I began quilting while I was pregnant with my first child. I took lessons with a group of women. We made an Ohio Star quilt pattern. My daughter (now 33) still has that quilt.
Oh! I just bought the dino kit from you at the Mid-Atlantic Show! I'll definitely use Broad Strokes pattern. I had a tough day today- headache at work, and I'm exhausted and a bit out of sorts, but your video made me laugh out loud, thx so much for posting!
I made 2 Checkmate quilts this week and I am pinning them with minky backing. They will be ready to quilt this weekend. Both are for a friend that has a new infant and a toddler. I did down size the infant quilt to 37” x 48”. I love Fabric Cafe’s patterns they are so easy quick and fabulous!
You guys bring much joy and laughter to quilting. I love watching your videos. I am currently working on the "Love Note" quilt kit for my friend's granddaughter. Your patterns are so quick and the instructions are so easy to understand!
Just finished a baby quilt using urban chic. Fussy cut the fabric one so didn’t do the strip piecing. Made it 4 x 5 and plan to use the extra blocks on the back. Really enjoy your patterns.
In the Bold blocks pattern it would be helpful if you noted that if you are using directional fabric to sew fabric #3 on the left on 6 squares and on the right for 6 squares like you did in this video. The pattern only states states to sew on one side of square and the bottom. It also states to refer to the step A assembly picture which only shows it on the right. I now have to rip out 6 side seams and move them to the left, luckily I hadn't added the bottom strips yet. Yes, I read the entire pattern but as a new quilter it didn't register about rotating the blocks to complete the rows, which would affect a directional pattern. Thank you. I do enjoy your videos. You are always so cheerful. please disregard what I had posted about the 1 1/2” strips being short. I figured that part out.
Hi Sandy, I appreciate your feedback. Information about how the written instructions are perceived is helpful as we update or write new patterns. Thanks so much! Donna
Hey Holly! Typically our pieces and parts aren't used to make a full quilt, often we make them specifically to demonstrate in the video. But the process would be the same for someone making their quilt top. Thanks for watching!

This was such fun to watch! Wish we had more little ones! How was the Va quilt show? Cath J
We had such a wonderful time! Nothing better than seeing old friends and meeting new ones! Donna
When you do pieces and parts, do you actually make the full quilt with the pieces you show?
I don’t work for them but I believe in the kit you get all you need to make the top part of the quilt. You have to get the batting and base fabric.

Oh Fran, you have to show us Blake’s quilt!
Yes! We will have to share my first quilt. It will definitely encourage any first time quilters! :) Donna
@@FabricCafe wonderful! I’m so excited! It will definitely encourage me. I’m sure it’s terrific!
💛💛💛
On button quilt hard to see the light fabric against the white you used to put it on. Can see better when you crop it
Is there a pattern that works well with stripes?
Hi Judy, here's a link to a video we did featuring striped fabric. th-cam.com/video/krdVZYVBl-Q/w-d-xo.html
What?!? Fran has a 30 year old child? So she was a child bride since she looks sooo young!
