- So the iPhone 14’s are out (sort of) so here are my Top 10 picks. I’ve been keeping a running total on all the cases that have come out for this form factor (the iPhone 12 and 14 are generally the same size) and the list is a bit different than last years. This year’s list weight iPhone usability quite heavily!
As a side note, did anybody else not get their iPhone 14’s? Out of the 1/2 dozen I ordered, only one showed up…

As a fellow accessory reviewer, some of these cases aren’t available for the iPhone 14 series (yet) and some of these have some nice improvements that might change things a bit since a lot of these were the iPhone 13 versions.

I have only used Mous Limitless since I saw your recommendation for the 2.0 a few years back.
I’m glad they brought back the microfiber lining, and the floating buttons are an improvement from the previous iterations.
It’s just the best case out there.
I got it for the 14 pro, the volume and lock buttons rattle and there is no smooth transition on the back between the material and sides. Feels cheaper than all their previous models.

@@woki It is going to protect your phone, the issue is they changed the design to a 1 piece mold, and because of the need for tolarance, the space between volume buttons and case is noticeable, thus rattling. As for the lower part of the camera, if it fall flat, it's ok, however if falls on something with a smaller width than the camera protection ridges, it will hit it. Happy with it protection wise, but it feels cheaper than any other version.
I've seen many reviews of people saying the case didn't protect the back glass of their phone from a 4 feet fall, let alone a crane.

with the camera lens getting bigger, i personally think a camera shield type of cases is a must for better protection
I am new to your reviews and think you cover a lot- what you don't cover however is how WELL the magsafe on the cases works. some cases have magsafe, but are so thick it barely holds on a magnet magsafe holder.
As a person with a Caudable case due to your reviews a while ago, I LOVE THIS DANG CASE!! It's phenomenal! The textured case has amazing grip and I think it will always be my top tier case so thank you for that!
How about drop protection?
@@ManuelMas honestly I never really drop my phone. However I did drop it once in a parking lot. Not a dent or anything. Case still looks new.

I got the Mous Limitless 5.0 for my iPhone 14 Pro Max and LOVE IT. This is the third Mous case I've had and each one gets better. It just feels so good.

I was hesitant on the Atomic Slim case but I really have been enjoying it a lot lately. It does give you a different feeling in your hands but it’s comfortable and isn’t overbearing. The only downfall to a degree is the back of the case can’t get a bit slippery from time to time.
Also I will have to say, I did not like the Phone Rebel.. the raised corner edges on the back of the case was quite annoying.. it dug into your fingers/palms depending on how you held it. It did make me feel my phone was protected but just not enough..
I just wanted to say thanks for your great reviews. Snagged myself a Limitless 4.0 for my 13 Pro and more recently the 5.0 for my 14 Pro on your recommendation (and affiliate links ;) ). I cannot believe how big an upgrade this is over the 4.0. 10/10.

You are correct, I use to be totally sold on Otterbox, with my 12 Pro Max the Mous has been excellent for over 2 years now with a dbrand screen protector. I almost went with the Casetify over another Mous but I am not going to pay more just for a little visual fancy. Bamboo Mous for my new 14 Pro Max in Oct. I only upgraded because my 12 Pro Max is crapping out. Thanks
love this list, and completely agree. Mous has amazing cases but I wish they had more variety, like a brown or colored leather. Catalyst is my favorite because I loved to fidget with it but..... I may have broken the switch off the phone case, definitely recommend being gentle.

I’ve used Caudabe for the past 3 generations. The sheath has been reliable through drops and is thin and adds almost no weight. It’s great in many aspects except for trying to lean it on stuff. It does tend to slide on smooth surfaces but the grip is perfect in the hand.

wish there was a master list to what cases you reviewed. For example I really like how the Nomad Cases look, would be nice to see how it did in other categories like the protection and so on.
I'm now rocking the Mous Limitless 5.0. I have the Amarid one which has a great feel but it does smudge easy. It's my favorite feeling case next to Apple's leather case. dBrand's case is a little uncomfortable to hold and the magnets for MagSafe kinda suck with a skin on.
i love your dedication aaron, one thing i would like for your further and long term testing is the rhinoshield mod nx case, they look amazing and feel like a snug fit at first, but after few months of using i have noticed the frame starts to become very loose until the point where the frame can be pushed away from the phone with slight force, this absolutely ruins the whole protection because if your phone falls, the phone edges will slide out from the frame and hit the floor instead, there are tons of feedback regarding this but rhinoshield just doesnt seem to care, i got a new replacement unit from rhinoshield but the same issues persist, the quality of the product is just inferior
secondly the locking mechanism of the frame and the clear plate is also quite bad as both will separate with just a bit of nudge
so called best protection, but if your phone ends up getting exposed, whats there to protect?

Had the same experience with the Mod NX case. Great idea on the paper, but it gets hella loose in the long term. My advice for anyone looking into Rhinoshield would be to buy the SolidSuit case
Hi there, could i get your opinion on your number one spot, the Limitless 5.0 against the Clarity 2.0 from Mous too? Would they offer the same protection and what about the magsafes? Are they equal strengths?

Hello do you know if the regular iphone 14 case will fit the iphone 13 without any wobble issues? I am curious because a lot of 13 cases don't have magsafe while those for the 14 does and I'm looking to buy one if it fits.

I’m waiting for the Phone Rebel Gen 4 Naked case. The Gen 4 brings back the TPE in the corners and added a silicon gel in the back for shock.

This is so helpful. I’ve been searching for days for a bumper only like rhinoshield offers. I’d be curious to see some random Amazon brands in a longer video. Also I’d love to know the case thickness on the back of each. Trying to maximize wireless charging (which is why I’m excited about no back like rhinoshield)

Hey, all phone rebel gen3 cases have TPE in the corners. Phone rebel have ensured to keep the color of TPE same as the case. Looks like you need to revisit. 😅 i owned a frosted clear and black gen3 and both have TPE according to respective color of the case.
I love my Catalyst case; however, it doesn’t have mag safe built in to it. Is there a product that you recommend that I could add to the case to make it mag safe?

Nice video man. Stumbled across your channel earlier today when trying to figure out which case to get. Not featured in your videos but I ended up going for the Mous Clarity 2.0 with MagSafe. I’m guessing Mous’ build quality and attention to detail will carry through to this case, and I really wanted to try a clear case! I also appreciate that the MagSafe part is black rather than white, which should match my deep purple phone better! Thanks for the video

Hey, I’m thinking of buying the same case so I wonder if it already arrived and if you were able to test it with your iPhone and are you happy with it and do you think it’s worth it since it is more expensive then the 5.0 once but has less protection I assume but as you I would like a case where you see the new dark purple.
@@phoenix_4328 hey man unfortunately I have bad news! The case came but the back is slightly tinted so when it was put on the phone, the purple colour was darkened and it just looked black, which didn’t really contrast nicely with the purple camera section.
As well as that, there is absolutely no camera bump protection at all. None. There’s no lip that rises to cover the camera, so if you were to drop the phone on the back, the cameras would be the first thing to hit the floor with 0 protection. That was a dealbreaker for me.
There are a couple minor issues, like the speaker cutouts being equal either side of the charging port rather than matching the speakers, which isn’t a big issue but just feels kinda lazy. The front protection has raised corners rather than an equal length protection around the sides of the phone, which is probably fine but I didn’t like how it felt in hand.
So yeah, personally disappointed and will be returning it for a refund. Hope this helps!

I’m interested how the mous limitless and mous evolution with intralock compare. Is the evolution basically the same case with the same protection with the intralock function ? This is not obvious looking at the website
Just a heads up. The clear MagBak case is better than their soft touch offerings. It took them way too long to make a clear case but they finally did. I'm a fan of their strong magnets for mounting and still having Magsafe/wireless charging. This is my 3rd iPhone with their cases. The only reason I've avoided Mous cases is because EVERY year, it seems, one Mous case and mount only works with the old iPhone. I'm not interested in having to buy a whole system each time a new phone drops. See iPhone 11 to 12 to 13.
Surprised he didn’t mention how awful the MagBak was for fingerprints. Loved the case but hated looking at it.

Bought an orange Apple leather case for my 14 Pro. Loved the black leather Apple case on my 12 Pro (and brown on my X). Also just ordered a Pitaka MagEZ 3 today, so I’m excited to get that in. Was going to get another Phone Rebel Flex as I really enjoyed it on the 12 Pro, but I DID have a crack in mine after a short time and even though they replaced it immediately, I think I might go another route. Had the Caudabe Sheath on my X and at first it was great, but the material felt like griptape after a while. Loved the Ringke Onyx but they don’t have MagSafe and I’ve invested too much in that to deal with non-magsafe cases. RhinoShield’s SolidSuit is decent but a bit slick for my taste. Their buttons are some of the best available. Might try the Mous Limitless this time around. Planned on getting another Spigen Tough Armor for outside use, but might just get the Mous and call it a day.

Have you looked at the Magbak clear case? Only ask because I’ve seen potential issues with the MagBak silicone case taking on fingerprints and difficulty cleaning.

is there a difference between mous leather case vs aramid fibre (safety wise)? it looks like the leather replaces an important layer.
Suggestion pls. I am going from an 11 to a 14. I LOVE the grip on my speck candyshell grip but they no longer offer it. I like how the grip goes from the sides and extends to the back giving you a little friction all over. Which case comes the closest for my “butterfingers”. (you mentioned the dbrand is too grippy on the sides but the back probably has no grip once you put the skin on it). Suggestion appreciated. thx !
I have the Mous Clarity 2.0 for my 14 pro max. I like this case because it has that trusted Mous drop protection and grip, and it’s clear so that I can see the back of my Space Black phone. I’m not too surprised it didn’t make it on the list just because Mous is still experimenting with clear cases. But I think that this is still one of the best clear cases.
He just dropped a review of it and called it his favorite clear case. So, I guess that means it beats out the Casetify now. I just got a Clarity 2.0 and I'm a bit sketched out about the lack of camera protection. I know the lenses are sapphire glass, so I guess worrying about them has just been ingrained into us from day one. Do you have any worries with the half ring on yours? I like the case otherwise.

Looking at the mous 5.0 limitless for iPhone 14 pro the camera ridge is only on three sides. It missing from the bottom will that cause issues since the camera lens is not fully protected.
I have been watching your series for a couple generations of phones now. Mous always makes it toward the top of the list and I purchased the case last year based on your recommendation. I still find the same issue with Mous that you've never mentioned. How sharp the edges are in the hand, and how much hand fatigue it can cause on the larger phones. I used Mous for all of a week due to this and eventually settled on the Nomad leather case just because of how well it feels in the hand. Yet somehow it doesn't make the list?

Have you looked at the TORRAS Ostand iPhone Magnetic Series Case with kickstand? It looks like the casekoo but can’t tell if it has lanyard holes.
