It would be so helpful if you could make a Brandon Sanderson video guide or something. He has so many books out there and it's very hard to keep up with all of them. Loved this video Emily!

Brandon Sanderson has a post called the state of the Sanderson that if you scroll to the end (or read all of it if you want to) tells you what he plans to release on what years. And if you're talking about the cosmere and stuff, I find you don't really have to read one cosmere story to understand the other. Unless it's part of a series.

FYI, according to Brandon Sanderson’s yearly newsletter thing, he’s hoping to write The Lost Metal next year in between working on the fourth Stormlight Archive book, for publication in 2020/21. I checked specifically because I was hoping the same thing you were. I’m still holding out hope Scythe book 3 will be out next year, though, even though we don’t have a date yet.

We Are the Ants ripped my heart out of my chest, so yeah, I bought SDH's other books and preordered The Past and other Things that should stay buried, too. There's also Brave Face, coming out next year.
    I've also preordered:
    - Five Midnights, by Ann Davila Cardinal, sounds like a YA paranormal (?) thriller about a portorican monster
    - Girls with Sharp Sticks, by Suzanne Young, which sounds like a girl fighting a misogynist dystopia, maybe?
    - Slayer, by Kiersten White, because I love everything Buffy and it's in the same universe
    - A Girl called Shameless, by Laura Steven, sequel to The Exact Opposite of Okay
    - On the come up, by Angie Thomas (I loved The Hate U Give)
    - Meat Market, by Juno Dawson, a YA contemporary about abuse in the fashion industry, I think?
And I'm keeping an eye on The Raven's Tale, by Cat Winters (Edgar Poe retelling, I think), Ninth House (sounds so great), How it feels to float, by Helena Fox (YA contemporary about grief), Last Bus to Everland, by Sophie Cameron (I really liked Out of the Blue), Sherwood, by Meagan Spooner (a Robinhood retelling where Marianne becomes Robinhood), and Death Prefers Blondes, by Caleb Roehrig (YA mystery).

Didn't know about lots of these! Will add MgGinnis, Swanson (Very nervous here), Neuvel and Malerman to my list!

BookswithEmilyFox I’m still nervous to read Swanson’s latest book tbh! Also quite nervous for malermans new one since I found Mad Black Wheel to be complete garbage, haha but let’s hope for the best 🤞

The more I watch you more I think we are twins LOL We have the same unpopular opnions and it's great to find someone that doesn't like romance. The ending part of Children of Blood and Bone was so boring with all that romance. Hope next book the author stay focused in the fantasy. Merry Christmas, from Brazil!

The more you talk about him, the more I want to read some Brandon Sanderson but he’s an intimidating author to me because I don’t know where to start! Any recommendations?

      Warbreaker is my go-to recommendation.
It's one book, it's great and you can even find the PDF for free on his website :)

I can't believe my doctor said it would be unethical to place me in a medically induced coma until Emily's 2019 year's end lists. I guess I'll just go back down to the basement until my parents tell me it's time eat.

Well on the bright side, there are a few more excited videos coming like my wrap up for my 2018 big book challenge. There's also a video coming for my 2019 reading challenge and also my top 19 books to read in 2019...
Might want to wait a bit before that coma ;)

Just because a book is adult doesn’t mean everyone won’t be matched up. I have read many tha way. I am really tired of how booktubers always think adult books are superior. I have read many that are trash

    • @BookswithEmilyFox
      @BookswithEmilyFox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

That's not what I said at all. I said it's a common trope in YA books and it is. I've never said adult books are superior and yes plenty are trash. Let's not put words in my mouth.

I know that lots of people love Brandon Sanderson. I read the first book in the mistborn trilogy, but then i read some things about him as a person and i cant support someone who's so homophobic and discriminates so much. Its a pity cause he's a really good writer. But i cant support him.
