Well played as usual. An interesting replay to watch. SAP gave ~780 damage per hit v AP's ~2,150 so I guess that shows it'll be pretty important if you want to get the best from it to understand which to use against what targets and when. I see both CVs came 2nd in their teams, so presumably your CV was good, as was the opponent, or it's evidence they're still potentially dominant and fun-killing pains in the arse, or all of those are true. p.s. I've been a sub here for a long time, but I don't use Twitch.
As far as I understand SAP dynamics, regarding high tier battles, SAP would deal about 15-17k dmg on cruiser with full pool, and about 25k dmg on BB with full pool. After reaching those cumulative values the dmg output drops dramatically due to saturation blabla. Knowing this to know when switch target is very good to maximize impact of Italian cruisers during a battle. Sure on DDs and light armored targets this potential is more important, and some other high armor BBs or super cruisers dmg output will not be as high as expected but in a practical situation, scoring 7k dmg in a single salvo means you can do 1 or 2 similar salvo on the same ship before you have to switch. Flamu you chose concealment, I personally preferred to maximize range and rudder shift to avoid incoming shells more easily and deal significant salvos from distance. As SAP has a constant 54mm pen value and the shell arcs are pretty good, you are able to deal dmg to DDs even at 16-17km range. With a rudder shift set to 5.4s it’s very handy and nimble ship. But yea, I don’t have very good wnr because it’s limited to your teams ability to delete BBs on a given cap zone to free your own way through. And also at distance dispersion won’t make consistent salvos very easy. Shells disperse from water to hard parts and only a few end up pen.
it's still great, you can check the average stats of the ships here and other simular websites, notice the Scharnhorst black being a rather recent addition and it's pretty high in the ranks wows-numbers.com/ship/3763287856,Scharnhorst/ Hope that helps.
@HunterPwner Scharnhorst has a 70 mm bow and 45 mm deck , no overmatch for you, only a tiny bit of the tip from the bow is 25 but it's so small that you can't consistently hit it. + Scharnhorst has twice the turret traverse speed and is 3/4 knots faster, on equal Skill, the scharnhorst will win on close range no doubt, mid range is a even fight, only on long range Sinop has an edge.
WG you release a brand new nation tech tree, you should have provided some italian captains with 10pointer at least, I really hate working on a captain from 0
Close to medium/close range broadside cruisers. Very high alpha damage if your aim is on point. BBs, AP is useless, learn ships armor and shoot at the 32mm armor when u have their broadside. Soviet BBs have 32mm on the bow and butt. Clanmate did 15k to a Kremlins nose the other day with Venezia
@@hailitalia86 That's what I meant when saying "good chance of scoring a citadel", of course against broadsiding cruisers. Regarding Kremlin, yeah it has 32 mm on the nose and bow, but also quite a bit of 60 mm and thicker at lower parts in them. So even if you aim at upper nose, some SAP might go too low and shatter. So AP might be better at some ranges.

My grind for the italians ended at Trento and i eventually sold Trento to buy Harugumo. I think the italians need some kind of a buff to stay relevant, since if you occasionally miss your shots as i do your already bad dpm becomes grossly worse
Trento was pretty awful. I enjoyed Mara OK, and Amalfi quite a lot. It's a fun line so far. On Brindisi right now, but only a couple matches under my belt.
It's like HE, but with substantially more alpha and pen (I think something around 54 mm for 203 mm guns), but in turn possibility of ricochet and no fire chance. It ignores armor angling like HE (except when at ricochet angles, that I think are a bit better than with normal AP, and much better with Venezia) and it can't overpen. And I think it can't overmatch, which would only happen against T7 and lower DD's anyways with 203 mm guns. So basically every hit does 1/3 of max damage, or either ricochets or shatters, doing no damage. I don't think any SAP can penetrate citadels that they are facing at their tier matchups, so no max damage shots are possible. Don't know if IFHE can affect SAP though, in which case I think citadeling Emerald with Zara might be possible but rare because of that small strip of 57 mm citadel armor. But I don't think that IFHE affects SAP. Somebody correct me if I got something wrong.
