@@masonx54 cuz I told My caretaker if I give you a Christmas card idk if it would be a good idea to get your address and send it to you but what do you think
Mason this is a great Video thanks. I Shared what I have in my Backpack to hopefully help other people because I found out that it is better to always have everything you need with you when you go anywhere because something can happen to me at any time and you need it. For me I have had to take my Care Supplies with me to go anywhere but there are other things that you need with that like a charger and Straws and things like that because most places you go do not have that there when you need it.
@masonx54 You do a lot to help people including me Mason so I will always comment and like your Videos if it is something that happens to me and hopefully I can help someone else.
Hey Mason! Your video was spot on! Thks! I carry wet wipes, chucks(pads), allen wrenches, an oxygen tank wrench to use on portable tanks, emergency sugar treats for diabetic emergencies, bathroom hygiene tool, and flashlight. MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄
Those first twenty years, water, keys, music/ earphones, money, and a dog. After going electric, mostly the same throughout my working.years, and then some extras like a lockblade knife, Sak, Camelback bottles, pwc tools, small flashlight, folded coathanger, toothbrush, keys, phone, music, and cards with a rubberband. Another bag is loaded for the unlikely but maybe occasions, Take a look at.a couple of products for wheelchairs by JanSport. Heavy duty backpacks and personal carry with multiple attachment features. Catch them on sale as several colors get discounted. A shorter quadtool might likely replace my coathanger! You look Great, Mason. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I was wondering what the coat hanger was for. I thought you had it in case you locked your keys in your vehicle. Lol Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@masonx54Two quads I met in AZ shared the hanger idea. Pretty good company when you drop certain things. A wire hanger is getting hard to find! My wife replaced ours w plastic hangers for more rigid support and ease in the closet.
I have some advice related to this topic. I've left behind and lost a few backpacks in public areas a few times in my life. A couple of them contained expensive valuables unfortunately. It would always happen the same exact way. I'd wear it on my back and then remove it right before sitting down on a bench with a back rest especially if there were sharp items in the bag that would dig in to my back. I'd place it on the ground nearby or on the bench to my side.Well a few of those times, when it came time to get up off the bench and get going, I forgot about the bags, left them there, and lost them forever. A solution is to wear the bag on your front side. It might be incorrect or a bit less comfortable, but you won't have the need to remove the bag off of yourself when you get the urge to sit on a bench.
Yeah, you could wear the backpack on your back and then only wear it on your front side when you sit down on the bench. Thank you for watching and commenting!
G’day Mason, heartwarming seeing you living your life and making the most of it. ❤ I sustained a spinal cord injury nearly 40 years ago which resulted in paraplegia. How life has changed for wheelchair users over the years. I remember a time when there were no accessible toilets, paths, buildings or parking spaces. Life certainly is easier now. Xx take it easy, love Trace from Down Under
I sustained my first spinal cord injury in 1983 when nothing was accessible . ‘Accessibility' wasn’t even a term. You just made due with what you had if you wanted to get something done. The younger generation who whine and complain about not having an accessible bathroom are almost comical. However, I have gotten some really good tips from Mason...particularly push handles in tight spaces.
@Morgancalvi6675 I hear you my friend. It is a different world now. We had to forge our own way and “jump up and down’ when we really wanted something. I served on govt and private committees attempting to make change. It took a long time yet things are getting better here in Australia. The fight now for access is left to the young! Take it easy mate, good to connect with another old wheelie 🥰🙏🏻 xx
@@WakeUpToYourself-237 it melts my heart to see someone who struggled, found a way to persevere...and wants to share it with others. He would have done just fine in the days when accessibility wasn’t a thing.
Very interesting Mason. I like the tools and grabbers you carry. Due to many health issues I don't get out as much as I used to. I just carry a cane with me, helps me to open some doors and keeps unwanted animals and people away.
Since I use my power chair twice a week for volunteering and I'm at probably the biggest senior activity center in the county, I bring my charger with me in case I need it and my poncho that covers both me and the power chair in the rain :)
@@masonx54 yeah in the past and the staff is understanding about it. Luckily, I've sometimes been able to get home before needing to charge it depending on when I get picked up by the transportation company. Although, I sometimes get nervous when I see the battery icon blinking at me when I start to head home. I also have a phone charger that plugs into the joystick, but don't use it very much anymore because it's easily breakable if you try hard enough and it drains the power chair battery faster
C6/C7 incomplete quad with a neuro-degenerative element. In my back pack, I carry plastic shopping bags and hygiene items, a small toolkit for my chair, change of underwear, socks and spare jogging pants, wound care/ first aid kit, power bank and charging cable, spare wheelchair gloves (I have haffa hands- at least haffa the time, I can only use about haffa each hand), and a set of super heavy duty wrist braces that are basically wrist and forearm splints for when my wrists/ hands go supernova. I keep adding stuff as my condition progresses.
What do you mean by neuro element?? I'm less than a year into complete c7. Last few weeks have gotten bad as far as neuro logical problems but my doctors don't seem to know squat
YOOO Brotha Mase, Happy SUnday to ya. Man you're way more advanced than I am when it comes to items in your bag. I have a small ADIDAS side bag that holds my wallet, cellphone, latex gloves, 2 condom caths, Scissors, and a Nesquik Chocolate milk bottle to swerve as my piss bottle. But I'm going to look into your collapsible urianal The might be a better idea. I also have a bag that I hang to my WC when I travel. And this includes a couple diapers, gloves, condom caths and clothes for travel.
I wouldn't consider my bag to be advanced, but it is compared to your items. Haha Yeah, I thought of a collapsible urinal and was surprised it existed when I looked it up. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I expected someone would ask this question. Haha If I have a UTI, for example, I will leak even 30 minutes after catheterizing. The leaking comes on quickly and the urinal is quickly accessible, and if I used a catheter each time I was about to leak, I would use up all my catheters. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Yes, I always keep the items in my backpack unless I am using them and always have my backpack on my wheelchair unless I am using it. Thank you for watching and commenting!
What do you carry in your backpack? 🤔

I use a dressing stick in place of a cane sometimes. There are often buttons you need to push and I use it for that.
