I’ve deleted everything except TH-cam! I felt like I was seeing toooooo many people’s lives, faces, and thoughts on the daily. It literally started giving me a headache.
It’s insane how much I could relate to this video. I got frustrated a few months ago from being on TikTok and Overtime, being overstimulated by so many people and so many things I don’t know and I don’t need to know and so I deleted TikTok. At first it was hard, but then I realised how freeing it is. At some point, it’s stressed me out and I just decided to cut it out of my life and it was the best decision ever. I had multiple problems with social media that I in the moment didn’t even realise. I love running and even when I was on social media, I started my running journey, but somehow I couldn’t manage to maintain some of the things I wanted to do such as reading books, or doing other things that are my hobby. Then I noticed ever since I deleted social media. I have absolutely zero problems with my time management with keeping up and maintaining my workout routines. I feel less stressed and I’m also less overstimulated and generally happier, especially my mental health has improved. I wish more people would know how much social media seriously impacts our lives. I’m only 19 years old and I just said I don’t care anymore because everybody has social media, but I seriously had to at some point stop using social media for my own health.
This is amazing! Especially at 19. I honestly wish I cut it all out sooner. I deactivated and reactivated for years. I always hear people say they don't have enough time to do things they want to do, but if they look at their screen time, they will see where all of their time goes. I am with you in that my mental health has improved so much! So much more happy in general without all these apps. Thanks for watching
Hey, so I deleted all my social media but I’m trying to delete tiktok again because I ended up getting it back. 😅 It’s because someone said “You can’t be an author without social media.” And I’m an up coming author so my book is almost here. Advice?
@@ShiningDreaminglydo you have an agent or something like that that can do social media for you? Or give yourself a limit of 30 minutes every other day for work related social media.
@@LunaWaffle I don’t have an agent but sometimes I delete the app off my phone but it’s like me personally I just want it to be gone for good you know? 😭
@@ShiningDreamingly yes I definitely understand bc it can be hard to not go on it when it's there. I'm not sure how authors do it, maybe you can reach out to authors and ask what they do. Social media definitely is helpful for advertising books and stuff.
Love this! I love TH-cam for watching videos and playing them in the background while cleaning/folding laundry. Recently just deleted IG and FB off my phone. Planning on deactivating IG. I had to give myself restrictions though on YT because of the shorts I noticed I would get stuck on the shorts/reels just like they have on IG and FB. I wish they would have just stayed on tiktok where they belong, it’s ruined a lot of social media. Such a time sucker.
The FOMO is real but I realized my productivity was crashing by having so many social media apps. It does nothing for my neurodivergence. I decided to focus only on creating TH-cam content and focus my extra time on my own well-being.
This video is exactly what I needed to hear. I hope God will bless me for this the same way he did you. I’m 17 and have been on social media for years. As embarrassing as it is to say, this is a huge step for me! Thanks for making me feel so proud of myself!!
Love the channel. I quit social media around the time the pandemic began. I’m in my mid-30s. I had been on it for way too long, unfortunately. But best of luck with life without all the socials! It’s great.
Great video. I am 51 years old. I have 3 adult children and i keep telling myself and others i have social media so i can watch my childrens videos, photos etc.... bull crap. I use it more then them and i was addicted. I have deleted them so many times but i knew when i had 30 days to activate again before it deleted and i would go right back on day 29!!! 😂 not anymore. Today is my day 1 totally ALL deleted. I onky have TH-cam now.
this really helped as someone who just started with this journey , reactivating my acc was so not worth it it just made me realize even more that i was missing nothing my fomo was for nothing even tho this decision came with the cost of losing sm friends i still dont regrate it at all
I appreciate this video and the points you’ve made here ❤ I deleted my tiktok yesterday after they kicked me out of the creator rewards program for speaking on women’s rights (carefully) - they stole thousands from me in the process. Even though I had a couple hundred drafts edited and ready to post that would have made me $thousands, I got rid of it all for my mental health. I’ve already begun to play guitar again and I’m already not as angry all the time. ❤
It depends how much it gets in the way of your day, I don't use social media, as I have a dumbphone (I would recommend looking into these!) but still have snapchat installed on my school ipad as some of my friends for some reason are against regular messages, I and sometimes need to contact them... If you only use snap when necessary and don't waste your time on it i'd say its fine. I know people who spend the moment they get in from school to when they go to bed on snap. Obviously at that point you probably should detox and uninstall but if you think you can use it in the same way you would whatsapp or messenger and not let it get in the way of your life I think it should be ok to keep it installed.
yeah but its way different than instagram or tiktok. Its better to watch one 20 minute video on youtube than to scroll on tiktok and overstimulate your brain with 100 short videos

Congrats on becoming an author! Social media can be very useful for businesses, but you have to be very careful not to get back into old habits. I’d say keep it strictly professional, plan posts in advance and don’t follow too many people.
Not devil apps. Nothing wrong with having them. We are social creatures naturally. It's literally just something to do and there's nothing wrong with it. People do yoga classes, go on beach trips, and vacations all the time...

Definitely having withdrawals but it’s eye opening how much I was addicted to that crAPP
Thanks for sharing, I think you'd enjoy the book 'Dopamine Nation'. Really opened my eyes on a lot of things!
You are so well spoken and pleasant to watch/ listen to. I think you’ll do really well on TH-cam should you choose to make more videos 😊
Thanks for the encouragement✨❤️🥰
Wow, I resonate with this so much.
Keep making more videos. I loved your talk and explanations.
I’ve never related to a video this much in my life
The only apps I use that I consider maybe social media is Pinterest and TH-cam. I need inspiration from Pinterest and yt I need resources
Very Good video!! Keep it up :)
Best decision ever
Please, the link of that podcast about dopamine… 🙏
Do you remember what the podcast is called that you were talking about?
