lol i tried not to be too picky with my budget, but i’m just trying to figure out why some of these places thought it was okay to have showings with bugs everywhere?!
Okay, I’m going to give you grace since you said you were from NJ AND I’m ONLY 4:22 minutes in. Now, I was born & raised in LA. So, when I’m hearing your price point and the needs/ wants I’m saying out loud “do you mean LA the City or LA County?” Hahaha. Because, baby, LA, you definitely wasn’t going to get those needs under 1400. Most of my family still lives in LA, Compton and Inglewood and their apartments are small even the houses in Compton on Peach street, smh. Anyway, let me keep watching.
Okay I finished. GIRL!!! My mouth stayed dropped on some of those places. That one that had the laundry in the basement, first thing came to mind was the R$pe word. I’d NEVER do my laundry in any of those places. And another thing, a lot of people will live in any of those places. 🤷🏾♀️
I'm glad I moved out of K-town. Lived there for a year and my experience was meh. Apartment quality is so low and the work done on it are so cheap, you can tell just by the overspray of paint on the knobs, hinges, etc. Almost all cheap spots don't even offer dedicated parking. Now live around the nicer part of Lakewood/Long Beach area and the peace of mind I get is so much better plus I get a dedicated gated parking spot. $1664 for a 500sq/ft studio w/ a great layout. If you love the city life, then I guess you gotta work hard to make it happen. Glad you found a spot though.
Yeah, K-town was tough. I actually considered Long Beach, but this area turned out to be the most convenient at the time. I may have to reconsider outside of the city next time I move, so it’s good to know you get more for your money in that area. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve almost always lived in a house in Los Angeles (with family). When I finally moved out, I had to move to van nuys to find a reasonable price ($1200 in 2021). It was cute, but a very small 1 bdrm and it had roaches. I moved back home after breaking my lease the 9th or 10th month. I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the roaches, but it turned out that my neighbors and another unit never let them spray for roaches. I was grossed out. I’m traumatized. Afraid to get another place. I’m a nurse now, but idk if I can move to an apartment.
i’m such an east coast girly, that i’m definitely going to say nyc over cali, lol, but honestly it depends on your vibe and what you want out of the city. if you can, visit both places bc they’re both so different! cali is more chill, warm weather, a lot of driving, beaches, slightly more space & nyc is the complete opposite. i think it’s really going to depend on the lifestyle you want and your interests. i used to visit cali and absolutely want to live there, but now that i do, i prefer visiting than being here daily 😅 as a creative, specifically in fashion, i find nyc more freeing and real, whereas LA specifically feels like there’s more of a façade (not talking about the locals). so really just think about your wants & needs from a city and what would better align with you! hope this helps xx
Not even a stove? For 1400? I guess you was supposed to eat t.v dinners😂 is it up to code to have an apartment without a full kitchen? Maybe it's an L.A thing
LMAOO trust me, i was thinking the same thing 😭 hand sanitizer was on deck & i definitely did a detox when i got back home before touching anything lol
lmaoo i didn’t know it was near the cecil 😩 i just took the tour bc i didn’t want to go back outside even though i told the leasing agent it was going to be a no before she showed me the
Apartments in la for $1600 that’s safe, clean and with in unit washer and dryer lmaoooo that made me laugh because that’s literally unheard of 😂
I have one. $1500. All that and backyard. It happens!
@@1Shawol416 how did you find it? Did you get lucky and find a rent controlled place?
Apt. 3 was just disrespectful on so many levels its giving ny efficiency we remodeled a super 8 thats what it was giving super 8
3 had me soooo mad 🥴 LA apartments are notttt it when you tryna ball on a budget
I'm CRYING at your reactions. I've been in LA for seven years and it exactly like this, rooting through the garbage until you get lucky
dang, i was hoping it got better 😭
@@sademahogany nope, unless you're rich!
I love how you arent super picky but bugs are a deal breaker i don't blame you

@sademahogany right I was looking at apartments today and was checking cabinets because of you lol
lmaoooo 😭 i will never not check now. good luck on the apartment hunt!
A lot of times they won’t clean it until it’s rented. So it’s not that strange that they’re dirty. And usually I will clean it before move in anyway…
I’m surprised you even found a studio in la for $1450 even tho it looked like a lil motel 😩

@LayLay31035 LOL yeah some of those places were crazy. had to go above my budget to get something decent 😩 but it was worth it

Yeah. I don't want to pay 1500 in rent. I might just buy a studio condo an pay the same for my mortgage. At least my property taxes are a wright off.
@@NovaDollyou have to have money for a condo tho
@@seismic6435 there are condos die 200-300k. It’s not big. But fine enough.
@NovaDoll that still requires a decent down payment to have a reasonable mortgage.
I wasnt aware they made apartments wothout kitchens
the amount of apartments i saw listed without a kitchen or bathroom should be illegal!!!!!
Good luck 👍🏽 with the wishlist in LA 😳
hahaha yeah it was difficult 😅

understandable!!! the roach problem freaks me out & has me paranoid af 😫
great content. i am now dizzy and need to lay down from the moving camera.
oops 😵💫😵💫
Babe if you can handle heat just come to Houston, it’s super diverse here! There is great pricing too
i don’t mind the heat, but idk if i’m a southern girl 😫 i’m from the northeast and really missing nyc
You need to look for turn key apartments
That first one looked like there was a roach on the floor?? 3:13
bruh they all had roaches if i’m being honest 🥴
Building 9 looks alright! What area was it in?
I’m so confused. Why would you have to pay them to buy your own refrigerator. Those tiny kitchens are sad. I’d be embarrassed to show them.
that’s what i’m saying! these landlords are out here scamming
California housing law states that refrigerators are not considered required amenities to include. So you will find a lot of apartments without them.
My dream is to settle down in cali one day. But gurl im confused between cali & nyc/nj... wt do you suggest? 😅 (ps. Im not from the US)

My OCD was trippin HARD with some (most??) of those places. I was thinking “Why is she touching stuff w/o gloves on?!? 😂😂

🤣🤣🤣
Baby Girl. You will eventually need a car. LA is not public transit friendly.
lol yeah ik, but unfortunately this intern pay isn’t going to cover it. it’s the first thing on my list once i get a permanent position
@sademahogany I feel you. And ofc you gotta factor in auto insurance which isn't cheap either.
@jeff200614 exactlyyyyy. all in due time
Also LEARN how to drive in LA. It’s very different.
8 was racist
that’s what it was giving…
❤❤❤❤
all of these look like a horror show
Why would you even consider apt. 7 one we already black n 2 yeah no for you ended up like that asian girl
