What I really miss is talking to people and socializing. I live abroad and my friends in this new country live in another city. There is no way I can see them casually daily by going down the street or anything and I feel like if only I had my loved ones close, I wouldn’t use my phone so much. When I was with my boyfriend overseas for a month I was using my phone for about 90min a day, or less. Just wish I could have people close or could casually speak to people without it being so weird… it’s me and the grandmas at church I guess 😅
the first thing I noticed was that I have not been bored in yeeeaaars. Because doom scrolling just filled that time. I think evolutionary at first it was just for that and connecting with others but then it occupied more and more time. To the point that I'd rather scroll than do something else. PLUS it is a really efficient (but shitty) way to procrastinate 😅
I have decided to take a break from Facebook and Instagram for a month after watching your video on leaving social media. This will be the longest I will gone and it's scary. I will take this time to be silent and spend more time with God.

Wow thank you so much! Hmm honestly I think the flip phone life sounds so cool lol but I do film on my phone and love to facetime my family often so I don't imagine I'd be switching anytime soon but I think the key is to find substitutes. New apps that are beneficial or hobby oriented as opposed to just things that we can overconsume and feel gross about afterwards! I use little trivia apps to learn geography or fun facts and things like substack or reddit to help me transition and be more aware of what I'm consuming
whats your advice for someone that is a travel agent and is trying to promote their business online to find clients to build their business? someone is me haha. I want to get off social media but I feel like I cant because it will affect my work. But then I dont alway use it for work! ugh
haha that sounds super tough ngl. It's hard when its used for work but also requires a lot of self control to ONLY use it for work yk? For me it's best cold turkey, so I decided to rid myself of any potential benefits traditional social media could bring to my business because of the VERY REAL non benefits it was causing me. I know its a whole different kind of hard to try to network in real life. But maybe give it a try? Find a couple people through hobbies you enjoy- meet people and get in touch with friends of friends and you'd be surprised how small the world can feel sometimes! does that sound too crazy? Honestly, I use to be a journalist but the social media factor of it all had me do a big 180 with my career path. Not for everyone, but Best of luck you you
Even though I wouldn't consider myself addicted to social media, I definitely see myself going on a lot more than I would like to. But your video is inspiring me to make my own vid about my journey being off social media and how to cope with the adjustment. So thank you! 🫶🏻
Hi, millennial here. Three things that consumed my time in my teens/20's, and I believe you touched on them well: 1) Volunteering. I volunteered as required for a scholarship but I chose things I liked: Animal Shelter, Senior Center, and the Food Pantry at a local church. Unfortunately I wasn't able to network very easily but it was still something that gave me purpose without wasting my time. 2) Exercise. You don't have to do a full workout, just do something that relaxes you. For me it was walking around my campus and listening to music, I could literally do this until my device died. 3) Hobbies. Everyone has different hobbies and it's important to find out what things you like to do that make you happy and enable you to relax. Watching T.V., cooking, reading, playing games. Just make sure you are aware of how much time you're spending on these hobbies, as they could end up consuming too much of your time.

Like one of the other commenters said, I read a lot now. I’ve also been listening to a ton of podcasts. Anyway, please keep up the great work! From what I’ve heard and seen so far it sounds like you’ll be very successful!
wow thank you so much for your comment! :)))
@@MoonbeamsWorld You’re very welcome! Also, can I just add. I’m a big believer in energy / vibes, and you give off some of the calmest vibes. Please don’t change this about yourself for anything or anyone. The right people will find and love you for it! I personally wish I knew boat loads of people with your kind of chill personality! I would definitely be less in my thoughts.
you are so kind wow that's such a compliment
@@MoonbeamsWorld Thank you! That’s what I try to be kind, because life can be tough for us over thinkers. If there was ever anyone who understands you, it’s me! Right back at you with the love.

I just found your channel today while looking for videos in TH-cam recommendations and I loved it!! My main language it's Portuguese, but I could listen to you talking for hours!!🥰
awe thank you so muchhh!!!!
pinterest is entering its enshitification phase. sad.
Ya it’s not the same :(
What I really miss is talking to people and socializing.
PLUS it is a really efficient (but shitty) way to procrastinate 😅
yep, it's been only 3 months but I was so bored I started learning Russian
I have decided to take a break from Facebook and Instagram for a month after watching your video on leaving social media.
This will be the longest I will gone and it's scary.
I will take this time to be silent and spend more time with God.
thank you so much for your comment I pray it goes well for you!!!
How did it go?
I used to use all these apps before I got social media (my parents didn’t let me and would confiscate my phone lol) and mannnn do I miss those old days.
I used to be so creative and now I find myself miserable wondering why I ever went the social media route.
I’ve been trying to delete my social media for YEARSSSS now (lol, since I got it at 18) and boy oh boy IS THIS HARDDDD
i cant rly delete social media because my future kinda depends on my accounts, so trying to not use it as much is just a pure will power thing rn and its so hard but im rly trying not to be on the apps at all unless im posting something, but instagram literally feels like home at this point, i open it without even thinking and by the time i notice im already like 3 reels deep
I totally get that but yeah sometimes relying on my willpower tires me out dude I just gotta take it out of the equation lol
came across this on my recommended, this channel is so cosy 💕
cozy is my goal 💕 tysm!!
I am watching this WHILE pooping 😢
We’re starting to sound like the exact same person 😂 I deleted social media and suddenly thought of joining a dance class since I love dancing but never found the time for it. Through my college as well!
Go for it!
my main problem is that I have a chronic illness that doesn't allow me to do much, I need to rest in bed most of my day. also the pain makes it difficult to engage in most things, it's miserable... I don't know what to do to fill my time, distract myself... :(
so you cant move around?
you can try picking up a hibby like gaming or drawing or cooking
I feel the same it's my condition now and I'm typing this comment knowing that i can read or listen to podcast insead of scrolling
I can do crochet or write the book i always wanted to
When you put the phone aside your brain will work hard to find something kill the boredom
Very inspirational! I always try to detox but its so hard. I wanna start again and already got some ideas what to do and your tips just got me motivation to try new stuff, thank you❤
yay!!!!! tell me how it goes!
I would like to see how you set up your phone without social media, i mean, what apps you use and if it’s more of a minimal style setup idk… of course if that’s not intrusive 😊
that is honestly a great idea!!! TYSM for the comment! 💗definitly will work on that for another video!
I deleted social media back in March, never had any regrets. Every app just seems like the same thing, it’s tiring. Girl, it’s better not to have it. I know they have advantages but most of the time it’s just complete nonsense. I spent time on drawing and now focusing on my channel.
oooh I also created a private channel after quitting social media and it's a nice way to document my life and look back at it in the future
I feel like I've found my people here in these comments 😂 yet somehow still impossible to find them in real life. It's been about 6 weeks off social media, I've been kindle reading and using a bird app as a gateway drug 😂😂😂
hopefully I can setup a discord channel for people resonating with this so we can all make some connections! its in the works!
Not me listening to this as I poop…🤷🏻♀️😂
hahahHahahah!
Commenting so this gets pushed harder in the algorithm!
You are so kind 🥹
also theirs an app called meetup where you join local events in your area and basically hangout
I have heard of this!! Do you use it? Any success with finding friends this way?
Watching this while doom scrolling through your content 😅😅
These are amazing ideas, I need to put myself out there more
🥹🫶
I need to know what is the boba shop you go to! I love the idea of a free macaron to have with a nice drink ❤❤❤❤❤❤
was literally going to ask you in your quitting social media video what you do in your free time when you want to scroll because I find myself just staring and being bored then taking a nap LOL its gotten better for me the past few weeks because i bought a bunch of diy crafts I can work on hehe
that's amazing but honestly napping is great for you too lol boredom is underrated
Everytime I get bored I literally just go to sleep. My biggest problem lol
i love these videos!! you seem like someone i would want to be friends with irl
I love this!! Thank you for sharing 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
Thanks for watching! ahhhh!
A year in a phone is 5 years outside.
Really interesting video, everything i delete my insta, keep going back
Omg I love gifs too, I knew I wasn't the only one obsessed. I'm always sending one. I use whatsapp and stickers are common there, but I don't like them, long live the gifs haha 💗
hahah so gooood!!
i poop when im pooping
This is my sign to delete insta! I do love to read so hopefully having more time off my phone will help me read more!
yessss! I've been trying to read more too! So far i've managed two Harry Potter books lol my first time reads!
Just stumbled across your page and girl, I love your vibe!! So fun to see such a positive little corner of TH-cam :) (also I'm dying to know your MBTI type haha)
Thank you so much!!! I’m an ENFJ🤓 what’s yours?
@@MoonbeamsWorld no way! I guessed correctly haha! 😹I'm an INFP!
@@sydneyhazel33 REALLY?! that's insane lol you are skilled haha what gave it away?!
@@MoonbeamsWorld Haha idk, you just seem very open minded, and like you genuinely care about others! 😆I guess there wasn't anything concrete that made me think that, just your
✨vibe✨ ;)
Might be unrelated, but ...
It's the first time I have seen this creator ever on my FYP, and 5 mins into the video, I realize I am in love with this person. Now I want to watch everything created by you, you became my new addiction. Thnks for all this content you are putting out and for showing a different way to approachboredom
such a nice video, very calming uwu

you know I was thinking of reactivating instagram but after this I feel like there is this freedom of not being on my phone 24/7. And want to be more intentional with how I use my time
yes! thissss!
Great video. You are an interesting person. What is your MySpace?
hAhahaha!!! thank you lol
Really enjoying your videos!
I was wondering if you are going to keep repurchasing smartphones, or what your outlook on that is.
I think many people are too tempted to redownload apps if they keep their smartphone, so I think it’s really impressive that you use it for other things without being reeled back in!
I use little trivia apps to learn geography or fun facts and things like substack or reddit to help me transition and be more aware of what I'm consuming
i love your videos!!!
Thank you so much!!!
whats your advice for someone that is a travel agent and is trying to promote their business online to find clients to build their business? someone is me haha.
Not for everyone, but Best of luck you you
😂I’m a lady I don’t poop!!!! I actually believed that as a young guy lol I’m 36 now and I still believe it 😑
😂🤫🤷♀️
Even though I wouldn't consider myself addicted to social media, I definitely see myself going on a lot more than I would like to. I know if I just quit It would rewire my brain against it but I just have too much fun on it sometimes lol.
BTW, did you get my response to you last vid? for some reason my response to you only posted in the "newest" section not the "top" section. I gave you the name of the skin care company and other det's.
It can be a lot of fun sometimes lol I appreciate it when my family shows me the good stuff haha and no I didn’t see your comment! Let me take a look 💕💕💕
@@MoonbeamsWorld sometimes the memes are just too fire lol lmk if you need any help finding the product or site!
I didn't download the Pinterest app on my phone because it takes space like socmed. I use it on my desktop and the ads you're mentioning isn't there (so it only applies in the app). So I can still happily scroll and get inspo from Pinterest... except that it is also filled with AI. 0.0
oh they're not on desktop!! oooo maybe I'll get pinterest again!
Yay! You’re so cute! I love this so much 💛
hehe no thank YOU
Thank you for this video ❤
Welcome 😊
Replace your phone with a notebook and converse your thoughts you need good riddance from the cursed object not a replacement.

Not me watching this with a cold haha
Well at least this one is something I can watch because I am not a girly girlboss

you are my new favorite youtuber 🥹
🥹👉👈 hehe tysm. Tell me what other types of things you want to seeee
I only poop when I poop, am I the only one?😅😅😂 Loved ur video❤
Hi friend, thanks for this wonderful vid. I’m 34 and quit all social media in March except for TH-cam. Even with YT I need to be careful because of all the shorts. But your video is inspiring me to make my own vid about my journey being off social media and how to cope with the adjustment. So thank you! 🫶🏻
yesss thank you so much for your comment
Hi, millennial here.
Three things that consumed my time in my teens/20's, and I believe you touched on them well:
1) Volunteering.
I wish no music on so i can lsn to u peacefully ❤
I made note of this! My newest vid doesn’t have music ❤️ Ty for feedback
Are you by Any chance looking for an editor would look to help for free !! Love the content
not at the moment but I will keep you in mind, thank you!
Doesn’t TH-cam count as social media?
Thank you for commenting!!

Are you going to college?
Taking a break rn!
SORRY CAN'T DO THIS AS ISSUES I TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY NEED ADDRESSING. OUR PLANET NEEDS HELP AND SOME OF US HAVE IDEAS TO DO JUST THIS INSTEAD OF BRAINLESSLY TEXTING TO EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET!!!
