Thank you for this video, can you explain what you mean when you say it’s mushrooming out?

By "mushrooming" I just mean that it is getting dull, fuzzy, and a little thicker than it should be.

Will sandpaper work to smooth out the sides that get dinged up from tapping them on the side of a pot? My one flat saute is almost to the point of splintering.

Definitely. There will be a little indentation when you're done, but that won't effect the functionality at all. You'll want to pick out any splintering pieces first, then sand until smooth.

I've been trying to train myself to tap them in the palm of my hand instead of the side of the pot since I noticed the splintering.

@@brettmoore6781 I keep reminding myself to do that! The other thing I try to do is to tap it on the flat side. You're probably not old enough to remember The Frugal Gourmet (Jeff Smith) but banging a utensil on a pot was his pet peeve! I think he mentioned it in every show!

@@lindawhite3799 you're right, I don't know of the Frugal Gourmet but I definitely used to tap all my utensils until I got Earlywood stuff. Now I'm very careful not to because I want to keep them nice!
