Thanks for all your wonderful 3 yard quilt books. I have just ordered 5 more of your books. I will then have 9 of your books. The quilts are very easy to make and the patterns are so easy to follow.
Donna, love you and your 3 yard quilts! Greatest thing since sliced bread! I have every book and every individual pattern... I think. If not, I'm close! Please keep doing what you do. You're the expert. Thank you so much for giving us all such fun, and creativity without the headache. God bless! Donna Bohmfalk Houston TX
My go-to patttern is Town Square from your Easy Peasy I love it and have done several different teams for my sons, a religious theme for friends at church and a ballerina focus for a young lady
This is a great video to encourage anyone to step out of their comfort zone! So fun to see the different fabric combinations made from the same pattern. It’s to infinity and beyond! Thanks for your encouragement, motivation and inspiration. As always, enjoyed watching your video.
It's hard to break out of the norm we have set for ourselves. I know I've worked hard to break my habit of selecting the same things over and over. Donna
Thank you so much for showing how different each pattern will look in different fabrics. I want them all and have to stop myself from jus going on line and ordering them all! Great video! And they are a lot of fun to make for sure!
Hi Donna! You said it! Your 3 yard quilts are magical! I love seeing the same pattern in different fabric combos. The quilting on your quilts is beautiful!
I loved seeing the patterns made up in various fabrications. That is what I love about the 3 Yard Quilts you have designed. Sometimes I take one of my kits and open each of the four books I have in my stash, and imagine what that fabric would do in each pattern. Using your Fabric One, Two and Three system makes these kits really successful.
Clever to show same pattern with lots if different fab ric. Like the quick to the point videos..many other sites have way too long videos. Greetings from winter in South Australia!
I absolutely loved and enjoyed seeing the patterns in various fabrics. One of my challenges and fears is matching fabrics so this was a fun way to see how different colors go together. Keep the videos coming!!
I have fabric for the Dominique pattern. I am doing a twin size as a graduation gift. I have 4 years before she graduates but I have lots of grands so need to get a head start.
I would love to see you do a "trunk show" video of various patterns of yours that all used stripes in one of the fabric placements. I have sub-folders on my computer in my Fabric Cafe Folder, with all the titles of your patterns that I've bought. Recently I started a folder titled, "Patterns With Stripes" - so I'm hoping you'll give me some more for it. It's funny how seeing a pattern in a different colorway will suddenly make me want to make that pattern when previously I wasn't as excited about it. And often I'll think, "I have just the fabric for that pattern!" Of course every week I see you display new kits that I would also like to buy, but I have to discipline myself and say, "What do I already have that I can use to make in that pattern?" And often I change my mind about your kits that I've already bought for one pattern and decide to use it in another pattern. So many choices, so little time . . .
@@FabricCafe - Yes, I did watch that video when it came out on May 25. But it only showed "Gallery" and "Sew Quick" patterns actually made up in complete quilt tops vs the Pieces and Parts you displayed for kits. I realize you can't make a video out of everyone's request; I'm just making a suggestion for down the road after you've made still more patterns and used stripes in them. Perhaps you'd be willing to share in a video pictures that your customers have made using stripes in additional patterns. Until then, I'll check out Pintrest.
Hi Valerie, our 3-yard quilt patterns are designed to work with yardage not fat quarters. Check out our Fat Quarter book, Fat Quarter Fun at www.fabriccafe.com
Do you have any actual sewing videos? I know you want to sell fabric but I would like to see one of your patterns actually put together sometime. The strips and how they all piece together.
I love Batiks...6 months ago I didn’t even know what BATIK meant!🤓 But, my question is....Would it be OK to put a normal quilting cotton on the back of a pieced batik front or is that a NO NO???
Hi Rita, The main consideration is how you will launder the quilt after it is finished. The one thing to remember about mixing Batiks and regular cotton is that the Batiks have already experienced immersion in hot water. So in essence, they are preshrunk. I use regular, high quality cotton on the backs of most of my quilts, even batiks. If you plan to launder the quilt you might consider overcasting the edges of regular cotton and prewashing it so that any shrinkage happens before the quilt is assembled. Donna
That's exactly right! 1 kit will make a lap quilt, approx. 45"x60". 2 kits will make a twin and 4 kits will make a queen/king. There are instructions in any of our books that talk about how to enlarge the patterns. The individual patterns only include the sizes for the lap.
My first time to watch you. Very interesting. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice and more gorgeous fabrics....so yummy!
Thanks Debby! Donna
Hi Donna, so envious of how toned your arms are!
Fascinating how different a quilt can look in a different colorway.
Hi Michele, it's fun to see the variety of looks! Donna
Lovely 🎉
Just tuned in to your show and oh my I love your necklace/chain!!!

Loved this video. So many options. So much inspiration. It’s amazing what a different look a quilt has depending on fabrics.
I’d be interested in hearing how you got the idea for 3 yard quilts and how Fran and everyone joined in.
I have fabric for the Dominique pattern. I am doing a twin size as a graduation gift. I have 4 years before she graduates but I have lots of grands so need to get a head start.
Lucky grands! I love Dominique! Send me a photo when you finish making it! Donna
When you show your kits, you should show it made up like Fran did in the fabric matcher video.
Love your flower colors! Do you have video of someone sewing the pieces so I can get my block started on Garden Path? Thank you1
Hi Mary, We do not have a sewing tutorial on that quilt. Thanks for watching! Donna

We published a whole show on how to work with striped fabric on May 25, 2021. That might fit what you are looking for. Donna

Excellent
What is your favorite square template to use? Fran has mentioned it when she was helping?? Make her second quilt.
Black & whites, batiks, and bright prints are my favs.
Question about the focus blocks in the Pretty Please pattern. Should it be 18 blocks?
Yes, 18. Donna
@@FabricCafe thank you.
Small mistake in the newer pattern
@@mellystorms7759 I'll check. Thanks!
Yep, I goofed when we updated the pattern! Thanks for letting me know. We will post a correction sheet and correct the pattern in reprint. Donna
I would love to see your 5 yard patterns.
We only have a couple of five yard patterns. Search fabriccafe.com to find them. Donna
Can these work with fat quarters? I just love the variety!

@@FabricCafe Thank you so much. I’ll do that.
Could you sometimes show your fabric backs ?
How about a teenager quilt with “red” as his favorite color? I have just started watching your videos. These quilts look so fun!
Hi Janica, that should be easy to do! Just pick our three 1 yard cuts in the colors you prefer. Donna
They are fun and so fast to put together with the strip method. I know you are going to love creating them! Enjoy.

No. I am usually making a quilt for a family member or a season/remembrance for me and my husband so I choose fabric based on that.

Yes Donna they should be putting those babies on the floor. Children who have a chance to crawl about will achieve better or faster in school
Hi Floy, thanks for your comment. I never used a playpen for my kids. It was always a blanket on the floor. LOL Donna
What is the name of the fish fabric?
Kaufman Tropical Fish from 2017 or 2018

To make a larger quilt, do I just buy multiple kits?
