Marinated merganser in white wine (i think it was Sauvignon Blanc) w/ chopped up pear, apple, and orange, and some herbs for about 6-7 hours and it wasn't fishy like at all while every recipe I had read had said it would be super fishy

Interesting, grape seed confit. I’ve seen many different oils used for confit, usually butter or animal fat(obviously). I bet it’s still delicious, the only reason the French used animal fat and butter is because that’s all they had.
Render whatever fat you have. Why are so many people against rendering deer fat? Trim it fresh and render before aging the meat. Boom, there's your confit and you didn't have to press a million grape seeds, or depend on a large corporate organization to do it for you. 😉
@@Jsmalls003while deer fat may be tasty in some cases, the body physically cannot process deer fat the same way we can digest beef or pork fat. If someone were to eat enough of it over a period of time, it can cause the G.I. tract can become impacted and cause all sorts of issues. It’s a bit like wax in how it behaves.

Get a sous vide. Marinate goose titts in a bag or bowl in whatever you like for seasoning, then cook in the sous vide water for about 4 hours at 135degrees. Remove from sous vide bath and sear it at 500degrees 45seconds/side

I saved snow goose legs and was very pleased with their flavor. The leg meat on a snow goose is like a chicken leg. Tender with a mild flavor.

I use coconut oil, but don't forget to save your oil for fried potato.

Way healthier alternative to ant and all oils.

Eh, you lost me at grapeseed oil. I try to stay away from seed oils for health reasons. Any good substitutes?
About the only oils that don't come from a seed are avocado and olive
