I went to Spain for two weeks and basically every dish there includes olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I swear to you when I got back to the U.S. my skin had never looked better and everyone was complimenting it saying it cleared up!
Fungal acne really is such a stubborn skin condition. I had my first round of it a few years ago and it took up to 6 months to clear up because I ignored my diet. This time around I'm seeing the rash fade away quicker now that I'm being more mindful of my gut and eating more anti-inflammatory foods. I tried as many topical treatments as I could think of (different AHAs, acne treatments like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, clay masks, physical exfoliants, retinoids, the infamous nizoral shampoo mask ect.) and when all of them showed no improvement I did some research and focusing on improving my gut health. Which is already beginning to clear up my face. I hadn't thought about omitting yeasty products until it was mentioned. At first I just cut out excessively processed foods (including most yeast products, excessive sugars, saturated fats) and that only helped a bit, but when I started incorporating more whole grains and antioxidant rich foods - I noticed the bumps faded a bit more. I think you're onto something! Hoping more people can save their skin from the inside out rather than wishing on a topical treatment solely. I look forward to trying out the foods you suggested (especially the bone broth!). The snack recommendations are especially helpful, I love that they are more mindful option to satisfying a craving. It's easy to eat healthy, but snack healthy? Still struggling (but after this video, a little less).
@@thebeautifulone5593 Hello! Since my goal is "fixing my gut", I make sure that each all three meals are omitting processed food and incorporating anti-inflammatory foods. I also take Probiotics, fish oil (omega 3s to balance out the omega 6s) twice a day, and try to drink a low-sugar kombucha for an extra boost of probiotics and antioxidants. Sleep is another aspect to consider. It's difficult to manage a sleep schedule, but I notice improvement in my skin on the weeks I somehow managed to operate according to a natural 24-hr circadian rhythm rather than a non-24hr style of sleeping. Diet changes and skincare would be 2/3 of the equation. Sleep is remaining quantity! Best of wishes to you (+ your gut and skin!)
I love the snack recommendations as well. But thankfully i don't like munching on things, i'd rather snack on some honey and sesame seed covered almonds/ 70 percent and above dark chocolate or if i'm craving salt then some chili and salt peanuts. thanks to these lovely ladies I've been trying to change my diet and not giving into every craving that i have.
Yes yes yes! I’ve been watching so many videos on fungal acne recently because I’ve had normal bacterial acne for the longest, and I’ve found the perfect routine for it. However, I’ve recently had a huge breakout with skin-colored bumps ALL over my face!! As a makeup lover, I was devastated. I found out it was fungal acne, which is why my old routine wasn’t working. You guys are life savers 🙏

I love you guys and you guys always have very informative videos, but I just wanted to clarify that PUFAs shouldn't be grouped as bad. They definitely are not as stable as MUFAs, but they're still important for the diet and can offer a lot of benefits as long as they are extracted correctly. I would just recommend storing them in the refrigerator. Examples of important PUFAs are omega 3's and omega 6's :) Also wanted to mention that coconut oil is very comedogenic for most people, so if you have a lot of acne and coconut oil is in your skin care products or routine, try taking it out of the regimen and see what happens.

@@smallcatbigmeow I'm not exactly sure what I used that helped, but I think it was my cleanser. These are the only 15+ minute-long videos that I stick through till the end and without fast forwarding. Always so informative, esp without any useless filler talk. Thank you! I'm 22 and that acne still hasn't gone. You're right, gut health is the biggest contributor to skin quality, and I realise that. Bone broth looks like an excellent solution but, I am vegetarian. What's the nearest equivalent? Also, what's the take on apple cider vinegar?
Not only in terms of skin health, but gut health can also affect overall inflammation in the body. A friend of mine developed red, inflamed, swollen joints last year, along with an unexplained rash that covered her entire arm, as well as heart symptoms (initially thought she was having a heart attack), & extreme fatigue. After tons of testing, it was determined that she had leaky gut syndrome. She had already been eating gluten-free for a while due to sensitivity, but further dietary changes were required. She cannot drink anything cold, all fruits & veggies must be thoroughly cooked (nothing raw), no diary, no tap water (only filtered), & the list goes on. Once she started adhering to the dietary changes, the rash disappeared & the joint swelling improved. She still has chronic fatigue & body pain, but it is better than before the change in diet. She obviously has autoimmune issues, but her gut health has played a major role in addressing those problems.

The coconut oil thing. Here in South India, most of the people use coconut oil for cooking. Coconut in entirety is used widely here n we are glad we are doing it😁❤️ Also we consume a lot of ginger and garlic by adding it to almost all the dishes we make including pickles where we add garlic .
I’m so happy you made this video!!! I’ve had fungal acne for years now, cured it last year but then it came back...I’ve already slowly started changing my diet so hopefully it goes away for good soon😤
All these food recommendations apply to USA food standards. Esp with reference to processing and GMO. Those of us who aren't in the USA need to check what applies in our countries as well as work for us personally
I have been trying to eat really healthy lately and my skin has been looking a lot better and feeling better (I have eczema). I was also exercising more so I felt pretty good. But two weeks ago I had Jack in the Box for pretty much 3 days straight because I was too tired to make food for my lunches for work and decided to sleep instead (I also have depression so that was a thing that week). Anyway, my skin and hair were both pretty awesome before that Jack in the Box thing and a few days later my skin is breaking out and my hair feels really dry. I don't know if any of these tips have anything to do with hair, I'm just mentioning it. And it's been about a week now since my face started breaking out and it's still happening. I've started eating fairly healthy again so I hope it all goes away soon. I'm really glad I found this video though. I'm learning a lot about food I never knew had this kind of effect on my skin.
You know, it's perfectly okay to treat yourself with the foods you like on some days, and eat healthy on other days. Now that you know what works for your skin and body, you can make more mindful choices! As for your hair, we found that collagen peptides might be able to help your hair look thick and luscious (it's also good for your skin and nails) but it might also help to make a hair masque using coconut oil to help hydrate (just make sure to not let the oil touch your face though). Hope this helps and good luck, hun!
I started breaking out on my lower cheek and mouth area. My skincare has helped but doesn't go away completely :( I read about Face Mapping and says it could be caused for intestinal issues, constipation, etc. And yes, I have some, so it makes sense. I'm more picky now about what I eat and my life style.
If it helps, we're definitely suggesting not being picky about what you eat. The moment you start cutting out foods (that you're use to eating) immediately, your body might react and intensify the cravings (and maybe not function properly). It's moreso of being mindful of the current foods you're eating and figuring out ways to introduce new foods so that in time, you can start transitioning to eating those new foods instead of what you used to eat. Let things run naturally and have fun with experimenting! Also you can totally do cheat days and allow yourself to snack on something you like (cause you deserve it!). Hope this helps and good luck! 😘😘
Love you guys for all of the research and dedication you guys do to bring us proper information to help us along with our journeys because obviously everyone has a different one. I feel I have been suffering from hormonal acne because it’s always basically based around my jaw/jaw line areas and I am a picky eater it’s hard for me to eat anything because I have been a picky eater since I was little and that’s never changed. So while I do like to eat salads and different things I also love meat and hearty meals so I don’t really know what all really I can do to eat things that are more healthy because I don’t like things cooked certain ways and it’s horrible I wish I was not so picky I don’t know how to get out of it.😬❤️
It's definitely a different journey with everyone! For your situation, it might help to slowly start incorporating new foods one at a time to help you become adjusted and used to the flavor, taste, temperature, and texture. Stick to that new food for a week or so (however long it might take you to feel used to the food) and then try another. I think what's super important in the long run is the mindset, because trying new things can be a really scary experience (it really is!) but once you get over the hurdle, you can discover so many things you never thought you'd like! Hope this helps, hun! We'll wish you all the luck! 😘😘
Some studies have shown that coconut oil has the highest cholesterol, which is very bad for the heart. I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, so I'm actually not sure what is true though.
coconut oil should not be consumed too often because it is still saturated oil. Also, when you deep fried, no matter what oil you use, it will become trans fat edit: moderation is the key when it comes to nutrition. there is no one magical super food.
Actually, the fact that it is a saturated fat isn't really a big deal. But all things should be consumed in moderation, nonetheless. As for the last statement on trans fat, it would depend on the temperature and exposure time of the oil to the heat. In the case of coconut oil though, coconut oil is ~90% saturated fat (fun fact, it's higher in saturated fat than animal fat!) and ~10% unsaturated, so only that 10% could ever become trans fat.
I'm surprised that nothing was mentioned about the benefits of grapeseed oil, particularly for high-heat cooking like stir-fry, sautéing, & deep frying due to high smoke point. It is high in vitamin E (antioxidant) & is non-GMO, & made from the seeds of wine grapes. I'd always heard it was a healthier option, but maybe the omega-6 levels are what call it into question. Did a quick Google, & looks like it is under debate depending on how it's used & how often.
People with cholesterol issues definitely shouldn't over-consume saturated fats. But what's crazy is research is pointing to high cholesterol (the reason we've labeled saturated fat as the devil for so long) actually being due to a genetic component and not based on the foods you consume. Or at least not entirely based on the foods.
@@megs86-i2k, this is true. When my husband's father & his father's identical twin both died within a year of each other (both at an early age) & both had advanced heart disease, my husband & his sister were advised to get cholesterol checks, as the doctors felt there was a genetic component. Sure enough, my husband was diagnosed with high cholesterol at age 31. He tried dietary changes with insignificant results, so his primary care doctor put him on Lipitor. His body just produces more cholesterol than normal. His doc said she'd rather get it under control with a statin than him being on the operating table in a decade with bypass surgery due to the damage already done to his arteries. He joined a bicycle club & does lots of cycling, so his medication requirement is now minimal. I have another friend with the same issue, plus she has high triglycerides. She's thin as a rail & you'd never know by looking at her that she has such issues.
@@jas8437 You are right. Moderation is the real key! oil or fat itself should be consumed with moderation. I think the general rule is to go with unsaturated fat, less saturated fat and avoid trans fat.
Love this type of video! I have gut problems and candida and it is helpful to know that it comes from the inside! I find it difficult to cut out yeast (bread) but i need too! Please make more diet videos x - Morgan From Australia
It actually depends on the person! For dry skin types, coconut oil is pretty much safe since it's thick and nourishing enough. But generally coconut oil can be very pore clogging especially for oily and acne-prone skin types. Glad to hear it works out for you!
In my case, sufficient non sweetened yoghurt and cut sugars intake will help me avoiding acne, if you can calm down your acne already and want to level up your skin condition into luminous skin, add turmeric into your diet
I'd love to take a look at the supporting evidence for GMOs being harmful for the body. Any scientifically-backed sources/studies are much appreciated!!
Lauric acid is found in coconut oil & promotes the growth of fungal acne, so if you don't use it topically but ingest it through food consumption, will it promote the growth of fungal acne as well?
So true. We need to think about the whole body and eating raw all the time can be too cold for people that need heat! And vice versa, too much turmeric and warm foods aren't necessarily good for people that already have too much heat and inflammation! All about Balance!
I'm considering doing research because I have been fighting acne for over 10 years and lost my faith in dermatologists. I plan to do hormonal tests: 17-OPH, DHEAS, androstendione, SHBG, testosterone, prolactin, LH, FSH, fT4, TSH. I also think about examining insulin and cortisol. And I read that with acne it is also worth doing research on food intolerances IGG dependent and iGA. And also tinder and helicobacter pyroles. I'm afraid that all these tests will cost a lot. Is it worth all of them? My acne is mainly on the chin, neck and cheeks. I do not eat dairy and sugar.

I broke out all over my forehead in stubborn small-medium bumps recently like never before and while I admit my diet isn’t clean at all I also haven’t changed anything other than starting to take probiotics these few weeks. I have this pimple that turned into a small bump on my nose but its been there for almost a year now do you guys know how to get rid of it. PLZ THANK YOU :3
Oh Snap You should go get an acne facial, and have the esthetician look at it. I actually had a really good facial yesterday, and there was this one tiny pimple that had been there forever. I mentioned it to her, and she extracted it. It was very painful and gross; she said it was really hard and looked like a grain of rice. Don’t try it at home though. You need a professional to do it, or you can damage you skin and leave a large hole.
I love your channel a lot but I worry about some of the facts you share about diet sometimes and I feel like it could be helpful to do some further research. Olive oil is great for a lot of reasons but it doesn’t have a balanced omega 3:6 ratio, it’s closer to 10:1 (much higher in 6s).
This is all amazing! except for the fact that my family mostly cooks food of my culture(indian food) which has tons of oil and such. I can't really buy for myself :( I have many other things that may stop me for starting on a diet.

Beauty Within thank you so much! I will at least try things little by little! ❤️
I need more videos about healthy eating habits for beautiful skin!! Guys, if you agree like it for the girls to see it💗
So pretty ladiesss!! And theire skin is so beautiful!!~♡♡♡

Some studies have shown that coconut oil has the highest cholesterol, which is very bad for the heart. I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, so I'm actually not sure what is true though.
Susan Lew not sure where you’re getting that info since cholesterol is produced by animals and coconuts are plants... maybe you mean saturated fat
coconut oil should not be consumed too often because it is still saturated oil. Also, when you deep fried, no matter what oil you use, it will become trans fat
edit: moderation is the key when it comes to nutrition. there is no one magical super food.
I was told that coconut oil isn't good for your skin so I white using it as a makeup remover! Glad to know it's okay!
Totally unrelated: those yellow matching outfits 😍😍😍!! Love u dynamic duo, thx for educating us 🤗
I'd love to take a look at the supporting evidence for GMOs being harmful for the body. Any scientifically-backed sources/studies are much appreciated!!
Loving the monochromatic lewks 🌞🌻
Lauric acid is found in coconut oil & promotes the growth of fungal acne, so if you don't use it topically but ingest it through food consumption, will it promote the growth of fungal acne as well?
In europe a good olive oil to get is Hojiblanca. It comes from Spain, which is the best place for olives and oliveoil
So true. We need to think about the whole body and eating raw all the time can be too cold for people that need heat! And vice versa, too much turmeric and warm foods aren't necessarily good for people that already have too much heat and inflammation! All about Balance!
Exactly! It's all about balancing out everything that brings optimal health in your skin and body 😉😉
Please do what I eat in a day to clear my skin
This is awesome, soo much good information in that 25min video. Please make more of these :)
Omg. That "No" cup is SO CUTE!
your yellow outfits are so cute! thanks for the advice as always! you guys are awesome!
Thank you for being the answer to all of my prayers 💕
Do a video on eyelashes/eyebrows! I never know what ingredients I really need on that type of hair.
Xtra virgin olive oil every night.

I found it so funny when I saw the Finlandia butter, because I'm from Finland, and growing up my mom only ever allowed butter in our house (this still applies) 😂 I'm 26 now and I myself only use butter. Thanks mom ❤️
omg rowena your outfit is super adorable i want ittt😍
can you make a video on fungal acne but with products?
It would be really fun for us to pick what colours you should match on next videos 😊😊
You guys are so cute 💕 I love watching your videos, it really helps me stay positive while dealing with acne.

I broke out all over my forehead in stubborn small-medium bumps recently like never before and while I admit my diet isn’t clean at all I also haven’t changed anything other than starting to take probiotics these few weeks. I have heard others saying probiotics/kombucha can cause breakouts but has anyone experienced the same and did it pass? I want to be able to enjoy the benefits of probiotics!
blackbirdflyyx when you introduce new products to your body, be prepared for a purge period. It will hopefully pass soon
I have this pimple that turned into a small bump on my nose but its been there for almost a year now do you guys know how to get rid of it. PLZ THANK YOU :3
Me tooooo. I gave pimples that don't go away
@@noriixa Oooo ok I will try that thank yous. But will it leave a scar if they remove it?
Oh Snap it won’t bc they know how to extract correctly
@@noriixa sounds like it was a millium, they'll never disappear without extraction
This is so helpful! Many thanks from a young high school student 💗💗
Thanks a million you two are blessed. Great advice for so many young people . god bless you,
Gut health, I'm always rubbing it. Probiotics was the biggest life saviour and digestive enzymes!
DollTron VR
Which probiotics do you take? Or do you just eat probiotic foods?
@@jocelyn_andrea jamieson, 10 billion
DollTron VR
What benefits did you get from taking it?
@@jocelyn_andrea I suggest you do your research.
@@jocelyn_andrea it should help to improve your gut bacteria. Clean out toxins.
This is all amazing! except for the fact that my family mostly cooks food of my culture(indian food) which has tons of oil and such. I can't really buy for myself :( I have many other things that may stop me for starting on a diet.
Super informative! Thank you lovely ladies!!!!
Can you guys do a whole video on your story’s like how you got through eczema or acne so people can relate
I'm drinking black tea from now on!
Hopefully not too late so you can sleep! heheh, although some people don't feel any affects of caffeine and can go straight to bed after tea or coffee hahha 😛- fel
Beauty Within ❤️
What about butter being dairy? Does it still affect the body the same way as dairy?
Very good video thank you for all the information : )
You guys are really awesome! I've been watching your videos for months and by learning tips for taking of my skin, my face is actually clear.

This channel has been my fav ever since it existed. Even though the content is fab as usual but i miss Mia. I mean, where is she??? She’s the one who started this. And now, she’s nowhere to found.😞

We're definitely going to be doing a video all about these ingredients and tell you guys the real story because there's so much confusion out there so we totally get it! Thanks so much for the suggestion! 💞- fel
Love you guys!! Where is Mia though?! Miss her
Mia's still here! She's just in Australia so it's a little harder to film, but definitely still part of the team! Sorry you need see her as often! 😔- fel
I don't know if you guys know how to handle acne that is caused by endometriosis. If you do, you should totally make a video about it!
You guys helped me so much!!!! I love you!!!
