FYI: at the cell stage the Cilia doesn't give speed, if you hover over it, it just says turn speed, the Flagella does say speed. Which is why you felt faster with those equipped. Because it is faster.

Still can't believe they never made an underwater expansion, seems like such an obvious win.
Im still honestly bummed that EA never gave us a Spore 2 with how popular Spore was. They could have expanded on what they already had, with more parts, longer creature segments, and of course the Ocean Stage.
@@countcr33per Honestly they barely gave us a Spore 1, so much was cut for time and they just kinda left it unfinished.
Considering how much work they spent on marketing in the months leading up to it, the game itself was mostly a let down tbh.
And then the release was botched so hard i think they just abandoned it altogether, not surprised they didn't make a sequel.
Excellent concept and you can certainly get a LOT out of it with custom challenges and whatnot, but the base game is kinda lackluster.
@MumboJ that's fair to say. It's unfortunate, because it's a genre of game that we don't have a very large pool to draw from with, as you said, a lot of potential. And as fun as Spore can be, I do feel that each stage was a bit too short on its own, and they honestly could have had better transitioning between the stages, as well as expanding on the variety of stages as well.

you are a bit slower with cilia because with cilia you move in bursts, rather than the constant movement of the flagellum. I usually like using one of each to keep a good speed

A Frenzy of Sharks sounds about right.

little tip: the fin thingies don’t make you faster, it just makes you have faster turns, the flagella are the ones making you faster.

So if you were wondering after about 14 years why some content was cut from spore:
Aquatic Stage was cut because of the issues with navigation and animations. Basically everything was janky and the devs couldn't work out how to optimize the experience. The game was never meant to be frustrating after all.
There was also meant to be a shop system starting from Tribal stage, but was cut to be replaced by the Sporepedia. The shops were meant so that you could get parts and other things to build with.
Hut editor: Likely cut because Tribal stage is super short (especially after scrapping about 70% of the ideas for it), and the game was never meant to be a standalone 4X game so they couldn't warrant stretching out Tribal.
I also vaguely remember there was rumors of potential age advancements between Tribal and Civilization stage, but again, the game was never meant to be a standalone 4X so that was likely scrapped.
So stoked for another Spore series

Nah, even sharks fear Orcas. The only things they don’t attack or mess with yet are humans, and even then it looks like they’ve been trying it out
all shark and many other fish have electroreceptor, they are called Ampullae of Lorenzini. Hammerhead shark have the most of them because of their head shape

I think it would be really cool if you made a spore creature that looks like a guy riding a creature. Something like the digimon: dorbickmon darkness mode one. Or another reference would be those halloween costumes of people riding dinosaurs. You could curve the spine up like the letter C so the creature head is on the bottom end and the rider's head is on the top end of the torso. Imagine it, a boy and his wyvern joined at the hip (literally)
To my knowledge the only species of Shark who hunt in groups are Hammerheads, and they just use the regular fish word for a group, "School." Although Google says there are apparently 5 words for a group of Sharks; a School, a Gam, a Herd, a Frenzy, and a Shiver.
When you get to making an aircraft or maybe the spaceship, I think it should be named the sharknado.

If you keep that mouth for the next evolution, you should make it a bit more narrow. It looks a little funny sticking out that far from the body.
Very excited to see another spore evolution from you! These guys are super unique, not even mad about the legs. If you find better finned feet (can't remember them all off the top of my head) maybe swap 'em out, otherwise I think you're pretty spot on for what you're doing! Initially I was thinking of suggesting 4 legged sharks and just call 'em landsharks or something lol

The proper EA version of Spore hardly ever crashes. Just the odd time here or there.
However, the Steam version is notorious for glitches, bugs and crashes...thats why I say don't get it on Steam.
Plus, some modern computers can't handle it properly, people set the graphics settings and resolution too high.

You could do a pigeon playthrough 😂 you'd have to eat everything, act really stupid in the beginning and as you grow and learn, you become intelligent in your decision making and create an amazing trading system between city like homing birds used to do with letters before WW2 😅.

Every shark feels the electric field around them, Hammerhead have more developed sense but all sharks use it to a certain extent. Also, you really think a shark would not eat something because it wasn't its kill?
