So I recently got a Roku for a Spectre tv that I got for free. Obviously the roku sound and picture comes from the HDMI cable. However, the sound from the tv speakers sounds horrible. I've been trying to get the sound from the Spectre tv to come out of my PMC speakers I have. I have a receiver for the speakers. How can I get the sound from the tv to come out of them? I've plugged in the audio out and in cable (red and white) from the tv into the receiver and have set the correct input but still no sound. Any help would be appreciated!

great question. for true surround, as you said, your tv must have a port to send out 5 audio channels. the ports for this are coaxial, optical, hdmi arc. if your tv doesn't have this, your next best bet would be to play from a device that does and then go from there.

Great Video. I have an Samsung Qled to some powered b&o speakers via hdmi arc to digital to audio converter to rca but every time I power the tv on the sound is unbearably loud regardless of tv settings. Any advice/fix for this?
It sounds like that’s what the volume on the speaker system is being left at. Other than that, look for FIXED and VARIABLE in your external speaker settings on your tv.
@@SimpleCafeE regardless of the sound level when I power the tv off when I power back on it’s fixed at very loud. There’s no variable or fixed output option on the tv sound. So frustrating
My Samsung q65 doesn't recognize the HDMI extractor... it doesn't show up in the sound output list like it should when I connect a soundbar via HDMI 3 Arc. So there is no option to switch the sound to HDMI. I check the extractor on my PC HDMI, and it works, but not with the TV. What can be the reason? - I tried each setting in the TV - tried via optical None of connections works 😢 The only thing, this extractor is 1080, but it doesn't say 4K on it (bought on amazon). Should it still work? Thanks!
Complete newbie to all this stuff here, and trying to catch up quickly... Perhaps a dumb question, but is there a way to connect detachable bookshelf type speakers from a mini hi-fi system to play as additional to the main tv speaker system rather than totally replacing the source sound from the tv? Or is there some other type of speaker/soundbar device that complements rather than replaces the initial tv speaker source? (Apologies if this sounds ridiculous) BTW your video was great and received an immediate sub.
Thanks Norm! It can be done on certain TVs. First and foremost Make sure your TV has one of those audio our options. Then it’s just a matter of whether or not your TV gives you the option of putting audio simultaneously as you mentioned through the TV and external speakers. You’ll have to look in the audio settings and hope to find the option there. If not some TVs will just do it by default.
Hello brother, I have philips home theatre 5.. however player is not working..I have great 5 speakers, how can I connect those speakers only to tv directly, is it possible?
Hey Krishna. If your tv has speaker wire ports then you can. But most likely it doesn’t. So you will need to connect them to an amplifier (stereo). You will need to set up like shown in this video here. th-cam.com/video/_5NsxWIG2G0/w-d-xo.html
I know! Perfect timing 👌 oh but to be more clear with your question, the only way you’ll be able to use all 5 speakers again is if you have another system that can support all 5. In the mean time you can at least use 2 because most stereo amps will be able to support atleast 2.
@@SimpleCafeE Haha, I was about to ask my next question, you were already there with the answer- what a coincidence! Thank you buddy.. I have got this clearly now..you have great quality of advising beyond expectations. Thank you😊
Thorough video, well done! Question: Presently, I have my TV connected to my Active speakers AUX to PRE-AMP (via RCA), PRE-AMP to speakers (RCA to RCA). Is it digital coax that you’re going into? Also, RCA is one channel each. So it only does stereo (2ch). Digital cables such as optical and arc can carry more.

Hey Protagonist thanks for the sub! Here’s the thing about what you’re telling me your tv has, red white and yellow exist in many TVs but there are two directions they can go and usually if you only have one of those sets, red yellow white, the direction ID usually for sending the signals in so you can play other devices into your tv. If you have another set, it could be ANOTHER in but will hopefully say OUT instead. If it did, you’re good to go!

Maybe this will work for you:th-cam.com/video/CsHnqYGldj4/w-d-xo.html
My amp only has wires hookups. Can i connect RCA cable to TV and strip the other ends to hookup to amp?
I have a question guys? So I have an LG OLED55C14LB but want to connect my surround system it o my has the red and black wire (not the plug in kind). How please
Oh wow that does sound horrible. I can’t think if any solutions either.
- I tried each setting in the TV
- tried via optical
None of connections works 😢
The only thing, this extractor is 1080, but it doesn't say 4K on it (bought on amazon).
(Apologies if this sounds ridiculous)
BTW your video was great and received an immediate sub.
@@SimpleCafeE Thanks so much for the quick response. Much appreciated. 👍
@@SimpleCafeE Wow, that was super quick response, thank you😊
Thank you😊
Thanks! I hope you sub to stay in the loop
Can you a coaxial cable by itself? Or do you know Rca cable also
yes you can, watch this video: th-cam.com/video/AbWFPV6k6fI/w-d-xo.html
hi , can i connect my speakers to my tv's usb port by using a usb to 3.5mm adapter?
Thorough video, well done! Question: Presently, I have my TV connected to my Active speakers AUX to PRE-AMP (via RCA), PRE-AMP to speakers (RCA to RCA). Was thinking of switching it up to TV OPTICAL to PRE-AMP (via DAC, optical to RCA), PRE-AMP to speakers (RCA to RCA). Do you think there will be any noticeable sound difference starting from OPTICAL instead of AUX??? Many thanks in advance!
Great Video
Can you still control the volume through the tv remote?
Typically so if you connected through aux/headphone port - I gotta research to verify but I think it’s going to vary per tv.
@@SimpleCafeE Ok thanks 👍🏻
Brilliant thank you very much for spending the time to do this video it’s super helpful and got my Speakers sorted thank you
THAT’S what I love to hear!
great video sir..
i got questions.. i have a home theater 5.1 ..
does any of these connections allow 5.1 surround audio??
im planning to buy toslink convertor.. optical to coaxial..
can this connection support 5.1
second question
does RCA cable support 5.1 surround??
thanks in advance
Is it digital coax that you’re going into? Also, RCA is one channel each. So it only does stereo (2ch). Digital cables such as optical and arc can carry more.
@@SimpleCafeE YUP it is digital coaxial
so i think there will be no problem to make it sound surround yeah..
Ok cool. If that’s what you want make sure you’re converter has optical on the input side and coax on the output side.
What if my Bluetooth speaker is built in my ceiling and my tv doesn’t have Bluetooth. Is there a wireless way to do this to divert tv sound to my ceiling speakers? Any help would be appreciated 🙏
Here ya go th-cam.com/video/FWQWCIp6Bi0/w-d-xo.html
The speakers I want to buy have only XLR in. Can I make it work if I get an XLR to RCA cable to plug them into an amplifier with RCA out? The problem is also that I don't find a cable like that on amazon so maybe it doesn't even work.
Hi, pasi, did you find a solution!?
@@SimpleCafeE In the end I just went with a XLR (from each speaker) to one 3,5mm jack (connecting both speakers) directly into my PC, as I only use them there anyways and also don't need any amplifier or other audio interface this way.
Nice.
I have an aux for both speaker and tv but no settings in Tv for external speaker
Sir I had a aux cable and mini amplifier and its speakers but how to connect that with old CRT monitor model TV?
Your tv must have a input which says Audio OUT. Do you see it?
@@SimpleCafeE yes. My tv had 4 ports they are
Video in and out; Audio in and out
And my tv model is LG RF-20CA30K
Take a look at this video th-cam.com/video/_5NsxWIG2G0/w-d-xo.html
Hi how do i connect my TV to amplifier? Thank you
Thank you so much!
Nice smear. Is this the best you can do ?
So... I have a Sony mhc-gx99 system, and it oddly won't connect to my LG 19lg30 model TV, when I went to the settings, it didn't have the setting to use external speakers, it uses aux cables, what do I do? And the mhc doesn't use rca or whatever the red and white cables are
Audio and sounds and pictures yellow pictures red and white are speakers
I have an 11yr. old toshiba flatscreen w/ no remote. Recently I lost the sound so I bought small pc speakers. I cannot access the menu etc. Cannot get the sound on speakers. What else can I do to get them to work? TV works great except no sound. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Seems tough without the remote, however- if you happen to be using another device that connects to your tv there may be hope. Check out this other video I made - th-cam.com/video/CsHnqYGldj4/w-d-xo.html
But let me ask, did you plug the speakers into the aux port on the tv? What does that port say?
Hi I was wondering is their any other way to make the sound play through the speakers if my tv doesnt have speaker select or external speaker?? Its a old tv btw thx
The only thing would be playing out of a DVD player or another device which has RCA that you would connect your speakers to and then only the video cable we go to your TV.
My Tv has just hdmi and CVBS inputs while my LG boom speaker has just optical input. How can i connect the Tv audio to the speaker?
Thanks alot
Thanks bro
I have a Samsung Q60R Smart TV and I am thinking of connecting my Logitech Z623 speakers. I know that I will have to use the digital to analog audio converter. My question is, once the pseakers are connected, will I be able to adjust the volume from the TV using the Samsung remote control? Or will I have to use the volume that is situated on one of my Logitech speakers?
I just bought digital to analog audio converter for my android tv connection to my big karaoke speaker but still no sound to my speaker! Should i Connect amplier from tv optical port to amplier then to my speaker( just L/R cable)?
Hi M.C. Did you get it to work?
Still cant. Anyway i just bought Bluetooth speaker..
Very helpful, thanks
The equalizer is not working on the tv audio settings. Any solution?
Thank you bro
Wilson, thank you for watching.
Vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv thx brooo🎉🎉🎉
Biggest issue I have a smart tv with audio in not out. I have Bose companion 3 and I want to conn7tjem can u pls help
In your case since your tv won’t do it, next best thing would be to connect the audio to something that will. Then the video port of that to your tv.
@@SimpleCafeE i cant get it
please
I connected my zebronics soundbar to sony bravia tv ( SOUNDBAR ARC TO TV ARC VIA HDMI cable ) but when i connected by usbdrive/pendrive to TV and playing some movies..i m not receiving the sound in soundbar..but the TV is working fine, and youtube and netflix working fine.
I have a question?
Example
I Have Pc Speakers With Usb(Power Source) and 3.5mm Headphones Jack
Here the scenario:
My Old TV have Audio Problem and I want to use my Pc Speakers As a External But My Old TV have only RCA Output (Yellow,White,Red) so I try buying Adapter Which is Male RCA (White and Red) to Female 3.5mm Headphones Jack...
So Here my Question?
Will the Speaker Work or Not and I'm Hoping It could Work.
Great Video Btw it's so educational you earn my sub
Hey Protagonist thanks for the sub! Here’s the thing about what you’re telling me your tv has, red white and yellow exist in many TVs but there are two directions they can go and usually if you only have one of those sets, red yellow white, the direction ID usually for sending the signals in so you can play other devices into your tv. If you have another set, it could be ANOTHER in but will hopefully say OUT instead. If it did, you’re good to go!
@@SimpleCafeE Thanks 😊 your my lifesaver!!!
A terribe sound comes out when i conneted my tv to audio system using the aux to rca cable plz help
is the cable close to other cables or other electrical objects? may be picking up interference.
I've an RCA input on my speaker, aux on my LED TV. I used an adopter to convert RCA into aux and it works fine
Perfect! They also have cables like that.
i used same
but i listened some humming..... hmmmmmm
