My favorite wave 6 track is SNES Bowser Castle 3 because it's the only good SNES Bowser Castle and fun fact Troy, it was the first ever retro custom track I saw in your videos when I watched RTCT 1 for the first time. SNES Bowser Castle 3 is also my favorite SNES track since it has a good layout, length, and has a good level of difficulty I feel like. Happy to see it make it in another game outside the GBA once more.

FUNKY KONG IS FINALLY BACK!!!! Literally EVERYTHING included in the final Wave had a TWD98% chance of returning to the Nintendo franchise by the name of Mario Kart! What a wonderful way to end booster course pass! All of us know, love, and recognize every proportion of every retro track that made their return to to the final Wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from start to finish in the blink of an eye!

I'm from Madrid, and I can tell Nintendo did an excellent job with the execution of Madrid Drive. It has the biggest amount of sites on a city track of all. Then the soundtrack's a banner. Also the layout is one of the most complex ones out of the other city tracks, like Amsterdam, Singapore and Rome; Sp because Madrid has you driving through the sites and not just siteseeing them on the distance.
Love how the stadium in the track I s the new Santiago Bernabeu
Would have liked to see Rio De Janeiro as a city track. Totally insane we never got any city tracks based on South or Latin America. And I had my fingers crossed for Wario Coliseum as a retro.
There was also nothing from Africa. Would’ve loved to see Cairo, Marrakesh, or Nairobi
@@rollingcoasters1581 I wish Tour's content updates lasted for a little longer so we could see something from those parts of the world. I love Rome Avanti and Madrid Drive, but I think it would have been better to have something other than the SIXTH and SEVENTH European cities.... -_-

Mayro proved that you can do the gap jump in Rosalina's Ice World, you just have to take a much larger angle. Unfortunately there isn't an invisible wall at the top of the half pipe, so you're just thrown into and as such it might not be that useful. However with some practice, you might be able to make it work and save some time.
shortcat used smart steering to not go flying off, so yeah it can be faster
nah I made it landing on the main road. you just need to hold an orange drift off the slope
3:58 DK Mountain’s gap jump shortcut STILL works to perfection in its return from its original glory! 20 years of Double Dash and its fitting physics have multiplied over and over and over again!

I wouldn't exactly say the Double Dash physics have been multiplied over and over again, considering how slippery the original game was.
Still, it's nice to have the shortcut not be as easy as wii. There, you could basically just drive off, and you'd be fine even with little speed.
19:32 - They even brough back the " catch fire from from fast falling" effect when you fall of the track in wii rainbow road
All the tracks in wave 6 are incredible. The “worst” one is Daisy circuit but even that is in the top half of the tracks in the game
Toad's Factory got snubbed and instead they put in arguably the worst track from the Wii version.

@@LiamDeege Bruh, Daisy Circuit is miles better than the Mario and Luigi Circuits. Plus, Toad Factory never had a chance to come to the BCP since it never appeared in Tour
If we were gonna put another Wii track from Tour, ruins was there. But oh well, circuit isn’t a bad track by any means, we can’t have everything, and the music goes crazy anyway lol
Peachette is such a wasted character slot. Not saying she is bad but they could have made something new!
19:48 Wii Rainbow 🌈 Road, GCN DK Mountain, and SNES BC3 are literally the exact same top three tracks that are my favorites in the final Wave just like you, Troy! Nintendo just keeps on NAILING EVERYTHING with all the love, support, and desire we have for the tracks, the Kongs, and the remakes! AWESOME VIBES!!!!

Nah man you forget that waves 1, 2 and 5 we're quite lackluster in terms of graphics and "love". But still good overall
I thought Wii rainbow road was a bit underwhelming, but SNES BC3 and DK mountain more than made up for it

11:03 I was depressed to hear that Dry Dry Ruins never made its return…it really would’ve been super cool to trick off of more areas of the track if it were to be remade and added to the final Wave!
I can agree that it would've looked good, even though I have high levels of PTSD from that track in the original.
The one upside to tracks that didn't get into the BCP is that it means they're very likely to get fully remade as new retros in the next Mario Kart game, so there's that at least

This is by far not only the best wave, also the most incredible one too. Diddy and Funky were the highlights for me as is DK Mountain and Wii Rainbow Road. It was an amazing journey through MK8DX and I'll never forget these amazing last two years.

The wave is excellent, but being the last wave, it would be even better if the Spiny Cup didn't have any tracks from Mario Kart Tour and in the characters, instead of the weak Peachette, there was Kirby!
The whole sense of that DLC was to bring the Tour tracks over to MK8...
To be fair, Peachette was a bonus character that we weren't promised. I don't get the hate for her.
For the rosalina ice world cut, you can kinda do it by using the slope, drifting and hopping to jump over the gap. If you do it right, you can go flyyyying into the abyss and it’s funny.

I realised that on Wii Rainbow Road, instead of Lakitu catching you when you fall, he lets you drop down and then saves you referencing how it is in MkWii
City Track: I’m shocked Nintendo never made an Egypt track. The original app art has pyramids in the background so thought it was gonna happen.
Retro Track: Feel like Airship Fortress was a huge missed opportunity. Either that or Wario Colosseum.
Yo I just wanna say I’ve been absolutely loving your content recently specifically the wii knockout stuff your energy and enthusiasm is infectious and it’s inspired me to see if I can get into mkwii thank you
SNES Bowser Castle 3 felt necessary in a poetic way because the mario kart series has always had this weird hate with the SNES tracks, like before this they never got overhauls like this and in general just felt like they were kicking and groaning every time they put one in a game. Base 8 only had 1 SNES track. This felt like an apology for this and an amazing reimagining.
I don't understand how people weren't hyped for SNES Bowser's Castle, I was so glad to see it and it definitely doesn't disappoint. It feels super smooth and the music is great
Personally i find most snes courses pretty boring. What they did with bowser castle was absolutely lit tough

Dude the music is so fire for some of these tracks! I would have liked to see Miami as a Track and DS Luigi's Mansion would have been great.
It’s just crazy to me that this game is finally coming to an end after 9 and a half years!!! I still can’t believe it. In terms of characters and courses this Wave might be the best one yet; DK Mountain, Wii Rainbow Road and SNES Bowser Castle 3 are my top 3 for this wave in that order. The only complaints I have is that they nerfed 200cc and Mirror from showing up online (again) and they completely eliminated bagging strats :(
Edit: not sure what city I would have liked to see them make a track out of, but I would have LOVED to see Dry Dry Ruins or Wario Colosseum brought back. The former is just such a great track, it was in Tour, I really thought we were gonna get it, and the latter just seems like such an obvious pick for a game with antigravity, I’m genuinely surprised they didn’t add it at any point during the BCP.
It’s about time…games is soooo tired…just to make us wait for switch 2 launch Game for Mario kart ten
For a city I wish they made Houston Texas, and for retro either DS Bowser Castle, or DS Rainbow Road

I think the only track from MKWii that I really wanted in the game that didn't get in is Toad's Factory and BCWii. Literally they got every track every remake that's high priority. I'm super impressed and happy
Amsterdam's map has the Rijksmuseum, Rome has the Colosseum, Paris has Arc and so much more. I love the city maps

these city maps are beautiful. beautifully designed. i personally think they feel more like a need for speed race than a mario kart race
The anti-gravity works so well on Wii Rainbow Road, and I love all the additional shortcuts and whatnot. Kinda sad albeit understandable that you can't do moon jump anymore though lol

Whilst I am happy Funky made it in... i am quite disappointed we got YET ANOTHER clone instead of another original character like Hammer Bro, Monty or HELL Honey Queen would've been better than Peachette... WHY PEACHETTE???

Ive been watching too much of ur 999cc so everytime i go out the cannon on dk mountain im always nose diving to not clip out of bounds
I also accidentally discovered the star jump short cut next to the items and boosters with Funky
Its a small detail but i love how on Wii Rainbow Road you catch on fire if you fall off the course. No other course does that
That's because Wii Rainbow Road is located in the Earth's atmosphere as this is an effect when you are falling in the planet thanks to it's gravity.

Rio De Janeiro would have made itself as a track. And then it’s gotta be Dry Dry Ruins- the mechanics woulda been PERFECT for this game, we know from DK Summit that those tight half-pipe cuts work, so the temple section would have been the same as in Wii.
I still can’t believe they removed bagging (no that’s not a joke, you can check the patch notes) and made 200CC less common online again, but otherwise a great wave

Peachette -> Daisy / Peach / Yoshi / Birdo
I would argue that the only reason Funky has a fanbase is because of how broken he was in mkwii. That and the flamerunner combo.
I love how Lakitu waits a couple seconds on Wii Rainbow Road, just so Nintendo can give us the fanservice we all wanted of our characters catching fire as they fall lol. Nice touch!

I would have loved to see a track based on my city, Milano, but I gotta say it's still really cool having an Italian city track in the game. Also talking about Madrid I think it's incredibly cool that they included the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. And you can even go inside. Amazing.
City Track - Can't think of one honestly.
Retro Track - Wario Stadium (N64) and make it so that you can't jump over the walls. Also keep it 3 laps.
I would love to see an Egypt themed track. I know there are already a lot of desert themed courses. But it would be cool to see a proper Sphinx, the Pyramids, and the Nile. A Shanghai course would be sick too
Rosalina's Ice World is my favorite track in Booster Course Pass Wave 6.

I was personally most excited for SNES Bowser's Castle 3 myself, just based on the footage that showed it got a rework. It really doesn't matter which track we're talking about; if it got the Mario Kart 8 treatment, I'm gonna be stoked, and not a lot of the retros got the Mario Kart 8 treatment in the Booster Course Pass (which is why I'm glad 3DS Rainbow Road, already my all time favorite, did).
I still can’t believe how much this dlc has changed his love for Mario Kart 8 deluxe
San Francisco would have been so fun! The steep, winding roads, gliding over rows of Victorian houses, avoiding homeless shy guys in the street . . . the possibilities are endless.
Mario Kart Wii came out when I was 2 years and I've been playing it since I was around 3. Not just seeing MKWii Rainbow Road but hearing that remade song legitmately gave me goosebumps. So happy to see one of, if not my favorite Mario Kart tracks return in it's full glory

Im from Madrid, and I never expected my city to be here, and thr level of detail just makes me so happy, between the stadium and the city center with the Retiro park, just, chefs kiss
I was absolutely floored when they brought back DK mountain, it's my single favorite course in the entire series, and for the longest time I was certain it wouldn't be in 8, so actually seeing it is absolutely wild
The Madrid track looks gorgeous. Including one of the most famous soccer stadiums in the world, the Santiago Bernabeu is the highlight of the track this wave is crazy fun
The reason Nintendo calls the blue shell the spiny shell is because it's a blue version of a spiny. I also like how Nintendo kept the iconic fall animation in Wii Rainbow Road.

They did an impressive work on BC3, it's the one I'm the most interest in. The part when you go up on the lava river is so cool
Toad's Factory, a reworked Airship Fortress, or Dino Dino Jungle, or even Banshee Boardwalk would've all been cool.

If they did add another city track or brand new track in general, it would have to be one themed around Las Vegas or a casino themed track. Driving on the Las Vegas Strip into a casino or drifting around a giant roulette wheel would be so much fun. As for retros Dry Dry Ruins would be my top choice but I really wanted another Bowser’s Castle. I’m more than happy with what we got already though and the developers did a great job
I'm so happy that Nintendo finally nerfed bagging. As someone who prefers to just go forward and finish the course as fast as possible, it's good to know that I won't be punished for actually playing the game as it was intended.
I had so much fun with this DLC! Already managed to get all of the CC's done. Love the new Courses, Characters, and Mii Suits! Thank you, Nintendo!!

It's a cool track and it's based off an unused DS track so I was disappointed it didn't make Wave 6
Shortcat found a pretty consistent way of doing the Rosalina's Ice World shortcut with a mushroom.
Pauline is absolutely cracked on that scooter. when I was doing the grand prix she was easily able to create a gap, without me doing snaking.

Everyone's boy is here 🥳 R.O.B. not being in the game sux compared to Peachette, especially since Link, Villager, Isabelle, and Inklings are not Mario characters, but I'd prefer Funky Kong over R.O.B. let's be honest. You said people would get annoyed with you taking time for short cuts, but I appreciate it and it's good for your viewers and for people who already know it makes it more entertaining to see your reactions so thank you for the treat.
As a Chicagoland native, a Chicago track with a lap on Lake Shore Drive would've been fantastic.
While GCN Rainbow Road would've been a nice nostalgia trip (as Double Dash was my first Mario Kart), I'd've loved to see GCN Wario Colisseum come back.
I'm playing mario kart with my young nieces at times(they got DLC jealousy recently], and they do often like the city tracks. Bathroom track also was a hit.
Exited to try the new Rainbow Road with them.
For me, I would have made a non city, city track based off of a popular event and location in my home state. The location is Pikes Peak and the event is the Pikes Peak Hill Climb where people race in cars up the mountain for 101 years this year and next year will be the 102nd Hill Climb. I would call a Mario Kart version of it Pikes Peak Turnpike.
As for a retro course, I would have to go with either Wuhu Loop or Maka Wuhu from Mario Kart 7, they also could have combined elements from both to make one track.
