Oh crap I think I remember her from Alvin's video on Goldee's BBQ crazy to see she already did what she said she would do and has her own place now
Same here! So happy for her that she’s got her own place and is setting out to create her own legacy. Truly wish her and the restaurant nothing but success!
yes! came here to mention that!
I watched this thinking she somehow looked familiar. Now I remember. Alvin's film was really good. Happy to see she's made it and opened her own place.
She's a rock star.
@@kevingibson2519 You wanted everyone know that knew that, too?
I remember watching Alvin's video where Chuck said she "If a BBQ place has a good pit master, they either have to offer them ownership or they open their own place... I want to open my own place".
I'm so happy to see she opened her own place! It looks amazing! I will definetly have to visit when I go to Texas. I hope it will make Chuck happy that I flew in from the UK just to try her BBQ... and see my friends ;)
It takes cajónes to open a BBQ place in the epicenter of BBQ in Texas. She went right into the heart of the beast and did it HER way. 25 years old too! She has a very bright future!!
y cant u talk and act normal u f
u talk like a movie character be normal u f
She was the pitmaster at goldee's (which was named best barbecue in texas while she was the pitmaster) before opening her own place. So I think she had some inclination her food was going to be a hit.
@@jishani1 talk nomrla u f
Mistaken.
She smiles througout the video! That comes from doing something you love.
Thats what women are only good at
She is amazing! From bottom of the ladder at Goldee's to owing her own thriving business in a little over 3 years. What an incredible work ethic and determination she has. I cannot blame Diego for being starstruck she is amazing. She's still in her 20's sky's the limit for her
Been in Texas for 49 years and that brisket looked spot on
Can't wait to try it! My boyfriend and I drove from South Austin to get lunch there on a Sunday a couple months ago, but you had already sold out, which speaks volumes. You ladies still greeted us and gave us a complimentary dessert and green juice since you had sold out. (Both were great by the way!) We thought that was so kind and generous of y'all! We will make it back sometime to try the meats 😊😊
I recognised her straight away from the previous BBQ video she was in. So glad she's made her own place like she planned!
no matter how many smoke point videos i watch, i still have no clue what goes into trimming the fat off a brisket. you'd think after literally hours of watching, you'd pick up something! wow what an art
Me too 🤣🤣
What a queen! You can tell her passion and hard work! Great to see the young generation in BBQ!
Can't believe this gal is only 25! So accomplished and such an inspiration!
Love that chuck is getting all this love and coverage. She deserves it! Great food, great person 💯 thanks for sharing!
Was goi to ask when you’d be doing a video on them and seen that you already did it 2 weeks ago and I missed it! Know what I’ll be watching later 🤙🏼
Ngl green spaghetti has always been a well kept secret in hispanic communities bc it’s so darn addictive yet so easy to make. In my personal experience it’s always there for Christmas, new years, and now thanksgiving. I am happy Chuck put it out there for everyone to try, it was about time someone did.
yep as a kid i thought my mom invented it when she would make it for parties. 😅
This is amazing to see that she actually followed through with her plans of getting her own place and is Succeeding! Badass Woman!
I learned more tips about brisket in 5 min from Chuck than I have in the last 10 years watching other pit masters.
Barb was still working at Goldees when I took the class there. You could tell she knew what she was doing and they told us she was taking out on her own soon. What a inspiration to young women in the USA!
So we all recognize her from Alvin's Goldees film lol. Great to see that she stood on business and started her own thing like she said she would.
When I saw the Mexican chocolate I swear I shed a tear. I'm not even Mexican but i love that stuff. I want to go to this place. She's very smart.
Huh??
@@whereRbearsTeethyea, I’m confused
@@whereRbearsTeeth Duh?
There is hot chocolate and it tastes good. Then there is hot chocolate using these Mexican blocks that tastes amazing. Imagining them being used outside of their traditional use makes you imagine how wonderful it must taste. Brings a tear to the eye of anyone who grew up with this hot chocolate. This is because it brings back childhood memories of time spent with your parents or grandparents. Hope I explained it.
@@71gmonet Correct. Humans have emotional attachments to certain foods. Chuck puts her soul into her cooking and I'm acknowledging that I get it.
Remember seeing her in a goldee's video a 1-2 years ago. Great to see good BBQ cooks making there own twist on texas BBQ.
Love the Mexican influence. Makes me wish I was closer. Maybe next time I'm visiting family in Texas
We’ll be seeing Diego’s video in 5 years lol
This woman is just so amazing. I'd walk 500 miles to try that food. Omg the reveal at the end was just mouthwatering.
Ah she is such a good communicator! Clear mastery and care in her craft and she communicates it so easily. 🤩
Wow. I am root'n for Chuck and all involved with Barbs B Que. Heartwarming for sure. I like to see and support people who love what they do, are good at what they do and can make a great living at what they do. I enjoyed Chuck's video time while at Goldees, she has such a calm presence about her and now she is dialed in and focused at creating great food at Barbs. What a gentle soul and I love how she talks about her mom teaching her and now she teaches her mom. Her mom has a lot to be proud of. I'll make a trip to Barb's for sure. She has a great vision and bright future!
I really thought Lockhart had enough barbecue restaurants until I saw her passion and commitment. Now I’ve got to make a special trip south.
I'm nowhere near Texas, but somehow I'm in love with Chuck and what she's done. That brisket looks amazing! 😍😍
So proud of her. She had a vision and a dream that she said she was going to open a place and she did it. I know success is already hers, as she's passion driven, not money driven.
My LORD I need that in my life! I remember seeing Chuck in a pretty amazing mini-doc about Goldee's and thinking how cool it was that a latin woman was gaining so much respect in the bbq scene. Amazing to see her open her own spot to plant her footprint!
Stop making things about race. You are what is wrong in this country.
@@whereRbearsTeeth Her dishes/cooking/spices is *explicitly* influenced by her heritage. She says so herself, multiple times in the video. Chill bro.
Some of the best I've ever had. Chuck is extremely nice, humble and gracious to boot. 🔥🔥🔥
You can’t hold back an achiever. Go Girl!
"We are just wrapping the turkey with a little bit of butter"
Gordon "Wow"
Marco Pierre White “I prefer my butter through a syringe but it’s her really choice”
I've eaten at ~10 different BBQ joints in Central Texas. Barbs is easily one of the best and a strong contender for the next Texas Monthly Top BBQ list. Line can take a long time to get through but it's worth it.
Seeing Chuck's journey is so heartwarming
NGL she’s killing it for only being 25, good on her 👊
she seems to have been making BBQ in her past life, what a wise woman
She's worked at a previous bbq place
The production on this is excellent. Job well done.
I remember seeing her in another video. I love her energy and how positive she is. The food looks amazing too.
I remember her saying that eventually she would open up her own place. Glad to see it happening. Definitely on my list of places to go. Grats!
I remember her from goldees well it’s nice to see she followed her dream of one day opening up a bbq shop, she’s very sweet and beautiful
Now that's what I'm talking about Chuck, always knew you could do it (:
Love seeing the raza stepping into the bbq world & showing off authentic dishes to a new crowd. Hope nothing but the best for Chuck & her squad !
Wow! Everything on those trays going out the customers looked freaking awesome! Wish I’d lived down there to try it
Can vouch, eaten here earlier this year. Fantastic food, and the ladies working here were all super nice as well. Their sauce is to die for. They were still workshopping desserts and sides when we went and told us as much but everything was still so good. It was worth the drive south and the hype! Happy to see her getting attention they deserve
I just ate and the close up of that brisket was making my mouth water.
So glad to see y'all getting some recognition I can't wait to make the drive out there from Chicago
Love watching her journey and hearing that laugh 😊 Go Barbs, go!!
I instantly recognised this girl from the previous Goldee's video she was in and she said something along the lines of "you either get levels of ownership in where you're working, or you start your own business up", glad to see this talented young lady go out by herself, she was the pittmaster for when Goldee's won the award, so she clearly has a future! Nice video! Also not sure if you realised but you can see it's a Goldees smoker at 17:52!
WAIT, SHE GOT HER SPOT? Wow, I'm so happy for her! I watched her say she was going to from the Goldee's video! Jesus Bless her business! I'm going there to spend a couple hundred to support!
Beautiful food. Beautiful hard work. Bless!
That's the absolute best looking brisket I've ever seen!!
She knows what she's doing at such a young age. Kudos!
Coming from Goldee's to starting her own spot - amazing! Can't wait to try this!
She’s OG at this point. She’s an absolute boss!
good luck to Chuck and the gang at Barbs B Q...you have a great attitude and skills to make Barbs B Q on the Texas Monthly list in no time...✌♥
Man she said she wanted her own restaurant and here she is! Girl Power!!!👍🏾👏🏾💜
Hitting up Barbs this weekend...LETSSS GOOOO!! 👍
I love this place. Been twice and I cannot wait to make my next trip to Lockhart. Super great people. The green spaghetti is killer but the turkey really stole the show last time I was there.
Love watching vid like this it helps reminds me why i wanted to work the food industry.. 😊❤
Chuck's prominence in Texas BBQ is something very special.
Love this! Great work Chuck and team!!
WOW her dynamic with the different elements, tools, intricacies. so awesome.
I've had my mouth water but never my eyes watering looking at brisket. I'm buying a plane ticket
Passion...heart...and soul. Authentic to the bone.
Chuck is such a fitting name for a BBQ master
What an amazing lady to have that passion, ambtiion and achievment at such a young age. She has a bright future.
Chuck is AWESOME!!!! 👍👍👍
I love when people are passionate about what they do. It's my dream to open a pizzeria and serve the community and have a local spot for people to enjoy with their loved ones.
I saw that goldees stick smoker and immediately connected the dots that she was previously there as their pitmaster. So stoked for her!
ANOTHER must-stop joint in Lockhart?!! Oh my - ! And her roasted poblano sauce - three or four ain't gonna last long as more folks discover Barb's.
One good rule: see menu-items you don't recognize? GET THAT ONE.
That young lady is the reason the restaurant is doing so well. Works hard, pays attention to detail, wants to learn, and is happy with what she is doing. Congratulations to her.
Chuck seems so chill! Hope her place kills it!!
Serious labor of love. The food looks fantastic!
All I had seen of Chuck was over on Goldees and Jirbys channels. After visiting Goldees, I was amazed.
To watch this and learn that Chuck is from the Valley made me damn proud! That’s awesome Chuck, I’ll be up there soon to try some Barbs. Keep representing Brownsville (956 lol), and I wish you the best of luck on this journey.

I once seasoned a table and ended up in the middle of a hot Texas summer. But seriously, even though I seasoned it well, it was still a tough going.
The menu looks really delicious and unique from typical barbecue fare. Gonna try making green spagh at home! I wish them the biggest success.
She's adorable!! You can see the love and passion for what she does. I am sure it will come through in her food. I wish them the greatest amount of success.
Something about working at a restaurant when your younger shapes you in a awesome way
The ways she describes her cooking process. It’s seems like decades of experience. Great job on her venture.
I remember her from alvin's video and in the end she said about opening her own joint
So excited for her. She's on an arc to be the best ever.
This young lady deserves all the success. You can see her passion and drive.
I cant wait to come visit - I love the influences that are original not copies! Congrats on YOUR place.
Every dish looks incredible! Wishing her and the team great success.
I remember her from the Goldees BBQ video as well, So amazing to see her reaching for the stars! I cant wait to go there!
At the 12 minute mark I thought the PBS Frontline theme was coming on lol. I was like “Oh Sheet, it’s getting serious!” Waited for the drums to drop!
All I can say is "WOW". Nice to see your passion and skill. Can't wait to try your 'que. Thanks for sharing.
I noticed the spark in Alvin Zhou's video. She just had that certain aura around her. It's great to see that she followed through on her plans and that everything is working out well. It's also nice that she seems to have some support from Goldee's, or those familiar smokers surely wouldn't be in her place now. Good luck Chuck, and all the best from The Netherlands.
Barb's looks amazing! Chuck certainly has passion for the craft. It's tough to sit here in the SF Bay area and watch all these great vids on Texas BBQ...I need to plan a trip!
This young lady is so humble and she is extremely talented. God bless her and her staff. Now I want to drive to Lockhart for some delicious BBQ.
WOW!! Clearly an extremely talented chef with wonderful and unique ideas about BBQ!
I'm mexican and I'm so jealous of that spicy brisket, espagueti verde and chocolate abuelita pudding
Awesome.😀. Next time in Lockhart, definitely going to check it out. Everything I saw looked awesome. Go get ‘em GIRL.👍
Just came here last weekend. Her and her whole team was so nice. The food was worth the travel and wait. 👍
She is such a Gift. I love her and her beautiful personality.🫶🏽
I can't imagine trimming that many briskets. Two is enough for me!
The BBQ looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I need to make a trip up there! AND you're from my hometown of Brownsville!!! RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!
I love seeing my people do well.💪🏾
OMG! This looks aaaaaamazing! 🤩
15:19 "A little bit of butter" 😂
Love seeing the hard work of this young women congratulations on your BBQ can't wait to try it 😋
There's little doubts why she is where she is. Shes worked at the largest successful BBQ joints in America and all over the world. Hard work and dedication....and you become the best.
Thanks to Millscale for suggesting this place to me over spring break. Very good BBQ and a must try, wait it sucks (that way I can get another round). FYI I went in on a Saturday at 12:30p and got the last 1/4lb of brisket.
Looks good!! Coming down from Dallas to try!!
