I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

I agree the spring clamps are better than worm clamps. Allows for the expansion and contractions from heat and cooling on the rubber hoses. ✌🏻
Thanks so much, you just did my life easier, 👌
Hope it helps! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. I'm replacing my water pump and AC Delco says the thermostat (131-160) is a 190-degree thermostat, but the gauge reads 210. Interesting that they're off by that much!
Thats about right. The thermostat starts opening at 190° and isnt fully oppened till about 210°
Will low oil as the manual say give a false reading on a thermostat?
My needle won’t move and the cooling fan stays blowing
Sounds more like a coolant temperature sensor issue. Possibly a fan or fan relay issue as well but could just be the coolant temperature sensor.
Thank you!
Hi. How do you tell that the sensor taken out was bad
Theres ways to test them. You can google that and itll show you a few answers.
What were the systems you were having.... i just did a radiator and now mine struggles to even hit 210 even after flashing the system... the gauge will drop some while driving but it mainly stays at about 185-190 on the gauge
This is a clients car. I believe he was figting overheating issues.
Do you have an oem thermostat? Some thermostats are designed to open at a lower temp.
@MegaMilesBen not sure... it was running at 210 until I replaced the radiator... the temp gauge will drop to around 190-185 while driving
@shaunmoeller3288 that could just be the new radiator moving more air through the fins. How much debris was in the old ones fins?
@MegaMilesBen not sure didn't really look
@shaunmoeller3288 as long as youre not running cold or hot, I wouldnt worry much about it. Its probably got more air flow going through the fins now.
