Love these ol' transtars. Wish more guys would put these old cabovers back on the road. It's a treat seeing them compared to all the plastic stuff on the road these days.
My dad was a trucker in the 1970's he drove for Roadway....i was a teenager at the time and loved these old tractors...remember when UPS used these without sleepers.....
Hey it’s Wiley! Hanks friend from Hamilton farms! Hello sir. You are a clever ,funny, man with great knowledge of the old semis and tractors! I’m subscribing to ur channel and hope it takes off for u.
HEY WILEY. YAAAY you're like a really cool grandpa...ooh I see a new hat there...cool...my dad had a 1980 transtar. I was a baby boy but I remember it he used to drive for north American van lines..he would drive the whole thing down our residential street and come scoop me and my mom up and take us cross country with him .
I'm glad the ol truck started!! The law care guy is standing in the background like he's ready to whoop butt? A man would think he would be happy to see his grandfather's truck running and want to be a part of it. Great video y'all!!!!!!
Put a handyman jack to lift the cab I love the IH trucks drove them for years wish I had one thay never left me on the side of the road God bless you for keeping the tradition alive
Greetings from Cornwall in the UK, just wanted to let you know that was a brilliant video Wiley, 1st One I have watched, no nonsense or tomfoolery, just straight to the point......have subbed and look forward to watching the rest of your videos,
Brings back great memories. This was an old Saunders Leasing truck out of Montgomery, Alabama. I used to run with this bunch up the east coast and midwest. My favorite truck of all time was a "72 Transtar that I bought with about 800,000 miles. Straight 250 with a 13 speed that Conagra used to haul grain. If I had only kept the thing.
The Ford is ‘67 to ‘72 , love the channel, I’ve never worked on 18 wheelers, but Log Skidders , Draglines and Excavators and old school diesel equipment I’ve either fixed or fixed it where nobody else could !!! Know What I Mean Vern !!!
@@DontbeWily u are old school mechanic. No computer diagnostics or internet info. Just trial n error and knowledge from hands on. Great job sir. I’m sure Hank is lost without you. Lol 😊
Wiley, for a lot of years I was a mechanic for logging and roadbuilding companies and dealt with the same type of equipment you work on. During my career, I have had only two batteries blow up, I was lucky once the drivers door was open and protected me, got just a little acid on my coveralls and once the batteries were on the opposite side of where I was standing. After that, I started wearing safety glasses, figuring I had used up my luck. Just saying think about it. I am old and retired now and just mess with my own stuff for entertainment, love your videos keep it up.
Fantastic truck, I love them Transtars. Hey Wiley you are a credit to us oldies, just get out there and do it. Great video, thanks, take care, all the best from England, UK.
International trucks are really nostalgic to me. My Grand Father used to have one of these, and my Father used to have an 80 PayStar 5000 International and sold it about 5 years ago! I don't know if you can believe it or not, but these trucks are still on the road in Iran!
In the west its “cheaper” to borrow the money to buy a new truck than to keep an old one on the road. In canada they are buying old semi trucks putting them in containers and shipping them to nigeria. Its crazy. the new stuff we buy wont last nearly as long as the old trucks, its ass backwards.
My great uncle started is owner operator career in 1969 4070 transtar. Great vid. Later on he got another transtar with a 8v92. Always had stories that was the worst motor to try and make a living with. He was a cummins man from way back. He passed away recently and he is who got me in the truckin business. Wish he woulda seen this!! He went to montgomery alabama for 25 years. Its what i do now. Montgomery once a week.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Congratulations Wiley and Jacob. You got it running. Yeah!!!!!!! Good job after all those years of sitting. Good old truck yet.
