The rain is both visual and audio, which makes lighting feel its addition to the atmosphere. Specifying visual or audio is both unnecessary and incomplete to the point made.

Being slow and suffering from a poor WR, I just now finally got my Zao, and watched this one again to see how you equipped and fought this ship. Thanks again for the good information, Flamu.
Fast, squishy, accurate, with good torpedo complement as backup. Zao is basically an oversized DD in terms of gameplay - you need to exploit the stealth capability of this ship, and her alpha damage potential. This is not a ship for a sustained firefight - it is built to strike fast and hard, and vanish just as quickly.
My favorite ship!!! It is impressive how much players understimate her potential to delete cruisers from stealth, even in ranked and CBs, in the end, her biggest weakness are CVs... not because she has bad AA, but because they spoil the ambushes.
I'd recommend accel mod on the Zao if you have the legendary mod. Battleships rarely ever hit me past ~14km even if I give full broadside because I can go reverse and bleed off more speed by turning (aside from dodging them by changing direction), shells land in front of the ship, bbs literally have to predict me dropping to a third of my speed to hit me and even then, I'll be angled. Accel mod helps get back the speed fast. Also, like I mentioned, turning bleeds off speed, actively dodging makes you slower, slow enough to be caught by slower cruisers just pushing nose in at full speed. Accel mod helps retrain more of your speed while dancing which can help going dark faster if needed.
The gameplay is great to watch but what's excellent is you're not being constantly assaulted with overloud subscription prompts and extraneous noise distracting from what's happening in game and your commentary. No "flamu-cam" blocking the minimap is also refreshing. Thanks for the quality vids! Subbed,
3rd module I have found that the spotter plane improvement is really useful since getting that range boost out of spotter plane for longer is really useful.
Zao is my favorite tier 10 to play, I've almost broke my previous personal record of 154k dmg. That dmg record I got from my Tirpitz, loaded HE for most of that game due to it being a tier 10 game. I enjoy the Zao, tricky to play but always enjoyable.
I feel like if IFHE gets a rework (a nerf), the Zao can find finally it's place in the meta again. Still a fantastic ship in the right hands, although the introduction of so many 457mm bbs and the prevalence of CVs has really hurt it (especially true with newer players). I wouldn't mind if it got a slight armor buff to bring back it's troll armor, in addition to troll citadel, for those of us who don't have the legendary mod. Flamu’s game really says a lot about the Zao though, it's handled power-creep very well compared to many of the other original ships.
@zktwo 1001, don't be silly, there's only three 457 gun ships in the game with another potential in the works. Currently all two of them are premium and the third (Ohio) is a regrind reward ship. Zao has no preditors.
@@Mthammere2010 Kremlin is not a premium ship and it is 457mm. Republique also overmatches 30mm even though it is not 457mm, together with the likes of Musashi existing in the game inflating Yamato numbers especially on Asia. Flamu is likely comparing to the days where only Yamato is the one ignoring the troll armor. There was a trend of BB release not going over 420mm for a very long time until WG finally had to go for bigger than 420mm guns for T10 BBs to keep up with new content and gimmicks.
I'm confused ... the Aiming mod does not make a noticeable difference but the Legendary buff to dispersion does. They are both -7% buffs to dispersion. I run both and it makes a big difference at max range or when using the spotter plane. The AA module is less useful because planes will still get through and being plane spotting is the greater problem by far. Here on the NA server we see 5 BB's per side on average so a players' long range aiming skills are a must. If you can't shoot accurately at range forget the Zao, Legendary Mod or not. Das Bat

Do you share this captain on Atago? I find RPF even more valuable on Atago with the shorter range guns, slower reloads and even better concealment than Zao. I agree for Zao only build RPF might not be as good, but really liking the RPF on Atago & Atago B.
I feel like legendary mod on Zao is not that viable in SEA since gameplay there is more passive then other servers and the extra range brought by legendary mod is not enough.I prefer using the range mod to get 18.8 range and it become more comfortable to play

I honestly would never have noticed the rain noice (i hear it as mic noice) you dont have to worry. Other than that i really enjoyed the comentary and i will be happy to see you reach 80k ,hoperfully 100k in the near future. One thing i disagree with is that Zao is the most accurate cruiser, i think it's the Moskva with legendary upgrade.The guns become so accurate that i can't hit targets because im so bad at aiming. That's my point of view correct me if im wrong
Actually i have already running this kind of ambush tactic on Zao for a while, yes it’s powerful and unexpectedly, but the caliber and the lack of WG magic kinda limited the effective of this tactic, the ships that can be citadel or inflect serious damage are also limited, like Henry IV, Hindy, and every super heavy cruisers, even DM has few chance of broadside for you, cause they always bow in, and if you miss aim the chance, no second time for you, it’s extremely not suitable for newbies.
@Salt Efan, how about realizing t9 isn't t10 and some people like to play Competiive in ships that represents their nationality. By all accounts and Dynamics, Des Moines should be a bottom feeder and irrelevant to t10 competitive; instead she is a beast in all game modes because of national love.
@@Mthammere2010 Your enjoyment of a ship doesn't hinge on how good a ship is. The Chung Mu is a better ship, but that doesn't mean that you can't play the YY. As for the DM in competitive games, it is an amazing anchor with a good radar. How much you love a ship or nation doesn't change how good the ships are, but it is likely to change how much you play them and by extension how good you are at playing those ships.

From what i've did some testing the dispersion module gave me at average one more shell landed per salvo same as legendary module.Is it worth? I don't know i think it's best for people to decide Zao is quite flexible and can be build in a lot of ways
How do you get a UU if you haven't completed a mission for it? ('For Honor') Is it a CC thing or there are (or were) ways to get it besides the heavy grind of a UU mission?
i totally agree with u on zao still being viable .. that amazing accuracy is all u need to own some randoms with big smile on your face .. in fact when i play alone it is my go to cruiser .. im running very similar build with the exeption of propulsion modification .. like you said it is your turning circle that hinders the manouverability of the zao so goin for maximum rudder shift isn't worth it imo (also 6,1s is amazing anyways).. i found out bein able to speed up and slow down quicker is much more helpful against more skilled players that just don't expect u to change your speed that often.. u should really try that one out
Could you do Mino too? It’s my first and only T10 rn and I notices that there’re not many guides on it and most are outdated. I currently plays radar Mino but the legendary module is smoke. I plays with smoke till I get Mino but now I think radar is also quite good since the radar range and my detection range are close. There’re many times I caught DD off guard. But the lack of smoke can makes it harder to play against BB sometimes.
Actually radar Mino is played a lot like a zao, except you're avoiding anything bigger than you and bullying anything lighter. Stay hidden unless you can catch someone's broadside, then fire away and then book it

@@firecracker739 I only took SE because I didn't know what else to take. BFT seems pointless since T8 planes get shredded already and a T10 CV will laugh about your AA anyway. Vigilance might be an alternative.
PT LS AR SE SI (or BFT if you prefer) CE IFHE (you can do without IFHE and only use AP in randoms, it's all fun and games until you find a DD that actually angles)
Finally, Zao's my favourite ship of em all. I would however recommend RPF even for randoms. 1. At the start you know where you could get spotted from. 2. It's a huge problem if a DD keeps you spotted. Being able to fire some torps at him often slows him down and thus (sometimes) allows you to get away.
I guess I need to start working on the grind again. I like the Zao but haven’t had a lot of success with it like other ships. It’s a hard ship to learn to play. Hopefully this video will help me out. It would be nice if the IJN got some love and some special commanders like John Doe. Thanks for the video.
Am I the only one that does not have access to that Hydro upgrade? I see he has those small plus' under them, but i don't really know what they symbolise, or rather how you get them...
These are special upgrades that you can buy in the Armory, there are mostly consumable related and some of them are interesting depending of the ship. Btw they cost coal and you have a limited amount of coupons to reduce the cost just like on the ships.
Zao may have had lost her position as the king of kite to the Henri but she is still a very effective gun platform. I wish her AA were more effective though. Well more effective with out selling out for an AA spec anyway.

Actually radar Mino is played a lot like a zao, except you're avoiding anything bigger than you and bullying anything lighter. Stay hidden unless you can catch someone's broadside, then fire away and then book it
I tend to win more games when running radar but do less damage compared to smoke loadout.

I only took SE because I didn't know what else to take. BFT seems pointless since T8 planes get shredded already and a T10 CV will laugh about your AA anyway. Vigilance might be an alternative.

What am i supposed to do vs Venezia in my Zao? I just ate a 13k and a 11k Salvo SAP and i was angled and kiting away ....
Shoot it either from long range or when it's not looking at you.
Anything that angles below 70 degrees will get chunked by 15 SAP shells.

Finally, Zao's my favourite ship of em all.
I would however recommend RPF even for randoms.
1. At the start you know where you could get spotted from.
2. It's a huge problem if a DD keeps you spotted. Being able to fire some torps at him often slows him down and thus (sometimes) allows you to get away.
I guess I need to start working on the grind again. I like the Zao but haven’t had a lot of success with it like other ships. It’s a hard ship to learn to play. Hopefully this video will help me out. It would be nice if the IJN got some love and some special commanders like John Doe. Thanks for the video.
Am I the only one that does not have access to that Hydro upgrade? I see he has those small plus' under them, but i don't really know what they symbolise, or rather how you get them...
These are special upgrades that you can buy in the Armory, there are mostly consumable related and some of them are interesting depending of the ship.
Btw they cost coal and you have a limited amount of coupons to reduce the cost just like on the ships.

Zao may have had lost her position as the king of kite to the Henri but she is still a very effective gun platform. I wish her AA were more effective though. Well more effective with out selling out for an AA spec anyway.
