Wixoss Seminar - Removal Timing

  • Wixoss has a ton of options for SIGNI removal, and they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. But whether the removal vanishes or bounces, the timing of the removal is important as well. Learning why will help you set up situations to make the most out of each type of removal.
This was supposed to be a nice, quick video that ended up taking longer than I planned. These small videos always do. Removal is a huge topic, and even this small aspect of it can play a large role in games. If there's any other aspect of removal you'd like covered, or any aspect of gameplay in general, feel free to let me know. Have a great day/evening/morning everyone!

As I'm a played since allstar format, I can say that both of them good in their own way. The immediate removal effect is good for the treat that you need to. Not only when you need some space for the attack... like...something that auto effect on your attack step or Constant ones. the first one will done better than "when attack" trigger.
"When attack" is really good on a defense bait like the video said. It demand opponent to think on take action or save defense tactic for the end game.

There are definitely some advantages to main phase removal (or start of attack phase removal). Sometimes your opponent will have a high-value SIGNI you need to remove, and the opponent can stop attack-triggered removal with Attack-Phase effects. Each timing has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Another good strategy video! Looking forward to the future when setups allow for Osagitsune and Carina to become reliably powerful.

I've loved playing space since they were running Resonas, I'm going to force Carina into a deck regardless if it's good or not. Osagitsune is a solid roleplayer already, but more ways to pump opposing SIGNI would make her a more reliable threat.

Thank you for the videos! Myself and a roommate just started playing. We're enjoying a lot of the card interactions in the starter decks, but we're looking to more deeply understand the player interactions. Combat feels a bit linear, and sometimes the most interesting decision is whether you will attack or not. Could you in a future video maybe talk about the types of plays defending players can make when it is not their turn? I think understanding this aspect would increase our appreciation for the game.

I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! The starter decks are really good in Wixoss - they give you a nice selection of usable cards for more tuned lists, and give you enough depth you can actually get a feel for the game through them. That being said, defenses is definitely one area they're pretty weak in - a video on how to defend yourself in Wixoss sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!

I really like how damage and resources interact with gameplay. It feels very organic.

What's the best Wixoss discord server?

No clue. I've not really found one apart from one linked from the wiki called 'Card Games' - apparently there's a Wixoss discussion buried somewhere in there. But if you find a good one, let me know!
