I'm interested to know if you kept a 'smart' device or if you chose to use a more simple 'dumb'-phone? I'm heavily leaning toward going back to a 'dumb' or feature phone to further aid in eradicting the constant distraction that is synonymous with smartphone usage.
Its so nice to hear this❤
First time I microdosed it made me realize I need to get off social media and never looked back
I found your channel at just the right time
pls keep posting queen, love ur videos 😭
Thank you for this! Great video and I agree with all your points!!!
<3
This is so real and refreshing and a big breath of fresh air. Thank you for sharing
The whole obsessing about likes thing- yep, totally me too.

@@PaolaGutierrez-wh5ch wow thank you 😊 I love making videos and plan on continuing to share 💕
I checked the weather too , wow! This is crazyyyyy
i was the same i would deactivate and then get it again and it’s like you see that you’re not missing out on ANYTHING
i just came across this video and all of things you pointed are completely true. I've been quitting social media for almost 2 years and life is so much enjoyable without it. Also, I noticed that I don't feel comfortable to put my private life out there. I choose who can access to my life.
for me youtube is the true devil. its been around 10 years i have seeing content everyday for about 3-5 hr everyday. it was super easy to remove insta, whatsapp, snapchat, and other apps. but i can't seem to remove youtube. now the plan is to cut the internet only. but as a software engineer its impossible so only going to office and working there. it the new plan
Please, the link of that podcast about dopamine… 🙏
Ok Rory Gilmore
Hi, I am Daantje, and I am working on a magazine feature about digital detoxes. I would love to interview you about your experience quitting social media. If you are interested, please let me know how to contact you!
Are you half filipina? 😁
Nice video! thanks!
Wow, you said here what I wanted to hear for years. You said exactly what is needed. thank you very much for sharing this experience!
I removed all my followers and people I was following on Instagram and now use it as a digital memory book. I deleted my Twitter and TikTok accounts, and I don't have the Facebook app on my phone-just Messenger for work and family communication. I've been using this setup for two months now, and I'm feeling good about it.
Wish u would get back on social media kind of miss u alots
"people don't know who they are because they're so distracted... they think they are what they consume" WOW.
It's crazy how similar our life is
I recently just started Masters... I had to leave IG because I cannot rest while seeing what all of my new classmates are doing 😂
The FOMO is real but I realized my productivity was crashing by having so many social media apps. It does nothing for my neurodivergence. I decided to focus only on creating TH-cam content and focus my extra time on my own well-being.
What camera and gear do you use for ur vids? They look smooth and nice.

I deleted the fb app on my phone but can still see it in the browser. I dont have tiktok, instagram, x, etc.
I just deleted social media almost a week I can focus way more
But...TH-cam is social media...but I guess it's okay because you, and others, like this one...
yeah but its way different than instagram or tiktok. Its better to watch one 20 minute video on youtube than to scroll on tiktok and overstimulate your brain with 100 short videos
So true ! Amazing progress. I'm glad I made this decision. I got rid of it on September 1st, and it was the best thing ever. I'm only 11 days in and it is amazing so far. I just hope it gets better.
This inspired to finally deactivate instagram. I got rid of TikTok a few months ago and I am much happier.
My child wants social media and is in the 7th grade, but we’re holding it off for as long as possible. I see how social media slowly shapes my view of the world and changes my opinions. It also persuades me to want or buy things. It robs me of so much time. If this is what it does to a grown woman, what can it do to a child?
So awesome of you, I’m a first time mom and my little one isn’t even 1 years old and she looks at my phone sometimes!
And I also think about all of these parents who are exploiting their children online 😅
I appreciate this video and the points you’ve made here ❤ I deleted my tiktok yesterday after they kicked me out of the creator rewards program for speaking on women’s rights (carefully) - they stole thousands from me in the process. Even though I had a couple hundred drafts edited and ready to post that would have made me $thousands, I got rid of it all for my mental health. I’ve already begun to play guitar again and I’m already not as angry all the time. ❤
Definitely having withdrawals but it’s eye opening how much I was addicted to that crAPP
You are right
I deactivate and reactive insta... please give steps to avoid it😊
What are your interests? Spend time elsewhere. Maybe even find educational videos on here or music!
Omg when you said social media would make my vacation stressful, I felt that!!😭😭🤍
Would love too meet a woman like you.
youtube is social media...isnt it?
The photo dumps on Facebook- I still do this! I dont have that many contacts on there but I enjoy posting all my pictures from all my trips and put it into albums. Barely any editing or altering, just pure raw pics!
"i feel like nowadays people don't even really know who they are because they are so distracted. they know what they watch, they know what they eat, they know what they like, they know what they don't like. but they don't know what their real values are or what they even really need. they think they are what they consume. but if everything were taken away from them, they wouldn't really have a sense of identity." close enough welcome back sylvia plath
7:50-8:05 💯💯💯 that’s real
I started to delete my ig once the week started on Monday, only would get on on the weekends. Now I’m thinking of never going back ! I love not having it and I also noticed I enjoy life more not focusing on other peoples lives. Highly recommend!
according to jaron lanier, you should turn your search history and recommendations off on both google and youtube to stay safe from the manipulative algorithms & its highly recommended by me too
I only can access social media once a day, for about 15min, (it’s physically locked somewhere) and it changed my life. I sometimes don’t go for 3days and realize I didn’t miss anything. I don’t reach out for my for phone every 2minutes anymore. I read books or do stuff instead. Slowly weening off social media. So glad to be freeing myself from it! 🎉
thanks ❤
