I think I've encountered a hacker before In Mario Kart Wii back when I Had CTGP Revolution. But I don't Remember what day that was when I encountered one?
I raced against a MK8DX hacker only once before, on Mount Wario. They spawned in whatever items they wanted throughout the race, at any time. It was jarring to jump off the helicopter at the beginning and immediately hear the roulette sound lol. But hackers are quite rare in MK8DX so yeah
It looks like it's tied to his flag/name. Like, a character that he can type or a custom graphic that's just HUGE. The layering behind people ranking lower than him in races, it only happening when his name pops up. It's probably a custom graphic flag.
I thinks it's most probably the name. Every time he used that screen effect it was blank. I'd guess he can control the color of the smear by changing it in his name
i doubt it's a custom flag, what i thinks happening is his name is just *really* big all of his other hacks have to do with his name, he's likely just messing with that the whole time, and notice that his name is "blank" when its the red square
The hacker’s name at 20:44 translates to “The Tiananmen Square massacre and the Uyghur genocide are real”. I never expected to see something like this in a TWD98 video of all things lmao
Looks like the hack is related to the name tag. The screen goes red only when you can see their name tag and flag. Looking back will always show players' tags (as long as you are in front of them). When Troy was right behind the hacker his screen was red. When Troy was right in front of them and looked back his screen was red. Then when Troy was really far away from the hacker his screen was fine. And during the results screen when everyone's name tag was visible the red happened again. As noted in other comments, they also seem to have item hacks (or is really lucky). It doesn't seem to matter because the hacker still sometimes finishes towards the bottom. Probably uses hacks because they're not good at the game lol.
Yeah, it's definitely name tag related. I just started the Daisy Cruiser race (where hacker swapped from Wario to red Yoshi), and it's following him where the name tag would be. Someone else said it could be a giant character in his name, and I think in the colored text like at the start.
It looks like the hacker intentionally drove off far to the left to block TW’s whole screen, as if it also matters where exactly on the screen the name is
The obstructive red thing is probably an enormous character in his name, since it seems to be coming from his direction. I would guess it's a giant text character on display.
This is the correct answer. All of this "hacking" is just the guy putting invalid unicode characters into his name, and the game having a stroke trying to display them.

Eh Im guessing that the only reason why Nintendo WFC was shut down was because GameSpy was shutting down too but MK8DX doesn’t have too much hackers so that’s a good thing
my guess is that they found the internal endpoint that is used to set the username on a nintendo account, and they call this repeatedly to switch name & flags. it looks like players’ names are updated between races, not during races, which is why the name cannot rapidly change during a race. in addition, many text renderers have special characters added to them, that you can use to change the color, size, font, of text, or add in special untypeable characters. The ONLY hack used here is changing nintendo account information to include too many characters, special characters to change color and font-size (the gradient covering the screen is either text scaled up to large to cover the whole screen, or a very weird untypeable character), and to select flags that are not available in the user interface, but still have names and icons. this is revealing of some of nintendo’s security issues / mario kart internals! apparently mario kart has some of these special characters programmed in (although im not aware of any intentional uses of these outside of the “tilt controls” symbol), nintendo account information is modifiable even after creation (without limit), all of the limits on usernames (name length, which characters are allowed, which flags are allowed) are ONLY defined client-side, meaning a bad actor like this player can override this behavior if they send bad data directly to the server, and (although this is very minor) the render order of UI elements in mario kart is partially shown here, depending on which parts of the screen are covered or not by this hack! very cool.

my first youtube channel in 2008(?) was “MKWHackerTracker” and i uploaded videos of every single hacker i encountered online LOL. it was actually pretty fun especially when u ran into the “FTL” hackers that would help u win races and make it more fun
Not so rare. I come across them every weekend in tournament play. More than a dozen. What this person is doing is nothing. I see all sorts of wild things. Ist place player dropping bombs nonstop. Endless 3 red shells. Unlimited lightning bolts. Players earning 150 points for 1st instead of 15. I use to post videos on here but they'd always get taken down. 🙄
From what seems to be happening, the name tag is shown larger which means he's layered behind the bottom racers despite his actual higher position. This then allows the hacker to pull normally stronger items that are obtainable towards the botom of the pack, to which he then uses them for a greater catch up. I'm usually in for the usual rng online but having hackers is just a palm in the face.
@@roshi6516 No matter how low your position is or how far away you are from 1st, there's some item cooldown at times. This means only a select number of an item can be in play at once and/or appear for the first time. For example, for the first 30 seconds you can't obtain lightning or blue shells, even you are so far behind in last place, only once enough time has passed then they can finally be obtainable. Similarly
@@Thegamingwizard55 The layering doesn't change the built in timer for items. Someone using a similar code in mkw to always pull bloopers still won't be able to pull them for 15 seconds
I’ve played with this guy recently. His name is Quaashie and he’s been with the MK8D community for awhile, in fact we used to grind VR together a couple years back! He uses codes that are just cosmetic and don’t technically affect his gameplay at all, one that will randomize his flag and some sort of code to modify the color/size/length of his username.
It looks like the obstruction is activated by proximity to the hacker. The reigning theory of it being a modified character in his player tag makes a lot of sense.
There used to be loads of amazing hackers on mario kart DS,they could force the game to play tracks that werent supposed to be playable online or unfinished tracks and stuff.so much fun
I've seen hacking in the original Mario Kart 8 (mainly that on the second lap, the hacker would instantly complete the race) but I never thought I'd see it happen to 8 Deluxe. I've heard of hacking tools in Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 but most hackers generally play in private rooms to avoid bans which is interesting.
The screen obstruction is literally just a character in the name that isnt normally available in the text characters table. but because it does exist the game pulls it from out of bounds data, leaving you with this strange visual effect, which is a result from the text renderer trying to figure out what to do with the invalid character.
@@JMGDjacobweb well, i still love it, even though the underwater section removed the zappers, but if you don't like it, it's ok, we all have our own opinions 👍
I think I figured it out... they didn't have no name, they had a HUGE name. That's why the "blockage" only showed up with them on screen and the results screen. As for why it only worked sometimes... maybe if they set it too large then we only see the little space before the first letter? I think litterally all they could do with it was change their name with no restrictions Honestly pretty creative, wish they used that drive for something else though
I think the screen obstruction is based on how close you are and where you're camera's pointed. Every time you passed him and kept pushing into higher placements the screen clears up, whereas when you were right behind him your screen would get more obstructed
this is probably one of the best hackers I have ever seen, he doesn't abuse too much out of the things he can do (like spamming bullet bill or just infinite shock) he plays fair (so he doesn't always go for the win, or at least it seems). And overhaul is entertaining, 9/10 hacker. Could use more "spice", could do a little bit more chaos without abusing it too.
If I was a hacker, I would do 2 things. -entertain people (only met a single one, but they definitely got the traction. good for them... weird to say to a hacker) -cause chaos (what do you expect? it's hacks, gotta happen at some point) Using hacks to gain an advantage over others is disgusting.
It looks like he's using ANSI escape codes. It's actually a really old technique from back in the text terminal days where you can change your text color with special "escape" characters. If you didn't reset the color manually, it would stay that way. You could also change the background behind the text (which normally was black.) If you changed the background red and cleared the screen, the whole screen turned red. Not sure how he was able to implement ANSI codes in his name, but that's impressive.
ANSI codes are something that’s implemented by terminals, so I doubt mk8 would support those at all. I think it’s more likely that he’s either using a special character and/or the game is reading garbage data as font lettering.
My guess is that he is a kid who downloaded a mod to make his name tag "cooler" putting colors, exceding character limit and changing size and what happened is that he just set charater size to maximum and all you could see on his nametag was a huge letter that blocked half of the screen, he thought it was like super funny and left it that way, i dont know if he will get banned for that or no, but if he gets banned nintendo can literally block access to online services from his console, although I don't think that will happen, I would love to see his reaction when he tries to go online and gets the message "nintendo switch online services have been blocked for this console" and see how he desperately tries to change his account and profile but the message keeps popping up.
its his name, it only shows up when his name is visible. he somehow managed to turn his name into a huge orange block, there must be some kinda exploit to manipulate user names, thats all he did

I think that the red screen increases by a radius around him because it only happens when you’re near him. I think it also increases the closer you get to him. (Note: I’m an idiot sometimes so don’t take me for facts this is just what I think is happening)
I’ve played against Quaashie (the hacker) before in Regionals, never had this happen, but in the selection lobby his name was pretty big and in-game it was pretty small. He always had the flag of Greece too.
I literally was in a server with that same exact hacker a couple days ago!! They kept changing their name and country and their name was highlighted yellow too. They kept doing weird stuff and I knew immediately they were a hacker. I’m glad I’m not the only one who found this hacker! Love your video!
It's hard to tell if the cheater is using item hacks or not - the bullet into blue shell just looked like a smuggle from a shock dodge, but it could've been cheated. I'm going to assume innocence on that side just because if they're being this obvious with the name change cheat to obstruct people's view they'd probably also be way more obvious on other forms of hacking too if they were doing it. It feels more likely to me that either A - they only know how to change their name to add illegal characters like the red overlay thing that covers the whole screen or special colored text and modding anything else would get anti cheat detected and they'd get kicked and banned, or B - they can do other mods but they were just looking for actual races and wanted to show something mostly harmless to the rest of the room. Personally I think having a super long name is funny and distracting, but I'd never blame someone's name being long for giving them an unfair advantage from mere distraction. Covering half the screen whenever your tag displays on someone's screen, though, yeah, thats obviously at least slightly unfair. I do have to wonder what the limit is, though. Like, could you have your name be a whole paragraph, like a copypasta or something?
*Racing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.* Oh damn someones in front of me, theyre gonna win! Wait... what's their name...? Oh... Oh my god... no... Their name: My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone. *They then use their hacks to have infinite bob-ombs.*
That's my GOAT the texture hacking LEGEND this guy makes the legit most unhinged cursed mods and he's legit so good at what he does too. He's done stuff like make the entire road of MKS a animated image he's legit crazy. He's also an actual goofball hacker. Welcome to the Quaa experience
20:44 Their name in Chinese translates to “Tiananmen Square and Uyghur transmigration / genocide is real”. My guess is to why he picked that name is because discussion of those topics is forbidden in China, and will trigger the authorities to kick you off-line (affecting any Chinese player in the lobby).
This is came compared to the kinds of hackers I get on MK7. Bomb spam out of the gate. One of them even held up the entire race by spamming bombs in the narrow part of SNES Rainbow Road, preventing anyone from driving thcough.
I feel like it’s proximity based. It always seemed to flair when you were right next to him, and when he was behind you is when your rearview would be red too. Really scummy thing to do especially online, but I’m very intrigued by how it works. Great content as always, keep it up!!!
it looked like it had something to do with the hacker's in game name, since stuff like the giant red screen blocking thing showed up in the after race stats too.
I delt with one who fairly often on regional. At first I thought they were just insanely good until they started making it very obvious by using mushrooms and red shells before we ever got to the first set of boxes.
So is no one gonna talk about how the red shell just got obliterated by the air at 26:40 ? I mean, I get that it's probably just a boomerang but like, I don't see it
His hacks only affected the text of his name, not his performance. The long name in Chinese said, "The Tiananmen Square Massacre and Uyghur Genocide are real." Not defending hacking in a video game, but not everyone uses their skills to cheat.
I've had some hackers in MK8 on Wii U. One of them always finished first way before the others and all of them changed the items for everyone to be different than what you would normally get.
The only time I ever played a hacker in a game was in Smash Wii U when someone had the battle take place on the Trophy Rush stage. But it was basically just a normal match just on an unusual stage since the Trophy Rush stage is shaped similar to the stages normally seen on For Glory. But I have never seen anything like this where they use hacks to obstruct my view or disadvantage me or other players in some way.
Mario Kart Wii was FULL OF HACKERS! I remember me and my big brother playing online and this player with the balloon symbol suddenly appeared and used the shock... 10 TIMES IN ONE RACE! It was hilarious 😆
I remember seeing a few hackers on Mario Kart 7, but there was one I still remember. I joined a room using Yoshi on the Egg 1, the track that gets voted is Wuhu Island Loop (Wuhu Loop) and the race begins, whatever as soon as the word "GO" appears everyone in the room gets immediately slapped in the face with a never ending stream of lightning bolt spam by one dude who had no interest in winning the race but instead wanted to make everyone in the room suffer. I did manage to eventually make it of the starting gate but the lightning spam was so bad that everyone got kicked out the server. The lightning spam most've lasted for at least 20 minutes and I don't even think I make it through 1/5 of the track.
By the way, at 22:01 it isnt someone behind you stealing the item box, im pretty sure I can see a player with a boo right before you grab it, and seconds later we see someone coming back from the boo item.
I've played with Quaashie before. They use *cosmetic* mods, and like to modify their username to do a bunch of silly stuff. The screen blockade is likely a HUGE red character in their username just not being able to fit on the screen. You can see that it always comes from the right, and moves in relation to where their username tag is. They don't hack the items or modify gameplay online, but have also used texture/model/music mods that only they can see on their own screen. It's just that username mods can be seen by everyone. Even those who aren't modding the game themselves.
First, I´m so happy to see at the beginning a Dominican flag. Now, about the hacker, yes, i have encounter one, this happened on one of my friend´s streams, she opens a tournament every Saturday and everyone can join, the hacker joined and ruined the race, even by blocking them they could still enter the room, so we had to wait for a while and that killed the mood. First was the Chinese flag with a 20 characters name, then it was changing colors and covering the whole screen , but skill is always better than hacking.
I have never seen anything like this before! I feel so bad for you man! Hopefully, nintendo monitors this stuff and have a solution. Besides that, hopefully you enjoyed making this lol!
Troy do you think you’d enjoy doing a video going over your favorite shortcuts and how you do them? Like mushroom gorge gap cut, dk summit double cut, and the infamous bangkok rush and so on? I feel like that’d be really entertaining to watch
@TWD98 something similar has happend to me before on Mariokart 7 , Mariokart 7 is prone for hacking these days and it can get more serious than the hacking you experienced. On mariokart7 the hackers can change your vr , control your kart , freeze your game , put weapons in your inventory , Spam items , give you speed mods , gift you vr and a variety of other mods i haven't touched mariokart 7 online in years. its a dangerous place and you never know who could be a hacker these days and what they could be hiding. Mariokart 7 Patched the game from hacking at the start of 2023 and this came with a new update stating no hackers shouldn't be aloud online. But the hackers on Mariokart 7 found a way past it and are now more dangerous then ever. Also congrats on beating the hacker. To be honest this hacking did surprise me i dont see why people are putting there account at risk for no reason and trying to spoil peoples fun when they just want a good time.
I remember as a little kid when I played some Mario Kart Wii a few years ago on the internet on my Wii. One time I encountered a hacker and he was in Koopa Cape I totally remember that part during my childhood except I did not have footage of it because I wasn’t so used to recording back in the day. He was spawning lots of items and not racing that much having fun spawning so many items using cheats. I also remember seeing him at the end of the Koopa Cape Tunnel where you exit out from. Spawning some items there too! And that was the only time I encountered a Hacker in Mario Kart Wii's WiFi thing.
3DS Rainbow Road, Moonview Highway, and Koopa Cape are all the bomb imo. I also ran into hackers in a North America regional room. One was constantly changing his name to long twitch URLs, and the other was using some kind of picture to text for his system name. His name would block out the half of the screen whenever I was behind him trying to pass. They weren't using any item or speed hacks, just names. They were still very annoying though.
Also the second hacker had the same Mii as the one you faced, so he could also be using a VPN or a hacked game. Thanks Nintendo for not implementing a report feature in a multiplayer online game :D
I mean, we can’t complain since it’s free content… This has never happened to me before and I’m glad lol (Btw my fav BCP track is probably DK Summit or 3DS Rainbow Road!)
anyone's first reaction to a hacker is reporting them, troys, "it gives me content ^^" the only real hacker I've experienced is a guy that was on 99,999 vr and even when he came last and lost 30 vr the next race he was on 99,999 again
I think the hacking in question is only with the name. Like, changing it constantly, changing the color, and the giant screen covering color wall could be the name was well, maybe super sized so a letter could cover a portion of the screen
I play with that Brazilian Lim >_< all the time in regionals! Granted, as a Brazilian I play with the same 30 people basically every day I click Regional lol
Nintendo really does not like this kind of stuff, ruins the experience for players which in turn harms Nintendo. I am willing to bet there will be a patch for this in Wave 6. Online hacking/exploiting on Switch is also extremely risky because Nintendo bans on a software AND hardware ID level for both the system and the game card (if there is one), so they would need to get a new Switch and game to keep doing it, which would be prohibitively expensive in the long run. However, the easiest way to avoid this stuff right now is probably to keep your VR low (either lower it yourself or make a fresh user), and if you have high VR, then queue for regionals or tournaments. Also, just leaving lobbies will work as well, though that sucks if you are in a good room.
I remember in the Wii U era there was some hackers I would encounter in Mario kart using item hack and speed mods but in this game I never encountered a single hacker before 😅
Troy talking down on the first hacker he's ever played against in this game is honestly just sad and I don't think it's just the nostalgia that makes me think he wouldn't have acted like this back in the day or even just a couple years ago

It doesn't, in 8dx items are based on distance from 1st and have nothing to do with placement, or in this case, the layering of his name
@@roshi6516 It still changes their item frequencies to get more powerful items when relatively close behind 1st
This is the most elegant internet argument I’ve ever seen, very rare respectful internet convo
I find it too fitting he plays wario. Heard the voice line "Cheater!" And he's like, that's my main
Wait you created your account an hour ago?
any idea on why he does it?
In the server I was in, he had that name as well. Was it highlighted yellow for you too?
@@CandyGamingCG He did! Also did red and green and changed the size of his name as well.
@@thrift272 For fun I guess😭
It looks like the obstruction is activated by proximity to the hacker. The reigning theory of it being a modified character in his player tag makes a lot of sense.
There used to be loads of amazing hackers on mario kart DS,they could force the game to play tracks that werent supposed to be playable online or unfinished tracks and stuff.so much fun
For what it’s worth, I’m just happy you finished more times AHEAD of the cheater. Serves them right!
Lots of people have been saying this hack only affected his name and looking closely that is definitely the case
The screen obstruction is literally just a character in the name that isnt normally available in the text characters table. but because it does exist the game pulls it from out of bounds data, leaving you with this strange visual effect, which is a result from the text renderer trying to figure out what to do with the invalid character.
4:23 3ds rainbow road and koopa cape
2 of my favorite tracks that almost never get chosen
same
Honestly koopa cape is the wave 5 track that’s got chosen the most for me. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a good track though :)
@@JMGDjacobweb well, i still love it, even though the underwater section removed the zappers, but if you don't like it, it's ok, we all have our own opinions 👍
I love SNES Rainbow Road and Koopa Cape and they barely get chosen :(
I think I figured it out... they didn't have no name, they had a HUGE name. That's why the "blockage" only showed up with them on screen and the results screen. As for why it only worked sometimes... maybe if they set it too large then we only see the little space before the first letter? I think litterally all they could do with it was change their name with no restrictions
Honestly pretty creative, wish they used that drive for something else though
They changed their name a lot when it didn’t work was either the game not showing his name for some reason or he just didn’t use it for that round
34:34 has meme potential. Put a random image or video over the green section of the screen and watch hilarity ensue
I love hackers who just clown around instead of actually cheating.
I _will_ do that if I eventually get hacks. (which is never)
37:59 He’s ALREADY added, Troy! Our Mario Kart wishes came true!
He said he recorded this video before the wave 6 trailer
I just love how this man somehow finds the slightest bit of luck while playing MK8D. I can't imagine what that would be like.
I think the screen obstruction is based on how close you are and where you're camera's pointed. Every time you passed him and kept pushing into higher placements the screen clears up, whereas when you were right behind him your screen would get more obstructed
Yeah, it definitely looks like some sort of proximity effect.
this is probably one of the best hackers I have ever seen, he doesn't abuse too much out of the things he can do (like spamming bullet bill or just infinite shock) he plays fair (so he doesn't always go for the win, or at least it seems). And overhaul is entertaining, 9/10 hacker. Could use more "spice", could do a little bit more chaos without abusing it too.
If I was a hacker, I would do 2 things.
-entertain people (only met a single one, but they definitely got the traction. good for them... weird to say to a hacker)
-cause chaos (what do you expect? it's hacks, gotta happen at some point)
Using hacks to gain an advantage over others is disgusting.
It looks like he's using ANSI escape codes. It's actually a really old technique from back in the text terminal days where you can change your text color with special "escape" characters.
If you didn't reset the color manually, it would stay that way. You could also change the background behind the text (which normally was black.)
If you changed the background red and cleared the screen, the whole screen turned red.
Not sure how he was able to implement ANSI codes in his name, but that's impressive.
ANSI codes are something that’s implemented by terminals, so I doubt mk8 would support those at all. I think it’s more likely that he’s either using a special character and/or the game is reading garbage data as font lettering.
Also, little fun fact, some terminals actually have greater support for ansi color codes than others, supporting more than just the normal 8 colors
@@finadoggielook up “MSBT file format” it’s the file that mk8dx uses to store strings and bytes are documented on how they affect text strings
It's probably not ANSI specifically, but something similar.
@@renakunisaki true
I feel like the screen obstructing is part of his car, when he is left of you it gets more obstructed
its his name, it only shows up when his name is visible.
he somehow managed to turn his name into a huge orange block, there must be some kinda exploit to manipulate user names, thats all he did
You might be right indeed

Didn't Troy already collab with Hydreix or am I maybe thinking of someone else? 🤔

Wait you're here?
I think that the red screen increases by a radius around him because it only happens when you’re near him. I think it also increases the closer you get to him. (Note: I’m an idiot sometimes so don’t take me for facts this is just what I think is happening)
I’ve played against Quaashie (the hacker) before in Regionals, never had this happen, but in the selection lobby his name was pretty big and in-game it was pretty small. He always had the flag of Greece too.
I think the red mist might be tied to being close to him or something along those lines, it only really seems to appear when you're in a certain range
Moonview Highway is the best track to play online. Especially on 200cc
I literally was in a server with that same exact hacker a couple days ago!! They kept changing their name and country and their name was highlighted yellow too. They kept doing weird stuff and I knew immediately they were a hacker. I’m glad I’m not the only one who found this hacker! Love your video!
The green, white and green one is actually Nigeria. Well done Troy!
*Racing in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.*
Oh damn someones in front of me, theyre gonna win!
Wait... what's their name...?
That's my GOAT the texture hacking LEGEND
this guy makes the legit most unhinged cursed mods and he's legit so good at what he does too.
The proximity is probably just the game not loading names in the first place so it didnt effect him
it looked like it had something to do with the hacker's in game name, since stuff like the giant red screen blocking thing showed up in the after race stats too.
I delt with one who fairly often on regional. At first I thought they were just insanely good until they started making it very obvious by using mushrooms and red shells before we ever got to the first set of boxes.
Honestly impressed Troy knows his flags lol

@@willparrish8474he basically did, just wasn’t confident. I’d argue most people wouldn’t even think of Nigeria after seeing their flag
It’s definitely the hackers name that makes the screen change colors because it doesn’t happen when he’s not on screen

Imagine hacking and still not winning.
His hacks only affected the text of his name, not his performance.
The long name in Chinese said, "The Tiananmen Square Massacre and Uyghur Genocide are real."
Not defending hacking in a video game, but not everyone uses their skills to cheat.
Most Mario kart hackers don’t use the hacks to win, they use the hacks to make the race more chaotic for everyone else.
Thanks for making this video! I enjoyed watching it! I can't wait for the next one!

Yo! That hacker was too funny, never seen anything like it before.
I can agree hackers are getting dangerous these days they can really ruin your experience or put you off the game🥺
I’m encountered that Quaashie guy before in normal MK8. He always uses flags from random countries.
The hacker be like “That is but a taste of our fury! Do you yield?”
I've actually heard of Quaashie before. I think he might've been in some of Mankalor's videos (or someone else, don't know for sure)
Fun fact.
The blooper was easy to deal with in MKds due to the large overview on the bottom screen.
Here are 2 reasons why I'm not intrested in playing online when I get this game for Christmas. Lag and hackers
That dude straight up started speeding in the last race lol
That guy is blinding the screen using an odd character in his name

I met this guy too, his name was giant compared to the others, but he didn't do any other strange things
thats actually crazy the red screen of death was literal i thought it was just a bunch of red and green shells
squiky clean sprint for sure
I’ve seen hackers in Splatoon 1 and 2 before, but I ain’t never seen this kind of hacking before in MK8D
A Yoshi riding a Yoshi bike with azure rollers is the natural way to go. ;)
anyone's first reaction to a hacker is reporting them, troys, "it gives me content ^^"
the only real hacker I've experienced is a guy that was on 99,999 vr and even when he came last and lost 30 vr the next race he was on 99,999 again
Was it a Norwegian flag? If it is, I've seen him before.
I think the hacking in question is only with the name. Like, changing it constantly, changing the color, and the giant screen covering color wall could be the name was well, maybe super sized so a letter could cover a portion of the screen
=FLAG OF BELARUS,THO
=AND COME ON, THE DUDE DIDNT DO ANYTHING SERIOUS..........LIKE ENDLESS RED SHELLS OR SO.....
I remember in the Wii U era there was some hackers I would encounter in Mario kart using item hack and speed mods but in this game I never encountered a single hacker before 😅
Funny how Troy still says “click this video or Funky Kong won’t be added to Mario Kart 8 Duluxe” when he was already announced 😂

Troy talking down on the first hacker he's ever played against in this game is honestly just sad and I don't think it's just the nostalgia that makes me think he wouldn't have acted like this back in the day or even just a couple years ago
I like how he said funky kong won’t be added to Mario kart 8dx but I honestly don’t care and he has already been confirmed for MK8DX
