I had a p0455 code and never fixed it and it went away, the check engine light came back on with a p0300 code misfire code. Is this because I never fixed the purge valve code
Hey guys, I want to share my experience. I have a '11 A3 2.0 TFSI CCZA engine (147kW). I had 2 faults on the engine: P0299 underboost, and P0441 - purge valve incorrect flow or smth. My symptoms were: cold car stinks as hell with fuel, on cold misfires when driving calm, even when hot and pushing there was this step of boost from 2500rpm and before that car was a bit slugish. Also very interesting, that on idle if I was reving pedal to the medal, the rpms were jumping from 4000 to 3700 then up again and with live diagnostics each bump down was counted as missfire. So I changed the purge valve - 06H906517AA, and guess what: car is now much smoother, power is there (the underboost fault, it was not affecting so much the performance, I did not have any check engine lights, at the Audi center they checked that there slight underboost, I think they test drove it and checked real time values), no step at 2500 it goes very smooth from zero to hero, and guess what, the idle rpms full throthle are now stable, the RPM holds at 4000 steady calm, before it was not like that. I changed only the purge valve without the plastic piping. Hope it helps for someone :) I never wanted to believe that it was carbon build up issue, as my car had new intake manifold fitted at 100k km, it had NEW original turbo fitte as well.

I never would have guessed that the particular valve was amongst the suspects. It wasn’t appearing on the diagnostic by the way. Anything but that. Anyway, I changed that as well. I also replaced the pcv valve, crankcase seal, clean out the carbon residue, sparks, and some other things. But the problems remained as you described. Not even the dealership could detect the issue. I had to educate myself on TH-cam and the help that I got from various videos on VW issues was better than the 3 mechanics that i changed after the dealership. I was losing my mind brother….
Like others, i'm wondering if the evap system on a whole can cause a kind of knocking sound, sometimes its rhythmic when the cars been driven quickly and its like the pressures escaping idk

I got the same problem, changed loads of things, in tank fuel pump (Genuine), spark plugs and coils, intake valve cleaning done, Genuine NEW MAF, new K04 injectors, new N75 valve, New N80 valve, New PCV (genuine), new non genuine turbo, Cam chain is new, Cam belt is new, Car is on 176000 miles, stage 2 remap made 290bhp, then a few weeks after the remap its misfiring under load. If it force it to keep trying to go, It gets a flashing CEL, and misfire on cyl 2 and random multiple misfires. Always run on 99octane fuel. Car drives perfectly under normal load, but trying to get up hills or accelerate fast it splutters and misfires. Someone must know what the issue is???

I just replaced my purge valve which was stuck open on my Volkswagen and my misfire condition went away. It was surging when I would put the clutch in and no one could figure out why. I can start my car the first time after filling the gas tank now too.
hello guys , i have a toyota corolla 2015 , 1.8l , i have two codes p0441 - incorrect purge flow p2420 - evap emissions system switching valve control circuit high ( ive read that toyota calls purge solenoid the switching valve ) - ive tried to look around for broken wires or hoses or lose hoses or any other physical damage but found nothing , i think its the purge solenoid that i need to test , which is usually on the top right-ish corner of the engine if ur standing at the front of car facing the engine, one question is should i buy a multimeter to test the solenoid or can i do this pinch test like shown above in video? also for the past month or so the car has barely had any acceleration. it feels like u really need to step on the pedal to get up to some speed. it feels like the car is like suffocating , like not delivring full power i tried looking at the live data but im still pretty confused , SHFT1(%) 0.8 - 1.6 , LNFT1(%) -9.4 O2S11-- +3.3 , O2S12-- +0.115 AND THEN there was SHRTFT12(%) - 99.2 . THIS last shrtft has me scratching my head , this whole thing has me scratching my head, im so very new at this but im thinking the car is running rich cuz its getting too much fuel cuz the purge solenoid is stuck open? the oxygen sensor 11 just stayed at +3.3 didnt move or anything . im not sure what is makin it run so rough:( if anyone can guide me on what i can do , where i can start. any help would be appreciated , thankyou for taking the time to help!
Yes on my wife's 17 mustang 2.3 it had a misfire. Ford could not diagnose it... why? Cuz check engine light did not come on yet. Went there 3x. All the had to do was look at fuel trims levels. All mechanics at stealerships are glorified parts changers. If it dont show a CEL. (Check engine light). They don't know what the hell their doing. So I borrowed my buddies snap-on scanner looked at fuel trims. Boom. Found it. Two weeks later CEL Light came on. After 20k of misfire. And 3x to ford.
I have the same problem on my 1999 audi a4 2.8 quattro and it runs good at high rpms and at dead stop it haves rought idle I change my plugs wires and coil pack and I still have a misfire on 4 5 6 and also the purge valve is making a ticking sound

After running 20 kms non stop , if I stop the vehicle for 2-3 mins and then again start then what happens is …… it starts and immediately loses power and stops. I have to crank multiple times during which it starts and stops every time……….: or else If I allow it to cool down for 15-20 mins with Bonet open then it starts and runs.
can a clogged canister vent cause engine running diffrent not missing just stumble possibly to much fuel along with pumping gas issues

i mean purge valve connected to oil seperator of vw engines so if it stuck open can cause some emiision problems

Have you tried the cam magnet and vvt valve ? Would have been one of the first things to do.

Mine to 😂2008 A6 open circuit on plug four and misfire on five with a evap system large leak and mine clicks over and over
