      Yeah, I agree, except I wouldn't call it a mistake. A mistake is something someone does without being aware of how they're acting. If I am helping my wife with cooking and I somehow end up accidentally cutting her in the finger while we're both cutting up some vegetables or something, then that is a mistake. What his parents did wasn't a mistake, it was a conscious choice to kick him out of their lives for good. Now they have to live with the consequences of their actions, no matter if they call it a "mistake" or "accident" or whatever else.

      I've read worse. There was one in which a son was accused by his cousin (15 at the time) of SAing her when she was a child, and he was excommunicated by the rest of his family immediately. They contacted him 9 years later telling him that they learned a month prior that it turned out the the cousin had made up the story. It's bad enough that his life was hell and had to go through therapy, but I think it's worse that his parents did not believe him.

      OP kind of hinted at how that may have been the case. He wasn't spoiled the way his sister was, and it sounds like they may have been a bit harsher to him as well, which gave him a reality check early on in life. You don't want to make life too easy for your kids, or they will grow up to be narcissists like this guy's sister and parents, and/or they will lack in maturity and not have the strength to stand on their own when they are adults. Ideally, life should be difficult but not too difficult while growing up.

      Best revenge is simply being happy, worst revenge is bringing drama to a happy day. Why spoil the day of love by seeing their faces? Plus they probably would yell at him and need to be escorted and cause drama (that he would always remember while thinking of his wedding day that should be about him and his wife) + they would totally bring the sister with them and who knows what she can do and what she can destroy. Spending any time of this wonderful day on them is a waste of time anyway, they don't worth the attention
      But my main point is... from this story it seems like op doesn't have any other relatives? At least he only mentioned his friends that helped him and that his only family is his wife so there no real point in making a scene cause it could be that they'll be embarrassed in front of people they don't know and don't care about and who knows that op went no contact with his family? So it's not like they'll be disowned or judged by the relatives and it'll just make them angry and sister already annoyed him with the calls and going to his house, they know where he lives
      This family doesn't deserve any energy of his and this "revenge" can have consequences

      Contraception isn't foolproof, unfortunately, as evidenced by statistics and shows like "I didn't know I was pregnant".
      Being unexpectedly pregnant and still having the baby is very common, too. Maybe they thought they'd have the emotional, mental, and financial resources to take care of a second child but realized later on that they lacked one or more of those. And it's not always easy to find help when you're struggling as parents - assuming they even realized they were struggling more than usual.
      So far, so common. I can't really blame them up until that point, and it sounds like OP didn't either.
      Please don't be so quick to judge parents of unplanned children. Most of them are really doing what they can.

    This story is a perfect example why you shouldn't immediately take sides after accusations are made until the full story comes out. It's a lot similar to when a woman accuses an innocent man of sexual assualt or impregnating her because immediately everyone will take her side because it's her word over a man's. False accusations have motives like in the story where the sister didn't want to get kicked out because of her affair so she falsely accused her brother for causing the divorce and with the SA/impregnating accusations are to either to get something out of the man or purposely ruin his life. False accusations can ruin an innocent person's life.

This counts for all rape victims of any age, gender or demograph.
      But yeah, your main point is correct, the greater matter is not to hold bias in either way, be diligent, have appropriate fair responses (disowning him for introducing the friend, as far as they knew? wat?!) and discovering the actual details. Man, that's awful. What horrible parents. Not even hiding their favouritism, just straight up blatant about it, and still saying op did something wrong. Either they can't admit they were wrong, or they are just that deep in their favouritism. Wild

    It's so sad and heartbreaking when parents abandon their kids and in turn expect their child to be respectful and kind towards them.

    That kind of parents don't deserve kids. they are just evil. and so are the the sister. They all had it coming, and don't think the OP was in the wrong. Good job for shutting them out. Hope they never bother you again

    I hope op stays with his wife forever and doesn't have to go through any divorce so that they may look back at this experience 20 yrs from now and laugh

      Hopefully the wife sees OP's handling of his family as a cautionary tale of what would happen if she did something stupid. Wish them a life full of happiness and hope OP creates his own family.

    I don't know what's more horrifying the fact that being a teacher doesn't pay a living wage or that such a person is allowed near children.

    I am at peace at the end of this video. I applaud him for everything and would raise a glass to him and be proud to call him a friend if I ever met him, I wouldn't have done a singular thing differently.

    These fake stories have even stopped trying to be realistic. A simple thought for the mind if the parents didn't care enough to instantly kick the son out of the house then i doubt they would have kept him there after 18 in the first place instead of waiting for a random ass excuse that wouldn't even be needed legally

  • @d007ization
    @d007ization 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    This is one of those stories that you can only hope are fake. Not only do they kick out their son, which some would argue they have the right and even obligation to since he's an adult, they cut off any contact with him for literal years, reacting to any attempts at contact by him with "we're calling the cops" and then have the absolute gall to act like he's the one being petty and somehow holding on to an old grudge. Like them threatening him with police when he walked in with evidence was completely acceptable behavior.

    whats so weird is how quick they were to throw both of them out the minute they had (supposedly) done something wrong. thats so not how families work and some people shouldnt be parents

  • @LordTyph
    @LordTyph 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    After all of that, THEY FORGAVE THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY LIED TO THE MAND MANIPULATED THEM?
    If this is true, OP's in the right, these people should have been DOING SOMETHING to show they were sorry.
