First thing I do with new clothes is remove the labels - especially the ones that scratch the back of my neck. But they are sawn in so tightly that it is easy to make a hole in the fabric! I see people with labels hanging out at the back of a waistband or off a scarf - NOT stylish
Hi Gemma! I really enjoyed seeing the color combinations from the old movies! Wow, timeless! Wish that section was longer - perhaps a future video topic!! Take care!!
I disagree. Classic tailored pants should have a slight break at the front. If I saw a picture ( waist down) of a 100 women in classic well tailored pants I could tell you every woman over 50! They are all too short. All women wearing well fitting classic pant should have is one for flats and one for heels. This goes for jeans too.
Thank you for pointing out that trousers hems dragging on the ground look sloppy and unkept. I never could understand this 'trend', it looks terrible... and not hygienic at all.
Another great video. These touches and adjustments are crucial..thanks for pointing them out. Great colour combinations..love tye idea of lookkng at old movies for inspiration thanks Gemma x
the example that you gave of a trouser that is too short is actually a picture of a cropped trouser with a tapered leg which is perfectly acceptable - it was not really a example of a wide or straight leg trouser with a leg length that is too short. Believe me i know - as i’m 5’9” with a long inseam and trousers are tricky for me
I'm so glad a fashion influencer eventually mentions that too short trousers are not flattering. So many of your collegues even recommend that look. No man would ever wear trousers that end way above the ankle because it looks ridiculous but we women should.
Hi Gemma, I really love and find your slow fashion channel so useful. Coincidently I was looking for a tailor, do you know of any good ones, I live in London. Thank you so much
Too-long trousers, with hems worn out after a couple of wearings, and cuffs covered in street grime, are just not logical. Also, they are unsafe. Granted I’m older, but I’ve fallen by tripping on too-long trousers. Serious injuries. Worth it? I don’t think so. 😮
I like classic too, but same length of dress and coat together with high boots , to me is old fashioned . Much more stylish and modern with the skirt being longer than the coat .
The French always focus on proportion. I totally agree that oversized blazers are a fashion miss! Thank you!

Same here. One has to be VERY careful by removing the labels.
I use a stitch ripper. It’s still a bit tricky though.
Nice to see some people know about labels. Have you seen men and women wearing jackets or coats with labels still on the cuffs? 😢
@@mhtammi I use a needle. And lots of patience

Marks and Spencer are definitely my go to for trousers, they always fit perfectly. Your tips on buying blazers are spot on, I enjoyed the video

I would like to see that. Two of the clips were from White Christmas. I watch it every year for the clothes 🙂
One of my favourite films 🥰
I like watching movies from the 40s & 50s. Such classic fashion, neat, clean & tailored. Thank you for all the great tips. Also, happy thanksgiving 🦃
Plus in those movies everyone has lovely manners.
Another nice thing about 'back in the day', people took pride in their appearence & had consideration for people who had to look at them.
Morning Gemma, I really cannot get on with wide trousers, i prefer a straight leg any day.
Some great tips here ( as usual )
Hope you're well xx

Your hair has grown it's really lovely
It’s having a bit of a growing spurt at the moment 😊I’m just deciding if I want it a little bit longer or to get it cut

I love looking back at the old films and the clothes they wore so much inspiration x

I see people with coats touching the floor likes padded blankets ❤❤
Thanks….how long should wide leg jeans be? I see them really long on people. I am 5’. Don’t know how much to cut off…
I’m your height and I wear mine at the ankle and wear with an almond toe shoe or ankle boot.
The hem of wide leg pants should brush the bridge of your foot
Great video as always. Constructive criticism:
I love your hair shorter, I just think it looked best on you and you looked younger.
I appreciate that as I’m just deciding whether to get it cut again 👍🏻
😍🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👌👍👍🙏🙏

No.
