls you're amazing. I never used SPF and I have P.I.E. and fracles, cause I have ginger/brown hair and light skin. I bought vit a, c, squalane, niacinamide, SPF and in a week a could see a change. I adore you
I have been using AHA but didn't really know it's a "proper" treatment until this video. Also a good tip is to use 3M blemish stickers overnight to suck out all the blood/liquids on the wound before it heals and closes off. I find the marks are usually lighter.
Hey Beauty Within, As always you have made a great informative video. Thank you. Do you think you could make a video on fungal acne, specifically how to get rid of it. Would really appreciate it.
I learn something new with each video ☺️ I now know that my specific form of hyperpigmentation is PIH. The more I learn, the better I can cater my routine to suit my skins needs. Thank you ❤️
What amazing video!!!! This is the first video that I see of your channel and wow! The information is so complete and clear. Really congrats for your job, guys, stay on this way Regards from a new fan in Mexico!!!
OK Im new to this channel and love all the content... But I have to mention this that Felicia is soooo pretty and she reminds me of Rose from blackpink (like in her looks, personality, etc.)
Great video! Would really appreciate it if you guys did a video on skincare devices, especially the high frequency electrodes and dermarollers/stamps. Thanks! ❤️
Please do a dermalogica skin care review! Please! Everyone says their special gel cleanser, precleanser, daily microfoliant is good! And could you guys do more for body acne? I got a lot of scars and pimples. Idk which product or what product to use
Another diy remedy is an Indian one that I swear by. Equal parts; turmeric + yoghurt + lemon juice + water or rose water! Lemon juice and turmeric is amazing for scaring and hyperpigmentation! xx
I actually have stopped using any acid since I suffered a lot from agressive chemical exfoliation (too much using AHA n BHA) and also acne patch. Thus, skin on my face developed PIE and also PIH. Then as remedy for my poor skin, I started applying manuka honey with UMF 16+ as DIY facial mask (for 20 minutes) and Chizu Saeki Method of hydration every night. The next step is using centella asiatica ampoule plus applying rosehip oil for night moisturizer. For day treatment, I use the same ampoule and rosehip oil plus physical sunscreen. Now, Thank God, the PIE and PIH on my face has gradually reduced.
You should compare this with microdermabrasion from a dermatologist. It worked best for my sun spots and acne scars from the first try, compared to the expensive and irritating products targeting hyperpigmentation.

Wooow! I would like to commend the setup right now! It’s very refreshing and light! 💯
thanks Gio!! 🙏🏻 -Ro
THANK YOU!!!! For giving us always what we wanted. #SKINformation
These girls have kept me hooked to the channel for the longest time. Love both of them and this channel too.
ive been using apple cider vinegar basically everyday for almost a year (or even more idk ahah its been quite some time) and i love it. it helps with brightening, the scars seem to fade, less bumps, less acne aswell, was honestly a miracle for me and i have sensitive skin so
i use it as a toner btw ahah before my night time routine
Do you dilute it? Does it not have a smell to it?
tbh when I was using acv I noticed my hyperpigmentation was clearing but Stopped Ima start using it
Editing so good 😍
OMG, I didn't know witch hazel is also harsh to the skin. 😭
now i know thank you, Beauty Within!
Finally a video about PIE . Thank u so much . Btw nice background ♥️
we heard you guys 😉💕 thanks so much Erick!! -Ro
One of the most informational skincare videos on hyperpigmentation...💕
great timing, i feel my skins hyperpigmentation is so bad and lately it’s been putting me down. super glad for this video!!
That Australian girl is always pointing out how the other girl is white palest pale and how dark skinned she is lol they both look the same lmao
Not according to Asian beauty standards. Skin fairness is a highly prized sign of beauty so, people are ultra-sensitive in Asia with regards to skin colour. The lighter, the better, according to their standards...
The lightning might be hiding it. Also paler the skin in high lightning makes skin look generally better.
Her skin is really dark, you can’t see it on set but it’s obvious in her no-makeup clips.
tinkerbell716 I know she’s dark by Asian beauty standards, but they live in New York City. At this point to refer to themselves as opposite ends of the spectrum is just pretending darker people don’t exist or don’t watch them.
No Madge gurl this isn’t about race. dont make it about you
And here I am trying to pop a pimple as I'm watching this video
@@erinwang5752 yes! love those hydrocolloid bandages
If you run out of the patches, vaseline will work fine as well and you can wipe the pimple in the morning to remove the puss!
wahh it's ok Z, it happens to the best of us 🙈😅 -Ro
Just noticed a kinda reddish spot between my brows... Right after pregnancy. It's been there for a while, I can see it on pictures dating from a few months now! Didn't have any after my first pregnancy but now after my son it's just siting there. This video is a God sent. Thank you ❤️
Best video explaining hyperpigmentation.
Yaay! Your comment means so much to us! We're so glad you enjoyed it!
Do you use it for melasma?
@@rebeccalively690 No, I use it for hyperpigmentation left by pimples. I have darker skin, so every little bump leaves a mark.
@@jackhappens ok thanks I was considering buying but it's so pricey wanted to know if it worked at all against melasma before buying it
@@rebeccalively690 Idk, sorry! Check out Dr. Dray's video on hyperpigmentation. That's where I found the PCA gel, and I do remember her addressing melasma in the video as well!
@@jackhappens yep that's where I heard of this gel to is from Dr Dray's video
i am using essence of argan oil and it's an amazing product it really works for my hair and skin
Thank you for this video ❣️ I have hyperpigmentation among other things and when I have seen dermatologists only one of them really broke things down for me. Others have just given me prescriptions and sent me on my way. I love the work you both are doing. You’re not just making product suggestions but making people knowledgeable enough to choose the right products. ✨
This comment means so much to us, thank you so much for sharing this with us! There are definitely different types of dermatologists and it can vary so much you're right! The more we can learn ourselves, the better judgements we can make with suggestions and choosing the best ways to improve 😊Thanks so much for your support! 💞🙌- fel
Beauty Within Your welcome❣️
beauty within videos are always so well made! i love them
Thank you so much, it means a lot to us that you enjoy it! 😊🙌- fel
Could these work for chest acne? Could you guys do a body acne video ?
YECIEBOO They've already made a video about body acne
Never heard of PIE but I see myself in the skin sympthoms. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video ❤️
Thought this was an old video I was catching up on. I’ve been thinking a lot about hyperpigmentation recently so I checked y’alls channel at just the right time! LOVE BEING EDUCATED BY MY FAVE LADIES!!
Thank you for all your amazing work, ladies! So very much apreciated!
I love both of you and this channel. I am obsessed with skincare and this is the perfect place because your videos are so informative and cute!! 💗😍
Finally a video on Hyperpigmentation 🥰🥳
Could you look at doing a rosacea video?
My cousin was suffering from rosacea and its all gone thanks to Azelaic Acid
Hey Beauty Within,
As always you have made a great informative video. Thank you.
Do you think you could make a video on fungal acne, specifically how to get rid of it. Would really appreciate it.
Hi Andris! We published a video on fungal acne that you can check out here: th-cam.com/video/XPWwQWpupIw/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps! 😁
OMGGG WHERE HAVE I BEEN THIS WHOLE TIME THIS CHANNEL IS SO FREAKING GOOD LOVE U GUYSSS
This video came just in time to prevent a lot of heart ache thanks!
How about tranexamic acid? How does it compare to arbutin?
Okay, but I think we need a video about your wardrobe and where you get them from. LOVE the dresses and bright colors you two wear 😍
Pls do a video on how to lighten up your bikini area
we stan 2 talented biologists !
I learn something new with each video ☺️ I now know that my specific form of hyperpigmentation is PIH. The more I learn, the better I can cater my routine to suit my skins needs. Thank you ❤️
I needed this. This helps so much thanks Rowena and Felicia. I always learn so much!
you should really start a tv show i would always watch no matter what 😍 ily from the -PHILIPPINES
That's the plan! heheh, thank you so much for the support, we love you!! 🙌- fel
@@BeautyWithin wish you all the best and support always 💕💖
Wooow guys 👏🏼 this video is 🤯 can’t thank you enough for all the effort and hard work to do such an amazing thing😍 love u 💜
Ive been using kojic acid soaps and it works for me..
What amazing video!!!! This is the first video that I see of your channel and wow! The information is so complete and clear. Really congrats for your job, guys, stay on this way
Regards from a new fan in Mexico!!!
Can you do a video on uneven skin tone ??plz
Another diy remedy is an Indian one that I swear by. Equal parts; turmeric + yoghurt + lemon juice + water or rose water! Lemon juice and turmeric is amazing for scaring and hyperpigmentation! xx
Do i use plain yoghurt
Black Hatter yes that’s what I use.
i hope you'd do a vid about how to brighten face. product recommendation and natural ways. ty! much love 💖
*when Beauty Within is also provides Histology Lessons*
Idk if this is just me but I would love to see a video centered around body skincare, like taking baths, incorporating oils and that kind of stuff.
We have one right here hehe - th-cam.com/video/wIxlg6rqAuk/w-d-xo.html hope it helps a little! Thanks for the comment! 💞- fel
I have crazy hyperpigmentation on my shoulders from my bacne, can I use these methods on my shoulders too? ☹️
School should be this easy. Great explaining this!
These videos are informative I just wish I knew which drugstore products aren't harmful for my skin.
i tried essence of argan oil for my dark spots and it worked , it started to fade in no time
That moment when you find that you have all the different 3 types of hyperpigmentation
I’m really prone to PIE and PIH...
same
You should compare this with microdermabrasion from a dermatologist. It worked best for my sun spots and acne scars from the first try, compared to the expensive and irritating products targeting hyperpigmentation.
I'm Afro-Caribbean and usually my hyperpigmentation usually heals but I was picking my quarantine pimples and here I am
Felicia have you tried taking vitamin C daily? Helps speed up the healing process from the inside out! Love this video girls as always!
You girls are lovely and you do a fantastic job at explaining what, why and how
