This is where I feel like I’m in over my head, all the videos of dog trainers do not have children. All I hear is watch the fog like a hawk and I also hear so much about consistency. I feel like a fool to think I can pad train an 10 week old puppy when I have 4 kids and a house to take care of.
You hear “puppy s are a lot of work” but nobody says how exactly until you have one then you’re like ohhh nooo 😅

The tips in all your videos have been very useful. I got a husky last week and I’ve built a lot of positive association with the crate during this week. He went from crying because I wasn’t right next to him, sleeping with him (even when he’s next to my bed), to today, where he settled easily, didn’t cry and just slept.
We are still working in daytime crate tho. He ignores absolutely everything he likes whenever he feels I’m no longer with him (even his beloved peanut butter). He howls and cries and barks his head off. Huskies puppies can go LOUD! But he went from crying non stop to crying for like half an hour to an hour. The dude can be exhausted, and cry anyways. But I can at least go to pee in peace now. Still working in at least taking a shower without him crying ;w;. He’s just obsessed with me, and although I love it, I don’t want him to have separation anxiety!

This is a really great video. This is the first time I’ve heard anyone address that you probably will have to use the crate before you have been able to fully “crate train” them to be comfortable with it. I e always wondered about this.

Any chance you could do some videos on raising two littermates at once? I love your videos and have already been using your advice but some of it I can't figure out how to convert for two dogs like you say don't force them in the crate, but with two of them if I let them roam in my room they just seem to want to poop or pee (even tho I take them out hourly). Any advice would help!

We just got our little Dachshund, 3 months old, last night, she is very snuggly and loves to be held, she just wants to be near us, she wouldn’t even go in the crate on her own, she was nervous to hop into it. Not interested at all. I tried everything recommended. Feeding in it, but she’s not treat or toy motivated. I can barely give her treats when she goes potty outside. We had to put her in the crate today for about an hour and she cried most of the time, barked her little sweet head off. She soaked the corner of her pet bed by chewing it from stress. As soon as we let her out she was happy like nothing happened. I will continue on in hopes she’ll get used to it but she’s proving to be very challenging because of her having so much separation anxiety 😢

  • @JesusGirl4Ever
    @JesusGirl4Ever 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hello! Thank you so much for these amazing videos. Before I ask my question, I just want to give you the backdrop on my pup.
I have a 7-year-old pit mix. Just in the last couple of months she developed some form of either, anxiety or extreme boredom when I leave the house..
Either way, it resulted in her completely destroying my bedroom door and scratching up other doors around the house and their molding.
I attempted to create train her but then jumped the gun and left the house before I should have. On camera, I watched her bust out of this cage like it was nothing, hurting herself and her teeth along the way.
I had to spend $1,100 on an escape proof cage. However, I want to crate train her so she doesn't try to escape.
I want her to fall in love with her new crate so there's no anxiety when I leave.
Okay so here's my question... I just started to implement the crate training videos you put out. And please forgive me if you answered this question in one of the videos, but how long do I stay on each stage?
I haven't left my house in weeks so I'm getting a little stir crazy. However, just like last time, I do NOT want to rush this process.
I just started her on this video. Yesterday, we played in her cage, she ate in her cage, she sat and did tricks in there, all the while I gave her treats or positive reinforcement.
At this point, she loves her cage. But only if the door is open and if I'm sitting right there or at least in the room with her.
How will I know when to progress to the next step? Which I'm assuming would be to slowly shut the door. Then, do some chores in the room with her while she's in her cage with the door shut. Then, going into the other room while she's in there with the door shut and then of course ultimately, leaving the house.
The last thing I want to do is take 10 steps backwards which is what I did when I left the house before the proper protocol.
She's a strong, solid 50 lb pit. I also live in Florida and she can get highly anxious during thunderstorms, which were about to run into the rainy season.
Sorry for this long question. I guess I just would like to know what I should be looking for before I jump to the next step.
She's totally worth all of my time and effort. So I am willing to put in the time and do things slowly and effectively.
Any advice you can give on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again so much for putting out these videos. I pray there's hope for my 7-year-old girl ❤️🙏

Question 2, What is it that he is licking from. Hard to tell from the video. I fell in love with diggs crate so when I contacted them they did verify it made in ***kommie***chyna,*** same with the BarkBox toys ***chyna***crap***. My issue is not the cost but where things come from in everything I buy. Can you recommend an American made crate? I already buy toys from West Paw and my girls(2 puppies) LOVE THEIR TOYS. Also, buy many of the food items/treats you recommend so I'm a BIG fan of yours. God Bless.
