✨ HELLO FRIENDS! ✨ If you guys have any questions please let me know! I know how stressful moving can be and any advice I can give I will. Biggest tip: ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS! Point out the little things. Here are some of the questions I ask when apartment shopping. - What’s included in the rent price? - How much is parking? - Is there parking? - Is the application fee refundable? - When applying do I need to pay for deposit at the same time? - Is the deposit refundable if application is not accepted/approved? - How long can I hold the apartment? - What are the specials? - What are the main complaints you hear from residents? GOOD LUCK! 🎉
The trick is when looking for a apartment go with the buildings with the smallest of units listed 4, 6 or 8 units and no amenities. The rent should be a lot less and those units are usually bigger in size. And also, look for a location with cheaper rent. Silver lake, eagle rock. Those are still by the downtown area.
@@tumeliasmiles: A lot of natives have gone elsewhere unless they’ve settled into rent-controlled units years ago or inherited or purchased property when it was still reasonable. The demographics and culture have changed so much. L.A. has gotten crowded and much more urban; another reason many natives have gone. The population has increased 58% in my lifetime. I remember when Glendale was almost like the countryside and people in Compton, Watts, Pasadena, Altadena, and lots of other areas kept horses and livestock in their backyards. When we lived in the Ocean Park area of Santa Monica, our daycare center had ducks, geese, chickens, and goats. The staff let me take a goat home over the Christmas break. We later moved to L.A.’s west side where our school had farm animals, including a mule. I mostly grew up adjacent to where the Our Gang shorts were filmed. Those movies, if you haven’t seen them, will give you a glimpse into how recently L.A. became truly urbanized. There was still a lot of undeveloped land when I was growing up that’s gone now. High rise apartments were non-existent.
First time adding a comment on a youtube post! 🎉 I loved your video! Is there any way I can get the dets for the last apt? I saw your ig tag and dm'd you there 🥰 Thanks girl! ♥️
Thanks for sharing! Do you have the name of the LA apartment you toured at the end? I'm interested in taking a look as i'll be looking soon. (Unless its where you currently live.)

I lived in Pasadena for a couple of years several years back and really enjoyed the neighborhood…
@@carableu Pasadena is gorgeous! It’s just further away from school and more expensive from what I seen. ):
@@tumeliasmiles The prices have gone up so much since I lived there! All the best in school and your new place! 🌸
@@carableu thank you! I hope life treats you well also! 🫶🏾
