“The Russian high command in Syria assured us it was not their people,” Defense Secretary Jim Mattis told senators in testimony last month. He said he directed Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “for the force, then, to be annihilated.” Mattis
Problem is, that the US Nazis got nothing to do in Syria in the first place, especially not attacking the Syrian government and its troops. Of course Nazis don't care about such things. Never did, never will - well, until their rotting empire falls apart, as it alread does. Typical.
Technically the Wagner group never actually got to "attack". Basically their entire column was destroy 300m (1000 feet) SHORT of their "jump off point". Also, the fight happened AT NIGHT, which prevented the Wagner group to even SEE where they were being attacked from. And the Russian air force DENIED permission for their aircraft to help/respond to the Wagner requests for help, and there were no SAM sites that were reported to have fired on any aircraft. Overall, the battle lasted around 4hrs before there was basically nothing left to shoot at other than a few vehicles FLEEING back to the Russia/Syrian controlled area. Basically the USA "rained down hell" upon their heads BEFORE they could get to their "starting points" due to the fact that they had launched an artillery attack as "cover" to get into place.... until the USA got the okay to "fire back".
Don't forget to mention that the US did engage with Humvees and .50 cal M2. The SDF fled, absolutely none stayed because they saw the battle as pointless. The US convoy held back the ruskie light armor for 4 hours with precise fire thnx to NVGs. When they saw the tanks roll up, they thought the battle was lost, but thankfully that's when additional fire support started raining down. Since the Humvees were in such a rush to buy time, they had not loaded any anti-armor weapons such as Javelin. Thankfully it wasn't needed
Loved that shot of the B-1Bs, F-16s and F-15s crossing at treetop level - scary scene for sure. Great job - AS ALWAYS - with the video editing Cap. FUN FUN FUN. Keep up the great entertainment. GR RULES !

Damn. 2.9 is so good looking! The new models for the B-1 are just sick. All the units looks good. And having the exact 1:1 map and numbers is the best scenarios, even if it bogs down the frame rates in the end. Good job to all. And yes, that is a fine usage of kerosene. Much sexier than my space heater.
I really enjoyed that CAP! One of the most exciting and best videos of all time! And I love how you do a lot of your missions on actual battles, then just spice them up a little! GREAT JOB TEAM GR!!!
Hello CAP. This was a very good one. Your scripting has become amazing - as has the sim. What you can make AI do these days - great. May be I should come back to DCS ;-)
For some reason, idk what it is, this video was really exciting and entertaining. Ive watched a couple hundred of GR videos and this one is one of my new favorites.
I don’t know where the idea that the B-1s would carry dumb bombs came from. It’s all JDAMs. And the two sides on the ground seem to be WAY too close to each other.

what are the bombs that drop with a parachute, that drops mines, and kill everything, creates a wider area of kill, asking for you guy's to do another mission using them, instead of J dams. or unguided bombs
Imagine having a casualty report of 1 wounded to 50-100 wounded or dead on the opposing force. The Wagner Group has a funny history with U.S. Armed Forces. In another battle, I believe it was roughly 300 Wagner PMCs versus a U.S. Army forward operating base, one used to house artillery. The Wagner Group attempted to ambush them, but the Americans were alerted from afar, so they launched their artillery on them and called in Apache helicopters. By the battle's end, not one American had been touched by Wagner fire, but Wagner had sustained upwards of 150-200 casualties. I'd feel bad for the Wagner group if they weren't responsible for multiple atrocities, like numerous PMCs. You can literally imagine the sad trombone playing at the end of the battle.
Can I ask a question? Have you guys considered randomizing the skill levels of the red force between 3 and 5 to more accurately reflect both the skill level of the real red force and to help adjust the accuracy and readiness closer to what the real red force looks like? I mean for China sims yeah leave it all maxed but hasn’t the performance of the Russians in Ukraine justified a reduction of what DCS thinks these assets can do?
You're marginalizing the skill set of what's being posted on the Internet. We don't know the rest of the Russian Air Force performance except what's being posted. In some reports they performed horribly and some Ukraine says they're a threat or causing problems.
@@subjectc7505 I mean its not a far stretch to say that they are less skilled as they have a sizeable difference of hours flown to most NATO counterparts.

Isnt it the wrong Syrian flag on the thumbnail? Its the flag of the Free Syrian Army, a group that opposed Russian/Essad regime throughout the conflict itself. They also didnt have anything to do with this spesific battle aswell
Americans: Russia your guys are about to attack our guys, tell em to back up and retreat before we have to counter attack! Russia : We have no Military Forces in that Zone... Americans: Aight!!!
You left out the most important part of the story. Before the air power could engage, the Americas convinced the Russians to shut down the SAM systems that would have prevented US air strikes. Sacrificing Wagner as they were given permission to capture the area only to get the oil production for themselves and didn't overrun the Americans as easily as predicted, not intending to engage anything more than the garrison itself.
Another thing not mentioned was a convoy of humvees holding off the russian advance for 4 hours with nothing but precise M2 fire. The SDF didn't help any and retreated as soon as they saw the russian advance. And the American forces thought they would be wiped out, especially once they saw the tanks since they had no anti-tank weapons. They were willing to make the sacrifice to buy time for support. Luckily, support came just in time
Wagner was in communication with America during this conflict. They were wrongly informed no Americans were defending the refinery. Then, when the attack started, the special forces there radioed for support, and America threw everything they had at the attackers. Then, Wagner instantly retreated as quickly as possible when they identified American forces. It was an accidental engagement as Wagner knew they were no match for the American forces in the area. Most of what we hear about the engagement is propaganda.
There may have been 10 intructors from Wagner, but certainly not 500 people from that group. The other 490 were local mercenaries who were in no way related to the PWC.
I have a great video idea fro you guys: while the mig-19 lacks countermeasures, it does have signal flares- Would the signal flares of a Mig-19 be able to defeat an early sidewinder missile?
It's actually extremely triggering that you put Russian air defences in the "blue" area. It's like simulating a war scenario, but taking the "artistic liberty" to make both the sides "red". What's the point of the battle then? No seriously, stick to realism. You're not making things more interesting or harder by making everything your enemy, while you and 3 of your buddies are the good guys on a Top Gun mission... I'd like to see realistic interactions beyond just three planes bombing enemies everywhere. Spice it up by actually reading up, looking at maps, and making it realistic - let there be friendly fire, cooperation between ground and air, the restriction to wait before doing something, or to avoid bombing certain areas because they are friendly etc... It's A LOT harder this way.
R-77 and R-73 missiles: You mean AA-12 and AA-11 missiles. I grew up in the classic and HIGHLY realistic Microprose era of combat sims and we used NATO designations in my day. We never gave the enemy even the slightest level of dignity by acknowledging their own native BS weapon designations! Get a clue Cap!
