The longest book I ever read was Stephen King's IT. I wanted to read it before the film came out, but left it really late, so had to read over 1100 pages in less than a week! In the end, I finished it literally minutes before leaving for the cinema!
I did that once. Though it was a much shorter book. I read Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Cristie because I like her mysteries and the new movie had come out. I read it in about a day. Closed the book and asked my sister if she wanted to go see a movie with me that same night. I've also watched the first 2 Thor movies in a day before leaving for the theater to see Thor Ragnarok with 30 mins to spare before the movie started.

I'm planning on starting the year with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, because I'm 90% sure I will LOVE it! Becoming, NOS4A2 and The Final Empire are what I'd like to get to. I'm thinking about reading one Mistborn book every month instead of binging them. I'd like to read The Passage, but I'm not a fan of vampires, so I'll wait for your thoughts. And well The Final Empire & Nos4a2 are both over 500 pages long so... The rest will depend on my mood.
Hey Emily. How are you doing? I was sorry to hear in your last video that you were sick, but it looks like you are getting better, so I am glad. I have not read any of those books but a few of them are definitely on my tbr pile. I know what you mean about getting more books from your library, because I have a special audio library for the blind where volunteers will come over and read out loud a book word for word and then I have a special app that I use to listen to and download them. I use that and audible a great deal. Right now, I am working on listening to the 3rd book in the Crown of Stars series, the Burning Stone by Kate Elliott and when I need a change, the Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I will let you know my review later on.
I'm at about 50% of Skyward and I'm amazed how different it is from his other books. That and his speed of writing new books makes me sure that he's some kind of superhuman. :D
I already read Becoming and I didn't expect to love it that much. I finished it in two days and this book became one of my most favourite in 2018 (maybe of all times). I don't like autobiographies or memoirs but I'm happy I gave this one a chance. Hope you like it too :)

So far, I just started reading Martin's Fire & Blood, then I'm going to attempt to read We Need to Talk About Kevin. I'm on the second half of Trollope's The Way We Live Now, and I'd like to finish that. Then maybe read Lin Manuel Miranda's book on Hamilton. For January Empress by Ruby Lal, Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela, Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Skyward by Brandon Sanderdson, The Name if the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Guns Germs and Steel ny Jared Diamond, and perhaps more if school and several of these big books don't fry my brain first.
I've realized that I have a ~slight~ fear of fantasy books. I'm always worried I won't be able to keep track of/follow the magic system so I am always hesitant to try (especially if I listen on audiobook!) However, I decided that I need to stop being scared and try some of these hyped books!! I think I might try Vicious because the plot sounds incredible!!
I keep getting the audio book for The Passage from my library but never finish it, but what I have read I loved. Definite a bit of a King vibe to it. I would definitely be interested in reading Skyward and Greysister with your goodreads group!

"The Passage" actually surprised me, in a good way, maybe because in the past I didn't have good experience with vampire books; I wasn't a big fan of the audio book or maybe I just wanted to read from a physical book, I don't know 😅 but a good book. "Vengeful" is also on my TBR 📖 -EmilyAndTheReadingBuddies- name suggestion.
I loved the passage, the sequel is fantastic too but I just can’t get through the third instalment. Also maybe the big book club or big book buddies as the group name? Have loved the end of the year videos Emily 😊

I am currently reading Kingdom of Ash and Rebecca respectively so one of those I think can be done this year and the other which is like 1000 pages will be my first one of the new year. My next three after those are the clockmaker's daughter, record of a spaceborn few and the poppy war respectively. All the books I have on this month's TBR are exciting to use your "buzz" word so I think this month will also be a superb reading month if my current list is any indication! My library doesn't have the passage as a book copy so I may see if I can pick it up from our local bookstore as the premise sounds amazing!
I'm also planning to finish the Broken Earth trilogy in January! To be honest, though, I'm going to be so sad because I'll be caught up on Jemisin's books.

I feel like your English gets better with every video. I would love to see a video with you speaking in French first and then English. I love to hear French, to me it’s the most beautiful langue. I took 4 college semesters of it, but have lost a lot. Beautiful sweater by the way! I want to read The Passage

The Passage is a good pick for January because there is a TV series coming out soon based on the book.

So far, I just started reading Martin's Fire & Blood, then I'm going to attempt to read We Need to Talk About Kevin. I'm on the second half of Trollope's The Way We Live Now, and I'd like to finish that. Then maybe read Lin Manuel Miranda's book on Hamilton. Hopefully be able to finish Katherine Arden's trilogy this month as well. After that, we'll see. You'll love The Passage I think, and it was Salem's Lot you thought dealt with witches
I'm so happy I found your channel! I think you are one of the few booktubers that have so much diversity in her reading - both in authors and titles. I always see the same books being suggested around booktube but you always have something different! If you do a goodread group count me in, I would love to read books with you ^^
Oh, I'm so thrilled, you'll be reading The Passage! :) It's one of my favorites books of all time. The story is amazing, vampires are creepy as they should be, a plot is full of twists and characters are amazing. I just love the whole trilogy, but the first book is truly my favorite. I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

I hope you'll enjoy Dostoevsky." Crime and punishment" was the only book majority of students have read when we've been studying it in school. And you inspired me to read this year his books that I still haven't read.
The only book I've read on your TBR is Becoming. I also went the audiobook route. That is a crazy long waiting list. I really enjoyed it - it was one of my favorite memoirs I've read this year! :)

Skyward is going to be a 4 book series according to Sanderson's website. I read Skyward this month and it put me out of my reading slump, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

I read Dance of Thieves and loved it! There's quite a bit of tense romance in it so hopefully you won't mind too much 😆

For January Empress by Ruby Lal, Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela, Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Skyward by Brandon Sanderdson, The Name if the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Guns Germs and Steel ny Jared Diamond, and perhaps more if school and several of these big books don't fry my brain first.
I've realized that I have a ~slight~ fear of fantasy books. I'm always worried I won't be able to keep track of/follow the magic system so I am always hesitant to try (especially if I listen on audiobook!) However, I decided that I need to stop being scared and try some of these hyped books!! I think I might try Vicious because the plot sounds incredible!!
Also, my tbr for the month is only Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire, I hope I finally read them!
I keep getting the audio book for The Passage from my library but never finish it, but what I have read I loved. Definite a bit of a King vibe to it.

This sounds like the most amazing TBR! A lot of those I actually want to read. For me, I’ll be finishing War Storm by Victoria Aveyard and The Stand by Stephen King. I think for that one I’ll have to find the audio book and finish it that way. I’m just having a hard time picking it back up again. Good luck with your reads!

I'm going through Bird Box right now. One of my biggest goals this year is to read the Wheel of Time series
I think I want to be a bit Radical this year and go out of my comfort zone when it comes to books. Maybe read som sci-if. It would be really fun to join the little club and read books I’d never read. Perhaps I’ll like it. I’m a bit tired of YA tbh (thank u for influencing my reading taste a bit!)

"The Passage" actually surprised me, in a good way, maybe because in the past I didn't have good experience with vampire books; I wasn't a big fan of the audio book or maybe I just wanted to read from a physical book, I don't know 😅 but a good book.

The only problem with putting the big book part in the title of the group is that we won't be able to use it long term as just a book club. I want to be able to use it for any readalong! :)

I am currently reading Kingdom of Ash and Rebecca respectively so one of those I think can be done this year and the other which is like 1000 pages will be my first one of the new year. My next three after those are the clockmaker's daughter, record of a spaceborn few and the poppy war respectively. All the books I have on this month's TBR are exciting to use your "buzz" word so I think this month will also be a superb reading month if my current list is any indication! My library doesn't have the passage as a book copy so I may see if I can pick it up from our local bookstore as the premise sounds amazing!
