I’ve been trolling for trout for about 3 months now I’ve never really caught one I live next to a lake with extremely deep water and I can clearly see on the graph that the trout are in water from about 90 to 200 if I’m lucky they’re usually up a little bit higher it’s like the 70s but it’s just tough to catch them I think you guys would recommend for these big lake trout that like the be deep
Since I began trolling for trout, I have caught fish every time out. I used to anchor or drift and cast or bottom fish. I got turned onto trolling, and that has made a big difference. People on the bank always ask me what am I using or how deep I am. I have double hook ups many times. Not sure if the difference is more area covered, bait presentation... My best are Joe's Flies mud buggler, a brown wully bugger or a wedding ring with a red skirt and piece of white worm. Good luck. Thanks for the video.
ADX fishing, I watched this video last night, went out today using what I learned and caught my personal best, an 8 lb monster, flat lining a Thomas Colorado. Would never have landed it without watching your content. Fish on!
I troll for small brown trout (typically 10-14 inches) her in the UK. I have found that a long (12 to 14 feet) float rod (panfish bobber rod to you) coupled with low stretch mono in 6lb to be the best combo. Pulling 3 inch Rapala minnows. Sometimes if the Sun is shinning & no breeze I may need to add a small split shot 6 foot up the line just to get the lure to run a touch deeper. Regards Stephen
I sometimes run a.dodger behind my canoe. They are a little more sensitive to speed consistency. So I can only run a.dodger early in the day when I am still able to paddle a constant speed.
You guys are the best I went out on a new lake on Monday and no one was catching and I was wondering why and what could I do different I would have never thought to keep changing the depth but I’m going to definitely try that next time :)
Nice rig, I like to use rubber snubbers as well behind the weight to provide cushion for strikes, it helps keep more especially if trolling at higher speeds
I need to get out on the water sometime, but my boat has been sitting out with no cover. Just got a new battery and im gonna spend this week fixing her up.
I use a stringer, or lake troll - 4 or 5 spinners in a string, about 3 - 4 foot leader, 4 # test, # 4 barbless hook with about 1/2 or 1/3 a worm or a grub like you used in the video. I fish close to shore, maybe 12-15 feet of water, 30 pulls out. No weight, no motor, I just use oars, and row just fast enough for the spinners to flop over. I'll row in a straight line for a short distance, then dip an oar in to slow the boat and make a turn, then give it a couple harder rows to get back up to speed. Or, I'll pick up a rod, drop the tip for a moment then pick it back up. If there are fish following the lure, when it speeds up they'll strike. That's only if it's slow. Normally I have a fish on before I can get all 30 pulls out.
I do a similar method with panther martins and some split shot and do pretty good. I also throw a little smelly jelly on there too. I think I will try that in line weight with the litter next, sounds like a good idea.
Did you coordinate with Bad Ash? She just put out a video of her trolling her local lake for trout to smoke for mothers day. She used Berkley maggots too.
Everyone thinks they have to have a suped up boat to go fishing. I've got a canoe and a 12 foot row boat. For most lakes where I live I don't really need anything more. I want to enjoy my fishing, not deal with boat issues all the time.
I can tell you exactly why you misused the fish. You were on your phone & not watching the rods. As personal favorites #1 hot pink or orange FlatFish, #2 Black & Silver or Fire Tiger Rapala (2 1/2"), #3) Super Duper or Triple Teaser.
Am I wrong to assume the entire time he is explaining the barrel swivel weight and what leaders around 2 -2:45 he has a fish bite? His pole looks flexed a little and bouncing like it might have a baby trout on it or something
A basic dodger/hoochie just like Kokanee....and/or a small Rapala with or w/o weight to get it down if needed. Or? I'll just park and fish powerbait...cuz I'm lazy. lol
Do you guys ever use rubber bumpers for picky trout. When I start noticing you only get bites. Sometimes they get pulled off the hook from the heavy weight so I add a rubber bumper after the weight.
The only way I've ever trolled is at Clear Lake OR, I'll rent a boat, put on some orange and garlic powerbait, and start rowing lol. Great video though.
So I tried your methods with no success. I tried 1/4 - 3/4 oz. weight as Carolina rig, then had 2 - 3 ft. lead with lures like Kastmaster. I let out 15 to 35 pulls. Go 2-3 mph. It's not sinking. I see it dragging at the top. Too fast? Not enough weight? Thanks in advance.
How about how to fish super big deep lakes I live in Canada on lake Okanagan Google it it goes between like 5 towns me and my sons love u guys watch everything before and after fishing taught me and the boys so much
What's your preferred trout trolling lure?! 🤔🎣
A threaded worm on lead core has been taking daily limits within two hours
Mepps spinner is my go to, but good old rooster tail is close second
Power bait and marshmallows! Kastmaster and moonshiner!
pop gear with weeding ring

Wedding rings is lure of choice but this spring using salad shrimp has been a killer bait to use while trolling
I got 6 trout today by learning and watched your video..it’s awesome ....
I have been teaching my Grandaughter...so much fun!!!
Mealworms also work great! One worm usually fits perfectly on a size 12 hook. Catches trout all day.
I like putting a dodger in front of my spinner for a bit more action and flash. It also helps get my gear down deeper.
🤫 🤫 🙏🏻

I was just gonna ask if that works and this was the top comment
I use a sliding sinker to drift and plunk....it’s a good thing!!! Love your videos... I live in Oregon City and fish the Willamette and the Clackamas
You guys are the best I went out on a new lake on Monday and no one was catching and I was wondering why and what could I do different I would have never thought to keep changing the depth but I’m going to definitely try that next time :)
Great video! This is my exact method. I usually start with 1/4 ounce and add a little at a time as needed for depth. Good stuff!
I never trolled for trout but I’d sure like to give it a try.

Okuma 8’ UL or now we have the Kokanee black spinner rods and I have the casting rods. They are mint!! We troll trout magnets they are my fav now.
I have trout magnets but haven't used them yet. I'm guessing they work well for you?
Let me try this again.
Nice Mustad Bag!
Without the G this time Holmes!
Super excited to do this tomorrow! Thanks for the tips

Hey! That looks like my favorite lake to fish, when i am in WA
Thanks Marlin another awesome show!

You guys really put out some good quality content. Appreciate that ✌️
Always trying new things I learn and pick up from you guys
Can’t wait to try this in Scotland!
Did you coordinate with Bad Ash? She just put out a video of her trolling her local lake for trout to smoke for mothers day. She used Berkley maggots too.
Red wedding ring all day. Tipped with worm. I use split shot just above my swivel. Easy to add and remove.
Great video !!! I love the Kokabow stuff both Kokanee and trout love em.
I was thinking of running a Dipsy than a 3 blade smaller cowbell, than 2’ flouro to a spoon- is this a reasonable setup to get on rainbows?
Love trolling Kastmasters
Love your videos!
Who else found it hard to focus on what he was saying and just watched the rod in the background
Nobody: Me:look behind u my guy
I gotta get me a small boat. Great video.
Everyone thinks they have to have a suped up boat to go fishing. I've got a canoe and a 12 foot row boat. For most lakes where I live I don't really need anything more.

Good bait fish for that lake !
I really want to fish one day with you guys!
Go fish next to Marlin in your own boat. Then have a catch and cook challenge!
Would you say a willow blade is better for trolling than a Colorado blade?
I think the Legend would say, hey guys start a TH-cam channel of your own and them we may fish with you. Like NWFISHING SECRETS.
Wedding rigging!?
Thanks I think I'm gonna get some trout...👌👌
You got a fish wow that's the first baha
I got the leaf flashers without the rudder. Is there anything wrong without having the rudder before the flashers?
Yes
recommend adding a snubber also with inline to tackle
There are going to be a lot less trout in Black Lake thanks to this video!
Did anyone else see the rod going off at 1:57?? Lmao
Another great vid!!!

Nice new boat, thought it would be bigger, lol
😂
Lots of horsepower too😁
I figured I would never see you guys on that lake. Red wedding ring with a tiny bit of weight does really good there.
Nice Mustag bag!
Am I wrong to assume the entire time he is explaining the barrel swivel weight and what leaders around 2 -2:45 he has a fish bite? His pole looks flexed a little and bouncing like it might have a baby trout on it or something
Awesome
Have a lake to definently change u with for trout in 1 weekend
What size if a boat and motor are you using in this video
I love it
lol @ 10:38 "somehow missed it... not sure why"
maybe cuz at 10:17 his face was buried in his phone

Would a 1 oz online weight be too heavy
And... Quick release xD... Glad I'm not the only one who calls it that.
Ya! Bud!
What state are you in and what month is this. Thank you. Great video!
Fish on!!!!
A basic dodger/hoochie just like Kokanee....and/or a small Rapala with or w/o weight to get it down if needed.

Very Good vid man, keep up the god work. I fish crabs on my Channel You have inspired me so much😁
Hi if you ever come to Twin Falls Idaho the place would be packed! Stay fishy and bring the dogs 🎉😊
Defeat the algorithm
What line and line size do you use for this?
It would be nice if you guys will say the location of where you are fishing and the making the fishing videos is at. All smiles!
Sean grab the rod!
How long does your battery last trolling?
The only way I've ever trolled is at Clear Lake OR, I'll rent a boat, put on some orange and garlic powerbait, and start rowing lol. Great video though.
A light handline would be fun.
I troll from a kayak and typically use a rooster tail and a flasher for my weight.
0:21 why was the rod in the backround moving alot
What was the name of that spinner again I didn't catch that , that hook looks cool
Watch again?
Lacamas lake lol
If i use a kastmaster do I still need Weight?
Yes to adjust depth
My wife didn't appreciate the idea of using my wedding ring to catch trout. So I asked if I could use hers.
I didn't go trout fishing that day.
Lol Corona lake
So I tried your methods with no success. I tried 1/4 - 3/4 oz. weight as Carolina rig, then had 2 - 3 ft. lead with lures like Kastmaster. I let out 15 to 35 pulls. Go 2-3 mph. It's not sinking. I see it dragging at the top. Too fast? Not enough weight? Thanks in advance.
2-3 m.p.h seems awfully fast I have great luck at 1.5 m.p.h. if your lures are floating add more weight
Can you do a trolling video for a kayak?
Challenge
How about how to fish super big deep lakes I live in Canada on lake Okanagan Google it it goes between like 5 towns me and my sons love u guys watch everything before and after fishing taught me and the boys so much
Hooked I to an 8ft dino there I'd u know where that is
