Don't take this the bad way, but for a person who's willing to compromise a lot of things to fit in a budget, you do nitpick a lot. And the saddest part is with the amount of complaining you're doing, i really thought you'd actually end up with a place that checks all the boxes. I'm sorry for pointing this out. I tried not to but couldn't.
I just think it's the reality of apartment hunting in LA! Compromise was more out of necessity rather than being happy with it-beggars can't be choosers-but my feelings are what they are. If I'm being honest I also thought I was going to find a place that checks all the boxes but 16+ apartment tours later it seemed my hopes were unrealistic. This was my first time apartment hunting after all so I didn't have a great grasp of reality. Ultimately I'm glad we found a place that's good value wise! I'm actually pretty happy about it now that the stress of moving is over. May not be perfect but at least I don't feel angry overpaying something that isn't worth it :)
If yall were willing to commute a tiny bit more ya should’ve looked at the South Bay, I’m moving into a house feeling apartment (front unit with no neighbors to the front, top, sides or under. Only behind) three bedroom, two bathroom, in unit washer and dryer, large patio and semi private backyard (meters in backyard but no other units have access) with a private garage. All for $2,800
THIS SOUNDS SOO NICE!!! unfortunately my roommates were hard no on commuting further especially since we know how bad LA traffic can get 😭 I also ended up getting a job up north from that area so from South Bay it's 20 miles which can take up to 90 minutes with that morning traffic :*) I'm so happy for you tho that sounds so nice!! I would like never leave home lol
Just mentioned since it could be an accessibility issue! We never know if we'll get injured one day or if we will have people visit that would need that elevator. also it was a consideration for moving since I might've needed to hire someone/arrange w a friend to help me move stuff in

If you’re spending 1.5K+ with roommates in an apartment, you’d obviously want to get the most value. An elevator isn’t a crazy ask… you don’t know her or her roommates’ situations. Try to be more sensible…
The thing about the first apartments they are fixer uppers kinda like buying a “project car” If you can negotiate a lower rent price for the flaws and then put money into it however you’re not working but when I say put money into it I mean cleaning products and fixing little things 😊 as a man I’d be up for the challenge but I do understand you all are ladies and just want a place with zero flaws
