idea for a creature challenge: SCAVENGER! you can eat plants and/or meat (up to you!) but you are not allowed to hunt a creature or harvest fruit yourself. it has to be free-floating food pieces (cell stage) or a creature that was killed by another creature, or the fruit in creature stage that’s laying on the ground. basically if it’s not already dead then you can’t eat it! i’m not sure how food works in tribal stage, but if scavenging would be very difficult or not even possible by then, we can say that once they’ve evolved that much then they have figured out hunting and gathering lmao. you could design them like a vulture, but there’s lots of scavenger animals out there to find inspiration from! vultures are one of my favorite animals though so i think they would be cool, there’s also lots of beaks available in creature stage iirc?

SPORE! Wow this takes me back! Really enjoying this, very cute little character you got here. Also all octopi are carnivores. Fits with the beak option anyway. 43:17 The Spongebob music slayed me xD
1:43 Octopi is correct when referring to a group of only one type of octopus. Octopuses is correct when referring to a group of *multiple* types of octopus. And Octopussy is a James Bond movie.
Octopi are normally assumed to be carnivorus however, things in the ocean are a bit different. There aren't really plants as we know them, the closest are algae and it would be odd if there aren't octopi that at least supplement their diet with the plantlike matter.
Octopus are actually carnivores so yeah but they have proper beaks so either paths are fine. Edit: Scientist (2 red, 2 blue) would make the most sense for an octopus because they are intelligent.
You can still affect what type you get after you are done with the stage. You could have just kept eating plants so you could get omnivore. This also works for creature stage.
Don't know if you've tried this, but would love to see a legless challenge (any difficulty). The rules would be as following: 1. No speed parts in cell stage (flagellas, etc.) 2. No legs in creature to tribal stage. 3. No speed parts on your vehicles (meaning you have to have a 0 speed stat on your civ vehicles). 4. And of course the theme of the creature would have to be slug or snail So basically I want to see a tedious and slow playthrough of spore, hope you like it :)
@@jankster Thanks for the reply, I’ll make sure to watch those videos! It would still be cool to see you play a snail/slug run, since they, like the octopus, are pretty alien-esque. So, you were right in the long gestation idea. Also, gestation refers to the length of time an organism takes fron conception to birth. The term is not specific to mammalians. It is used for at least most if not all multicellular life. In some species of octopus, the mother guards the nest and keeps oxygen rich water flowing over the eggs for up to a year. This is turn weakens the mother and she usually dies not long after the eggs hatch.
Hey Jank.. Outta all the research and talking to some Marine biologists (yes i have a few on call) Most are carnivores, and from the species that my contact has studied none of them have any herbivore tendiencies, though Octopie are lightly social so ending in adaptive can be a good thought too

I would say a Tardigrade is alien like
How would it move if you do asymmetrical limbs and very slightly move each limb (I did that to a spider and walked kinda like the real thing)

Octopi is correct when referring to a group of only one type of octopus.

THE BABIES LMFAOOO
Platypus definitely takes "earth's weirdest animal "
Actually, Octopi only have 7 "arms" and one OwO, which they do use as an "arm" when not mating.
The 8th limb is actually an arm, it’s an arm modified into also being a reproductive organ
Basically a doink for a finger
Fun fact! In the cell stage, you can put both the carnivore and herbivore mouths on your creature, makes it easier to get the path you want.
I wonder if he will go the Mind Flayer route
Weirdest animals: Platypus, octopus, echidna, antarctic scale worm
You could have given him jets, since that’s how they move

Spore tips use herbivore in the beginning of cell stage for omnivores, as there is less plant material to eat later on
What if Vulture next. A challenge where you gotta scavenge instead of hunt
