@@LoganSamuelVideos thank you! Have you already went apartment shopping or are you about to go shopping? I hope you have fun looking at all types of places when you go! (:
Hey first time watcher! How did you fly with such a big dog? I'm trying to move similar to you and I'm curious how you moved everything from before to your new apartment? How did you fly to LA with your pets? How many suitcases did you travel with? Do you have a car? did you get it shipped out? are you using a rental car currently? Sorry for so many questions I'm just extremely curious about your move because it reflects my life so well.
Hey! It’s no problem! I flew with Alaska airlines which allows pets. You have to get a health certificate within 14 days of traveling with your pet. It cost around $100 for each pet and you have to get to the airport at least 1.5 before your flight (at least with Alaska airlines, I’m sure it differs per airline so be sure to look up their specific regulations online.) I shipped my car through a reliable car shipping place which was around $3K and packed up my car with some of my household goods. It took about 3 weeks for me to get it and I did get a rental car which I paid a lot more than I should have for. I think it came out to around $2K with the insurances. Be sure to research whoever you want to ship your car through because there are scammers out there! I used Alaska Auto Transport. I also shipped some of my stuff ahead of time through FedEx which came to around another $700 I think. A lot of my big furniture (couch, desk, bed, etc.) I sold and bought newer and cheaper for my new place since it was a lot smaller from where I was moving from. Also, when I flew, I flew with my partner and we took 2 pieces of luggage each and filled that up with more smaller items. I sold all my old pet stuff and bought all new when I got here. I was able to do this move because I planned ahead and saved A LOT of money cause I knew it would be an expensive move. So just be sure that you have enough savings for emergencies and 1st/deposit/last month’s rent, estimated cost for new furniture, etc. I was also moving from HELLA FAR AWAY so your cost might be cheaper or more depending on where you are moving from. I hope this helps and I wish you luck with your move! 💛
